The controls for mining are awful. Trying to get the target cursor to turn orange is like parallel parking a hummer into a compact spot. I couldn't justify wasting the time to get past this. 1/5.

Plus I'm pretty dissapointed with the rank it has - of all these people saying that it's theb est game ever and whatnot, nobody seems to be voting.

Thanks. My computer regularly cleans out temp internet files and cookies, and if the save files were stored in either one, I'd be quite annoyed, to say the least. ;)

Seems like a fairly interesting and fun game, but lacks a few things that would make it more playable. Primarily in-game weapon stats and a mute button!!! Flash games without mute are horribly obnoxious.

Its pretty much all on the server, the only thing that is on your computer is the prefilling in of the username and password fields.
So as long as you remember your username and password, you can continue your game from any computer

DJStatika - are the save files on your server(under the registered name) or on the computer?
If they're on the user's pc, where are they? I want to make sure they aren't cleaned out.

To mine, press 0 to select mining laser, fly close to an asteroid and point at it to lock on, the hold down z to fire the beam until the orange bar in the locked target screen has depleted. Then move on to the next asteroid. Fly over a space station to convert what you have mined into money.
There are weapon descriptions aswell as lots of other info including player stats on the main website: www.disputedgalaxy.com
You can quite when at a station, but not when you are out and about because you have to go back to the station to save. This is to stop people just closing the browser as a way of avoiding death (you can do that but you sacrifice any bounty or mined ore)

Reminds me of ELITE! Seems to be no pause or quit(?) Also, couldn't find weapon descriptions (esp damage) in game which seems a bit useless. Very impressive overall though.

Do you need to do anything special to make mining work? Just firing me mining laser at a asteroid isn't really working for me...

Cant connect to chat? or cant get into the game at all? If the latter, then it could be a firewall blocking it possibly? or you could try right clicking, picking the left tab, then clicking advanced to have a fiddle woth your security settings... Don't know what more to suggest, sorry

So I had a 1750 ship with a 38000 engine, the trade in price was ~1500 so I assumed the engine transferred between ships... it didn't lol.

it is well done, there is so may hours in that game and that's why it is fun to play... long though cause it is quite infinite. One thing there should have diffrerent mission in solo, it would be fun to attak some enemy station. would be harr, but fun... good game

Very very ambitious for a flash game. Perhaps overly so. Right now, it's a bit slow and unpolished. And sparse. I need more to do and got bored kinda slowly. That said, you might want to contact Kongregate about seeing if they'd fund you to make this into a premium game. It has potential to be a fantastic multiplayer game, and you could make use of a micro-transaction system to really monetize the game.

This is all it takes for me not to want to play a game:
"Be carful not to lose all your lives, if you do, your account will be reset."
People take time to get in to and play big games because it's fun. If you can lose all your progress, much of that "fun" is lost. It makes as much sense to have that in a game, as capital punishment makes sense to have in a society. It just makes everything generally pissy.

This game is really fun, it just took me a while to figure out how to move even after reading the instructions. I finally figured out that leave space station meant go into the game, not go to main menu. lol

Final thing: Instead of making you appear on the middle of the side you came on, make it enter EXACTLY where you came from(so diagnal travelling, like the autopilot does, is actually useful).

...what? I was 116 AU from an "west" edge and passed over the south edge and ....ended up NOT 116 from the west edge?

Not a bad game, but if you doubled the speed of ships and turning it would be more fun. I mean, at this speed I can navigate the farthest right ship on the first level of alien ships around te missles of 5 enemy ships firing at once. Doubling ship speeds and increasing fire rates would make it tougher.
