I like the game but it is annoying how much infectivity affects boarder closure. The entire world has shut down because people are getting a barely noticable fever... Also, there are a lot of updates about natural disasters but they don't seem to have any real effect on the game - it would be more interesting if a country affected by a natural disaster had a chance of being forced to reopen boarders for relief aid, or something similar.

Pure luck based game. You can design the best disease but lose because one country does not get visited. Complete Waste of Time.

The biggest problem I have with the realism is that countries wouldn't easily shut down borders. The common cold has been around and yet most borders are open (the closed ones for other reasons). So really until someone dies, it's hard to imagine borders being shut down. Even swine flu and ebola didn't fully shut down borders. Just one specific country had screenings into the other.

Just restart the game again and again until you get Madagascar as starting country, like lucky me. Then follow riffraff1985's guide. :)

If you want to fast infect the world you should start on New Zealand. Fro here you can do it very fast, after it is Greenland. I don't know exactly but for me impossible badge was easier from New Zealand, because I had infected all countries 10 days earlier than on Greenland.

Nowhere near my best run but probably best survival combo so far :) Greenland, New Zealand, Japan, Cuba and of course Madagascar... roughly 200mil survived and with nice and healthy genom pool :) I like this!!

One of the most satisfying days of my life was earning the Impossible badge for this game. I still "harbor" a grudge with Madagascar... Lol. :^)

HOW TO GET IMPOSSIBLE BADGE: 1) Start with Virus AND in Greenland, get sneezing if you don't already have it (if you have to do that, sell off the other symptom ASAP). 2) Get 1/1/1/0 resistances. 3) The moment you spread to a second country, sell sneezing (you may have to do this before finishing Step 2). 4) Wait until you have infected all countries (this may require restarting several times - restart if Madagascar shuts down before you infect it). 5) The second you have infected all countries buy waterborne, moisture II and drugs I-IV (or buy drugs I-IV sooner if they start the vaccine early). 6) Wait until all/most countries are red (day 40 at latest, but sooner is better), then buy most Tier I-III symptoms, including at least one deadly one (e.g. pulmonary edema). Keep buying symptoms until you win. Oh, and play on the fastest speed, there's no point playing slowly.

For being infected with hypotonia, kidney failure, ataxia, and diarrhea, humanity is surprisingly resilient. Really wish I could get the hard badge for killing everyone on realistic. Took me till April 30th 2009 to kill everyone.

You don't get evolution points back for turning off a symptom, instead that costs points. That would have been nice to know.

1. Pick Virus
2. If you don't start in New Zealand, reset the game.
3. Remove any starting symptoms.
4. Add Cold I, Heat I and Moisture I.
5. Add Drug I, II, II and IV.
6. Add Waterborne and Airborne.
7. Wait until all countries are infected.
8. Add Sneezing, Coughing and Vomiting.
9. Wait for the entire world to become infected.
10. Add Tier II, III and IV.
11. Add Heart Failure.
