They're definitely annoying. Looks like they're mostly jealous that the game runs maintenance-free, when the shitty-ass cobbled-together systems they run require constant attention to keep running in a reasonable state.

Stalkers shut off cron again. I didn't write cron, and cron doesn't have bugs like this, so it's obviously not a natural occurrence.

Under rating threshold (show) This game is awesome! What do you think about a way to save equipment as a set? I like to accessorize for the occasion, i.e. Armor when i'm afk, high speak when passing bills, etc. and it'd be nice to just choose an 'outfit'

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from delosford

You should gain a better understanding of what stats do so that you can build a balanced set of gear instead of stat stacking (which is not optimal play).

I ran the scripts manually to compensate for what the stalkers did. It's possible things just didn't change much. If any bills still didn't get applied for some reason, they'll pass/apply at the next EOD.

Under rating threshold (show) Stalker are indeed a plague. What's fun in the possibility that you can't play the game when you should(as someone says)? Anti-Stalckers, as long as anything is legal and not dangerous, I will indeed support you as much as I can (but I can't do much). You already won my gratitude.

Under rating threshold (show) Server is down. I hate this idiots! What's wrong with these 'Stalker' guys? What wrong have we done? We're trying to enjoy a perfectly awesome game and they come in and ruin everything for us! Dammit! Hell, i'm going to find a way to let them taste their own Cyber-Medicine! Maybe i'll rally some users to start a Anti-Stalker Revolution! Who's with me!!??

+ - !

(4)

Developer response from delosford

Well, you'll all be getting a rather lot of information about them today. I'm thinking home addresses, workplace addresses and license plates. They keep it up and everyone from their immediate families get released. Let's see if they care more about them than themselves.

Under rating threshold (show) Perhaps a private investigator could be hired to look into the whole stalker issue. Either that or offer a bunch kreds or whatever to anyone who can do some successful amateur investigating on the matter and is able to dig up some concrete info on who is exactly doing what and why. There's got to be more to it than just that info posted in global.... If you pull the thread.... the sweater will begin to unravel......

Stalkers actually just shut off cron for about 9 hours this time. Frankly I have no idea what they're even trying to convince people of at this point. The server gets shut off randomly at the VM level, which has nothing to do with the game, they stop cron, which I didn't write, and sometimes they shut off the server right after I use ssh... which I also didn't write. So there's three problems occurring due to them currently and I don't even know what they're trying to sell as a lie at this point because they stopped making sense a while ago. I just ran the appropriate scripts, so the game state isn't even affected.

Under rating threshold (show) Is the entire line of presidential succession coded into the game? As in, if one were to successfully kill off the President and Vice President, would the speaker of the house then gain presidency, as would be the case in real life? In the real US you also don't pay a deranged AI to kill people.

misko27

Sep. 07, 2014

Under rating threshold (show) That's not very realistic though for the US. Do you know how many riots have killed congressman? One. You might as well include a random chance to be killed by terrorists, given far more (although still very few) have been shot or killed by either foreign or domestic terrorists.

Schnickel

Sep. 07, 2014

Under rating threshold (show) By the way, seeing as public happiness is all of 2.79%, is there a mechanic in the game in which a popular uprising topples the government, i.e. revolution? If not, should there be?

+ - !

(-1)

Developer response from delosford

There is not. For each red stat past the first, every member of Congress loses CSP on a weekly basis. So if the country is going to shit, people get angry and much more likely to unelect everyone.

Schnickel

Sep. 07, 2014

Under rating threshold (show) Raise the debt I suppose... but it's the speaker of the house, Brannigans Law himself who is calling for the increase of salaries, simply because he wants "maximum damage" as he put it. At least your game isn't boring Delosford. It's not real life, we can afford to have shit hit the fan, unlike actual congress, which tends to spread faeces regardless...

It's called the system of checks and balances, and your bills are being vetoed by the President specifically.
