once upon a time there was a poor ginger who got made fun of by some chick and a rich dude. when they grew up, the ginger became a soul sucking wizard and trapped the chick in a cage while the rich dude became a knight with shiny armor. The ginger dies after sucking the soul out of the chick and the rich dude becomes sad and learns nothing.

Once upon a time there was a princess and 2 poor brothers. One brother knew the other brother wanted the princess as his bride, so the jealous brother became evil. Luckily the princess knew some chivalry and stabbed the evil brother. The good brother and the princess lived happily ever after. Oh yeah, and the evil brother died and the happy couple made-out on top of the evil brother's grave.

Whenever I create the "two heroes vs. one villain" scenario, apparently I can't can't have one hero die to help the other defeat the villain, just as I would in a "one hero vs. two villains" scenario (one villain dies while the other lives long enough to defeat the hero).
The reason I say this is because in war, sometimes one hero has to die buying enough time to help the other defeat the bad-guys. It's tragic, sure, but at the very least it's also bittersweet and at-times inspirational.
Is there any way this problem can still be rectified?

So, he tried to kill the boy, but found that the boy used his powers to disappear. The boy never returned to defeat the prince, and the prince now sits near the girls grave. The End.

The male sorcerer saw the prince coming to their castle, and tried to keep his love safe by putting her into the cage. The prince thought the girl needed rescuing, and stabbed the boy, causing the girl to become sad. Also, there was a peasant girl who admired them. However, they treated her badly, and she wanted revenge.
