A note for the scout only strat though, you may have to send a big unit or a swarm of effective small units at times just as sometimes the enemy will actually cover every lane

ez way to cheese most levels:only play scouts in lanes the enemy isn't occupying and level only speed
Stupidest working strat I'm aware of, but is more fun than spears only....

I was 11 when I got the badge. Holy smokes. Feels weird coming back to this and reflecting on a wholly different life. The badges make it feel so close and recent!

Ok, so. Strategy. Be the undead race, and save up for the halberd class. Then, you need to grind on the 2% countries, it's gonna suck, but DO NOT WIN ANY. I'm not sure about surrendering, but just ensure that you have the enemies bar. Just kill as many enemies as you can, and, once acquired, the halberd chews threw them.
I got my halberd up to about a 4, and I upgraded the defense to 2. I also upgraded speed to a 3, but that might be optional, since it gets tedious to watch the screen until the clock ticks down.
Ok, now here comes the easy but ridiculous part. Go up to the black countries, the ones with the 57% difficulty rating. Find something heavy enough to weigh down your space button, and just spam the halberds. That's it. You can even walk away. So long as you take the black countries out first, the rest will be relatively easy. I tried for max border coverage to see the danger ratings, and aimed for the highest difficulty rating to keep the rest low.

It is nice to finally see a game that has spearmen that are actually useful. Also, a good strategy I found to counter the large trolls is to ignore them while deploying scouts in the other lanes so you get more troops across than the enemy and do not lose enough troops for the enemy to launch a charge.

Like this comment if you only play the game of the day to get the badge of the day regardless of how good the game actually is.

Boring. 2/5 for the effort. I have a better mobile game that's much better where you have way more units and place bricks down to hold back your opponents including all kinds of traps. Instead of left to right it's bottom to top (works better on phones). Looks way better too.

@Slimoo ty for the comment of autosend, I got to lvl 15 with that, now I am getting overrun by troops charging me from the other side cause I cannot charge back...

This seems to be a massive grinder where you have to lose repeatedly to 2% difficulty to build up stats so you don't get over run by the enemy that spawns forces faster than you can

Also don't let anyone fool you, the best unit by far is halberd, starting as undead (+3). One shot kills on archers, basically tanks otherwise.

This game is rigged. Spearman get magically one shouted on level one, and the enemy sends out four (4) charges in a row.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Previous posts are correct. Fun game, if you really play it.
As others have said, f you just want to win: Autosend from the options menu, upgrade spearmen when you have some dough, then it almost becomes an idle game. Straight line of spearmen will never lose.

Yeah, the comments are right, spearmen is best strat. Starting race doesn't matter as long as it's not negative armour or spear. Then just upgrade those and occasionally speed. I've found it's easier to attack the more difficult areas first, and especially at the end as they all get stronger as you take land. I managed to avoid the difficulties going over 80% this way. Auto-attack is in options, but you still have to press Q every 20 kills! 0 on numpad also seems to work though :)

Wonder how the game decides when it's time to send a row of units. Kinda feels like some enemies can use that 2-3x as often as the player
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
use swordsman and mounted unit on human so you can spam swordsman and if they get close or in a line use the mounted unit and upgrade them

No one talking about halberd? Hits harder than spearmen, stack a few and most enemies die out of range, riders fall fast. only downside is its squishy, so run a swordsman occasionally to tank. beat campaign without loss or retreat.

I thing easy is beat deamon on begining and keep fighting bigger rating. Focus on one type of unit ( ideal is focus on race bonus unit ) and then use auto-send units in option and if you have charge- just send most powerfull unit you have. if you face troll. then you need change line and send fast unit in other way ( not fight troll ) :-) Have funn :-))

Regular spearmen are actually better than spearmasters after upgrading them a bit. Because spearmasters charges in, hits one attack and backflips out of range without hitting the enemy while spearmen stand still and spam regular attacks from maximum range. For testing, I upgraded spear and armor a little too much, (15 armor, 10 spear) and tested it against King's guard. Spearman and Mounted spearman kills King's guard while spearmaster still dies.

Just improve spears, armour and speed with mountain trolls. Then open Mountain Giant. use Q for only Giant. Other times spam spearman from middle. Dont care other enemies break your lines.

Got the medium badge in around an hour just by spamming spears in 1 lane playing as Night Elves. Upgrades before the final level were: 1 Speed, 3 Armor, 5 Spears. Try to leave 3-4 easy maps as the final levels so you can easily go through them.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
yes in the last battle at max difficulty I just ignored the spam from every track and sent all units down one or two tracks, spears, halberds and swords supported by a few mages.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the final few levels become impossible to beat unless you grind for hours to level up your armies. not really worth the effort.
