I would rather you map spear throwing to something like the E button instead of having it come up whenever I am pressing forward.
They are not more challenging, they are usually less challenging because its not about player skill any more, its about what upgrades you buy. It seems like all game have to have upgrades these days and people complain if there aren't. Which i think is a shame. Eventually al game will end up being the same

I would love some upgrades, maybe a choice of paths to take conquering each country, something to make the game seem more involved.
Need more info! I thought I had fixed it. Can you tell me when its freezing. Before it was when you threw a spear at someone off screen. Is is still that? What are you doing just before it freezes? or are you talking about a slight pause every kill?

Hm...I wasn't aware that if you are stabbed with a sharp object, it'll cure a broken knee... Has anyone mentioned this to medical professionals? The tip that says that breaking a knee will disable your enemies is a little misleading. It should say it will stop them from attack for about one attack time. (like half a second.) I thought I could break one knee and turn to attack the other person trying to kill me. But when I turned around he came back, and I was stuck in the stabbing loop.

great game, but my only complaints are that there isn't good variety of moves to do (why don't you add a downwards swing that slices their legs?) and that Achilles starts slicing like a maniac and then suddenly stops. other than that, it's a good hack and slash and i enjoyed it a lot.

I find ground kills frustrating. Ive been caught in between 2 foes on the ground just because i keep missing them and I'm only pressing the up button!

Oh come on, aside from the graphics, there's absolutely no difference in this game and the original game. It's exactly the same. No new attacks or anything, no new enemies, only the swordsman is op like hell now, at least he wasn't in the first game.... Sorry but this is really dissapointing. If you make a "new" game, at least make it so that I don't feel like I'm just playing a more pretty version of the first game.

I found a cool glitch, if you jump right at the start of a level (before he starts talking.) you will get stuck up in the air. you can get down by jumping.

Yup just worked out to perform executions properly you're only supposed to click up not pressing any other directional buttons, you should note that if you want it to remain the case. Having the option to press down as well as up would still make it more fun. Please do adjust the head kicking perimeters. Thanks for the response! Just finished the game. Was fun while it lasted :)

there is a bug with this when i try to throw the spear he suddenly turns around and throws it the other way, overall its a great game though i think the prequel was better

Not sure if it's historically accurate that Achillies was a bad footballer as it takes sometimes about 10 kicks into mid-air before he kicks the actual head. Amazing. Of course this is your take on Achillies, so maybe that's what he's supposed to be like. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong dude though, I mean, the guy in the Golden armour doesn't seem to respond to movement that well.
Other than that, good game! :)

Jumping up should be optional. What's wrong with pressing down & instant kills being easy and making you feel powerful? Nothing. If you feel it makes the game easy, add more numbers to the enemy team. Otherwise the gameplay feels flawed and I personally feel stupid jumping around on the enemies corpse 3 times before spontaneously deciding to finish him off at last.

right, I see what my mistake was now. I was pressing "up" together with the direction key, turns out it was my own mistake all along. (:

Pressing "down" to kill a fallen enemy feels more intuitive to me than "up", but I can see how that might make it a bit too easy (time taken for instant kill is too fast). Would it be possible to ensure that it doesn't miss, at least? For me, the biggest annoyance would be when Achilles turns away from the soldier I've just knocked down, so that even though I jump in the right direction and hold "up" he fails to make the killing blow.
direction he is facing shouldnt make a difference. There is a problem with it sometimes missing if you are a fair distance away. I will try and fix it tomorrow

Thanks for the advice from my previous comment, but I always already holding down the buttons, then I tried tapping them, either way didn't seem to work :(

I really enjoyed this, but my one gripe is the mechanic for killing enemies you've already knocked onto the ground. Perhaps there could be a smoother way of stabbing them when they're down rather than pressing "w"?

When it Achilles stops freezing JUST LIKE THAT and the enemies beat the crap out of him. You feel really pissed because in the myths Achilles is one kick-ass BAD-ass warrior descended from hell itself baby. You fell humiliated and so does Achilles.Make it stop

Another note about the freezing thing; when it happens it appears that the characters shadow/hit area actually moves away from the frozen animation. I'm not sure if any of that helps in perhaps pinpointing this thing so that I can actually attempt survival for real for once without being afraid that I'm going to get 3/4 of the way there and it'll freeze, rendering all my time wasted. Or more wasted than it already was.

Well, the freaking freezing issue seems to have a lot to do with hucking spears. This is now the third time that as soon as I start throwing spears it's not long before it freezes. Of course the first time was when I was at 200 some kills getting ready to easily beat god damn powerreef and his damn little frog when, of course, it froze. Spears are one of the few things that speed up survival to begin with, and just seeing mounds of spears lying on the ground unthrown eventually drives me crazy, I say "well, let's give this a try again. Maybe it won't happen this time..." and sure enough I end up freezing shortly after. It's maddening.

In achilles 1, i hated those archers, but in this one, archers are like my allies, i jump and they hit an ally. tip: if you have an swordsman/spearman behind and an archer in front, prepare for the archer to shoot, jump when he shoots, and he will hit the swordsman/spearman

DJStatika, In my opinion, this game beats warlords heroes. I love the Voices and the general style of the game. I think you captured the time of Achillies perfected, you know the armors, geography etc. and for people who don't like it when you kill a guy and it freezes for a second, then change the body count to maximum so it won't do it as much.

God, the freezing issue is killing me. I got to 148 kills in trojan, and then I freeze and have to quit. I still had over half my health left and showed no sign of slowing down. That makes me angry. I'm afraid to even try again because who know, maybe I'll just get to around a hundred kills and it'll freeze on me, wasting all the time it took getting up there? It's difficult to have legitimate high scores when it's often times a question of who can go the longest without freezing, not who can get the best score.
