And to most of the missions the strategy is to build 1 big power generator, 1 Autogun turret just in case and then spam fighter bays (50 en) building Interceptors (75 en) 'till you win. Upgrade: energy generators then fleet production speed, rocket and bullet damage, building and turret armor, then ship's weapons and armor and everything else. With the facility that speeds ship construction up by 50% the rest of the game is a piece of cake, including the last mission.
Also you can build while the game is paused.

Last mission solution (ofc your fighters and buildings need be fully upgraded): build two big power generators, 1 research lab for faster production and ~10 fighter bays with fighters (75 en each). Then accumulate energy and build another research center to spam fighters faster. Then you can relax and build capital ships like supercarriers. Easy peasy.

Ended up skipping the penultimate level because it was basically impossible...anything I built just died immediately. Started the final level, had 3000 points right off, surrendered immediately, went back to my armoury for The Annihilator, restarted Final and built an Annihilator Stardock straight off. Once I had a couple of repair turrets (just in case) and built a few Physics Labs, Annihilators were swarming like Miners. Marvellous.

The Singularity gun is a devastatingly powerful offensive weapon (kills everything in one shot). Pair it up with Constructor to quickly attack enemy bases in black hole levels.

What worked for me:
Upgrades- Early Game, upgrade power efficiency followed by turret buffs and Heavy Barricade. By midgame, start working on general ship and weapon upgrades, along with repair. The rest of the upgrades as you desire - you'll get enough cash to max everything well before final level.
Gameplay- Pause as soon as you start a level. Build 1-2 Refineries, set barricades on perimeter and hide anti-fighter turrets behind them. Add medium ship defense, repairs, and 1-4 fighers next. Play defensively until you feel safe, then build your fleet. In the beginning, fighter swarms are all you need. Later on, Fleet/Super Carriers and Siege ships are absolutely DEVASTATING when you can stack Physics Labs.

The trick for defeating the infection stages is to use shields(which prevent infection), barriers(which are immune to infection), and a variety of guns such as the autocannons which can shoot missiles and bullets, keeping the infection from getting to you. Then, you'll want to use weak ships so they will die almost as fast as they can get infected, while also soaking up the infested projectiles, with some long range ships to carry the fight to the enemy. If you have them available, ships with beam weaponry are best because the beams can't transmit the infection, unlike missiles and bullets. Thus, whenever your ships get taken over they don't spread they don't infect more.

Ultra, Why not destroy the infected tiles with K? (Select then press K)
I don't know if it works, but seems like the best Infection Removal.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I can't figure out how to defeat the green slime aliens... Even with infestation resistance, my entire army and base get converted in seconds.

Please allow me to replace the same games for extra cash, so I can grind upgrades to defeat enemies that I find too hard :)

ther is a glitch sometimes where you can not build after an asteroid is destroyed in the middle of your base, otherwise i liked it

For most missions: rush the enemy. Build 1-2 reactors and then spam, interceptors, bombers, gunships (in that order). Transition to carriers if you don't win quickly. For longer missions & defense missions: get 1-2 reactors, 1 light carrier, 1 more reactor, then spam light carriers & super carriers. If lag becomes an issue, switch to your strongest capital ship. Against opponents with infest: spam either carriers, small fighters, or long range weaponry (i.e., Annihilator, if you have that) The only turrets I ever used were repair turrets, and rarely at that. Physics labs are amazing. Spam them. Barricades can be excellent early game, but only if you can spam them quickly enough. Good luck! (+)

I totally agree with Wyrd. If anyone is just playing this for the badge, try to play every game in the series starting with the first, this is an excellent game. (and they get better, but I still recommend trying the first)

This is one of the few games I wholeheartedly give a 5/5 to. The game is fast paced, but with the option to construct while paused so you don't feel too rushed. The various levels require a wide array of strategies, including equipping different sets of units to tackle different obstacles. This is one of the very, very few where I played the game all the way through and reset it so I could play it through again.

easy strat that appears to work for everything so far: pause game so you can build your towers, and spam fighter bays, usually 4 bombers, 2-3 interceptors and spam as many fighters as you can with two walls as distractions. should be a quick and easy victory :)

How to stop those green guys who take over your units? Even when I manage to stop them they just infest the other teams and then attack me with 3 full bases?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Step 1: build Reactors. Like, a lot of them.
Step 2: build Fighter Bay and set to Interceptor.
Step 3: keep repeating step 1 and 2 until the entire screen is filled with little blue ships.
Step 4: profit.

for the early levels here is a no fail strategy. #1 pause the game to build. #2 create a ring of miner ships around your base. #3 enjoy zerg rushing your opponents down.

Yes, one of my faves on badge of the day! Nice to revisit this one, check out part three if you haven't it's monstrously good.
