I wish that there was multiple choices in the story mode-questions you could ask, even if it didn't change the story/levels ahead. It would give the story replay-ability. 5/5 and favorited.

Thank you for the speed up and start next wave buttons! Finally, a TD game that gets it right. Full sellback for towers, and movable towers. But most of all, a speed up button. Thank you so much for the speed up buttons.

A very nice game. After playing so many td's when I started playing this I was like this kind of sucks till I realized you cant play this like other td's and once I got used to playing it it works very well. The one thing that took me like 3 lvls to figure out was the scripts give you back the money you spent in the beginning I was like why would I waist money on those. I also like how you can move any tower and how you can supposedly sell them for full money not that I ever found a reason to sell a tower on this game. Also the story nd music were nice to. Keep up the great work.

The tower defense genre has been done to death in just about every variation, so it's truly rare to find a TD game that feels new, fresh and addictive. Ghost Hacker is one such game. If you like TDs, you should definitely give this a try. The upgrade system is quite clever, and the tower and upgrade moving mechanics allow for some more advanced timing-based strategies.

I completed all 28 levels. By far the most enjoyable TD I've played in a very long time. Well made, funny story, great design, great gameplay. Just great. Did I mention it was great?

I liked this. I play a lot of these TD games, but none like this one so far. The addition of how I custom make my towers made me quite happy, although, I wish the colors were not random - perhaps you could choose what colors you have on each type of tower before the match, or perhaps during- ...Although the randomness in that aspect was not bad for me at all.
The story line was indeed decent, infact I was enjoying it enough to want to finish the game - and thats a HUGE bonus to any game regardless of style of game it is.
All in all a great game, I give it a 5/5, and a request for a second and perhaps third game.
Like my comment if you agree with that last statement - perhaps someone might take this into account and make a Ghost Hacker 2.

Best TD game I've played yet (and I've tried quite a few)! It's rare that a TD game actually makes you think about how to counter the various enemies in each level. I like the fact that your towers don't actually get any stronger on their own... you need to figure out which abilities to use together to be the most effective. 5/5

Wow! After getting perfect (all data cores) you unlock a bonus mode to be the monsters =D
Greatest perfect completion reward ever!

This Tower Defense game truly is up there with the greats. It has an innovative feel and design and, as the best comments have been saying, does actually have a storyline to it. After you've completed a level it all feels very rewarding which I love. Definitely a 10/10 game. One last comment; thank you for making it so that you speed the game up!

@DarthSteven: The biggest difference with this game and Don't Touch My Gems is that this game does not have ridiculous enemies that can dodge every one of your attacks or go invisible to all your towers. This game relies on skill instead of luck for getting all cores. Also, walkthroughs or easy mode is always available if a situation just seems too difficult.

I really like it, but please change the controls so that you can cycle between color-combinations by pressing a button. It got me annoyed a few times when I got my timing wrong and had to recycle.

This is one of the single most interesting and unique tower defense games I've played. I love the emphasis on different mechanics as opposed to stats.

I really love this game! Too bad it 'ends' after level 28. Please make a ghost hacker 2 and/or a level editor. I think the best part of the game is the unlock/upgrade system and the fact that you can never 'lose' memory, only time.

If anyone wants a sneak peek at the sequel, Ghost Hacker 2... just do a search on YouTube. Hopefully it gets you excited for it. ;D

Don't think I ever mentioned, despite first playing years ago...
Ghost Hacker is easily STILL the best Tower Defense game I've ever played. Clean game concepts & design, modular & adaptable towers, respectful and accurate use of programmer jargon (as opposed to, say, the CSI television show), addicting challenges that feel like puzzles instead of tedium, and so much more to love. 6/5 AT LEAST, and a definite Favorite.

I've played 6 levels of this so far and like it, but I have a suggestion. The strategy part of this game would go a whole lot faster if we where allowed to choose what tower upgrade colors we want. I spend a good 2 minutes waiting for the colors to cycle before I place an infection tower just so I can have one with the stats I want. We should be allowed to customize our colors to how we see fit, and even have a 3 red if we so wished.

I must admit this is probably the only Tower Defence that I ever appreciated on this website. No stupid grinding, no annoying long upgrades, no massive amount of waves, different strategies required in each level, addition of new elements that keep the player interested and entertained. Almost feels like a puzzle game. I hope other TD developers will learn from your quality in designing. The only minor annoyance is the unability to immediately select the surrounding colours of a tower, but since we aren't supposed to build more than 2-3 towers in each level that doesn't feel too bad either. Good job!

"Cake is never a lie."
I love it haha Potal 1 & 2 reference
and very nice game my only wish is that there was a few crazy hard maps becuase i felt like it was too easy do to he fact that the baddies had to comeback maybe
The difficulty of the original game got reduced a bit before it was released. Originally, there was no easy difficulty so I had to scale the normal difficulty back. Fear not though, the sequel is going to have 2 extra difficulty levels.

Liked the game, found one level very hard and some upgrades unnecessary but really enjoyed playing the game and thought the ideas and gameplay were fantastic. Not sure what the point of getting 10/10 data was in the game, maybe could of gave a bonus for that such as extra memory at the start of levels.

Defence games that I don't start to loathe two or three levels in are rare. This is one of them. I like the emphasis on strategy over spamming towers and upgrades; good difficulty progression.

Just so everyone knows "on hit" effects (splash, poison, slow, etc) only happen on the last "bounce" if you have the chain upgrade... I was trying to chain slows, poisons and splashes... And learned the hard way that it was useless.

Brilliant game. One little mechanic I was disappointed not to find was the ability for towers to share upgrades. As another comment mentions, most towers end up functioning more or less the same. If they could share upgrades, any boringness that comes from that slight weakness would be offset by the funness of organizing towers to maximize space, minimize cost, and jointly take advantage of strategically placed upgrades.

this reminds me a lot of the movie "Hackers" I wonder if that was the inspiration? Great game, great concept! Very Pretty.

EARLY GAME PROTIPS: Yes, you can wait for the lights to change. / Memory Leak x2 + Chain/Splash x1 on an Infector tower is awesome DoT. / Command Shell + Splash + Slow at the start works well. / Having trouble? Try switching 'easy mode' on (the green shield in the corner). / Compressor towers home in on targets. Use Splash and Slow or Leak on them for great effect. / Avatars aren't actually that hard; just use Damage over Time to kill them. / There are very few obstacles a Slow/Splash Command Shell and a Leak/Leak/Chain (or Splash, if you can afford it) Infector can't conquer.
