...Are you kidding me? Madagascar sent a ship out, and I followed it. It went around Australia, past Japan, turned near the boarders of Russia. I assumed it was going to land there. Nope. It went past Russia, Past West Europe, past Argentina, up to The US. I then Assumed it was going to land in Canada. Nope. Went past Canada, past Greenland, back down West Europe, and finally landed in South Africa. A ship went around the world, around North and South America twice, just to get to a country that was so close to it. The Captain must've been drunk.

Madagascar may be almost impossible to infect, but I started in Madagadscar and after 30 days only Madagascar was infected and everyone else shut everything down.

SADLY, when I started to really infect everyone, a ship was not in a dock. And all the docks were shut down. So it just aimlessly wandered around in the ocean while the rest of the world got infected and died. ALL ABOARD THE S.S. LIFESAVER

I've got every territory on Earth infected with a deadly parasite; it's only a matter of time before the end of all life. Every airport, hospital, school, border, port, etc. is closed. Bodies are being burned, bottled water is being handed out, but it appears to all be in vain. There is no hope for humanity. Except for one thing. There is a single boat, aimlessly roaming the world's oceans. No safe port upon which to call. Perhaps there was a stowaway, packed in one of the crates of the boat. The captain and crew are dead, but she knew enough to burn their bodies and somehow has found a way to provide food and clean water on the floating Eden. Every human being in every nation has been eradicated. But this orphan girl is the last human on Earth. She patrols the world's oceans, looking for one last human to call friend, brother, lover, savior. She will never lose hope. She will never give up the search. Godspeed, little Noah. Best feeling you can have in this game? Watching as Madagascar closes it's shipyards and then one lone ship enters the port a moment later, bringing with it the infection.

1.) Pick Virus. 2) Start in Canada, New Zealand, Cuba, Greenland, West Europe, or Madagascar. If you do not get there restart. 3) Sell the starting symptoms, and buy sneezing (unless it is what you started with, just keep it). 4) Buy 1-1-1-0 resistances but no transmissions (they trigger closures). 5) Once four countries are infected, sell sneezing to get rid of visibility. 6) Wait until all countries are infected. If Madagascar closes its shipyards/borders or is not infected in 30 days, restart. 7) Buy all four drug resistances AND sneezing, coughing, and vomiting. 8) After a few days, unlock tiers 2-3, (do not buy tier 4 ever!) keeping whatever symptoms it gives you. 9) Buy fever, fatigue, diarrhea, pulmonary edema, and hypersensitivity. Then save for kidney failure and ataxia. 10) keep this comment alive Thanks for the comment! I got 13th of all time by using this method.

This game is okay, but it would be good if it wasn't ridiculously luck-based. I had a disease start in Madagascar and it took 40 days before the disease spread to another country (by that time 99% of the country was already infected). There needs to be somewhat even odds on infection and the reactions should have been adjusted to the severity of the disease. No country closes it's borders/airports/water treatment plants for a disease that only causes sneezing (at least on "realistic")
