I think the interesting thing is how the numbers you plug in are all speeds so they don't determine the actual shape of the drawing, just the trend it follows. The picture depends more on the position of the pen when you put those speeds in so the same numbers can make many different shapes.

I got the hang of it. Type a positive number in the first box and type the same in the third box, then type a negative number in the second box. It will create a nice shape.
