This is the best method i found to catch everything and avoid collision with unwanted things http://prntscr.com/19ocrn

I liked this game, but I simply cannot pass the part when all my is web broken. Even with a full web bar and health, I simply starve to die cause I cannot remake a web large enought to catch something, except if I have lots of luck, what is not common. Someone has passed this part?

Surprisingly, the best way (for me at least) to play this game looks similar to an actual spider web. I choose to leave a gap in the middle and make most strands go around that in a circle, only using lines going towards the center to support those longer ones. This ensures that when something inevitably breaks a strand, most of the web remains intact.

@jason, if you press space it cancels whatever commands you have already queued up and you can issue new ones instead

The Circle web seems to be the best option. By avoiding the middle, it becomes quite a bit harder to break your entire web at once.

at the first time, you try to make just like real spider web, but not again till bee, stag beetle or another web breaker come :P

golden webbing is worthless even when over 25% of the web is made of it and still fireflies instantly destroy it... perhaps its more important to have a stand of golden webbing entice from top-bottom/left-right of the connection points rather then encircle the central web

@ JSilvis
Yeah, like i had a center oriented web, really good, about 75% gold webbing.. and a hummingbird flew into a stray strand, and outside strand and tore the whole thing up, it's all about trying to make a durable, good web, with very few, if any weak spots, or strands that will cause an avalanche like that, to prevent such things, i make a Right triangle sort of web, it's only half the screen, so half the bugs, but it's easy to mantain, strong and very hard to avalanche like that (Please + So people can know the Triangle idea, if done right, it's a supendous way of play)

does this happen to be a golden silk spider? it looks nothing like it, but it does use golden silk and its web is extremely strong.

critical web fail - first, a joint drops down if it has connections only in a single semicircle, so add them joints while curving the web's edge inwards to prevent it going down all at once. Also protect the edges of your web, mostly web goes down if an edge gets torn apart by a bat/hummingbird/lucky bee shot. And second, golden strands don't add up to total structure's strength, only a number of strands in it matters, unless goldens are the only strands that carry the load. So if a center gets overloaded, it tears up.

Karanime, basically you can't totally prevent your web from breaking, you can only constantly detect if there's a weak spot exposed and web around there giving it protection. Also you can maintain 2-4 corner webs so even if one corner will fall, you will have another one to give you food. You can even get a full circle if you play this game for long enough, that is 4 corner webs with all their corners protected, so the open space does not connect to the trees. Such a web is extremely stable. I once had that, and when I finally stopped adding web and resorted to eating only, it held for 70k points before me starving, including two bats, ~20 hummingbirds and lots of other stuff.

the itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout there it made its web and cleared the buggies out.....then a bunch of freaking bees came along and went hulk smash on my damn web #spiderstrugglesarereal

Oooo fireflies :D *catch 5* swarm of moths D: trying to eat them all and the fireflies when suddenly entire web gives out...

The most important strategy consideration is to not cover the screen with web. Keep your territory small and secure. If the AI is still letting you put web between the cracks in your web, you're not secure enough. Two corners and about 1 third of the screen is plenty for the levels immediately below 10. Going into level 10 this territory decreases even more. You need a lot of bugs to not get caught because you don't have time to eat them all. If you try to catch all of them, you will end up dying really easily. The first time the bat appeared, it just left through the huge opening in my web, and that's fine. The second time it appeared it hit and my web was dense enough to catch it immediately.

I had a small area of close together webbing all put ttoigethter and reinfrocing itself and it had goledn webbing from a beetle I had caught in it before it was as good as it was but then a stag beetle came and hit the tiny string of web going upwards I had ignored and slightly hit it and my web was destroyed I just dont see how that happens

Bua! Who takes one thousand years to get catch a bat? Ah, that would be interesting if you could resume from the point where it stopped ...

great game, BUT what the hell everytime i get to a certain point the web just falls to pieces no matter how well i build it. i had a perfect web in one game and it all just suddenly fell apart not a happy chappy!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
its too easy to fall behind on everything. the whole game needs to be a bit slower so that you can plan routes and stuff.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the bat was stuck for 5 seconds on my web, and while i was eating him my entire web smashed. I never laughed so hard in my life.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The problem with the game is that once your web breaks, that's it. You're done. You might struggle along a bit longer, but there's just no chance of recovering.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i think you should be able to increase movement, eating, more spiders with upgrades + if you want this in a arachnophilia 2

if you are having problems with this game then follow this simple tactic: start on the lower left-hand corner and begin by building one web diagonally across that quarter; then pick a point in the middle and make web lines radiate out from that one - just like real spiders do. for every 4-8 new lines that you make, make sure to connect them with lines perpendicular to the center. i have had 2 bads on it at the same time - it is just that powerful..
