You can't call it very strategic when you can't even pick starting region. Restarting for 10 minutes trying to get a good starting region is no fun whatsoever and I won't bother

heres a tip on how to forsake the world as quickly as i did .the holy-grail on forsaking the whorld is by starting in south africa.. reason because Madagascar is very close to it and its easy to be infected by your disease and as you succeed on infecting the neighboring countries the the path to your victory is at sure.. TRY IT.

Started with disease in Madagascar, and with the added trait of Mutator. Unfortunately, despite this trait, when the disease spread to all regions, the vaccine was deployed and I lost :(
