the halberdier is amazing. the mounted ones suck. the ground ones, though, are amazing. especially how they travel in groups.

The strongest troops here is ranger.
The only thing u need to do here is spam 2~3 swordman to tank the first wave, then spam a bunch of ranger troops. A wave with 5 ranger troops can easily kill ANY giant troll and demon troops can barely touch them.

Please change it back to the original where it looked so much more brutal instead of cartoon like characters and the textures look ugly on the map.

@mygirlbeatsme - maybe you should stop playing the difficulty = 3% battles? After my first fail I went after a 57% one - with spearmen :D (auto-send)- went afk, and returned to victory. I have absolutely no idea what the difficulty ratings actually mean.

this game is completely unbalanced. cant even get past 3rd fight. somehow I continue to get overwhelmed by stronger troops. how come the enemy can summon at 1.5 my speed AND gets more kinds of troops than me? i mean really first battle is 3% difficulty, next battle is 3% difficulty. (cool, 1 upgrade now) next battle FIFTEEN PERCENT DIFFICULTY? WTF WITH THE GAP!!! (and yes, i checked EVERY arrow, for multiple races)

My final battle had "105% difficulty". Apparently this means they send hordes of troops uncontested into my territory, while my troops march uncontested into theirs, and then I win?

Honestly, there's no money reward at all,you have to lose to have some money back. This is way too grindy for be considered a mildly good game.

Here's how I beat this game: I only really built/used one melee unit and one ranged. During each battle, I sent all troops down one lane, and if I lost I upgraded that unit and tried again; without too much trouble, I was able to just spam that unit. I beat the last quarter of the game by starting the battle, then setting my water-bottle on the space bar. In conclusion, most of this game can be beated by a rock.

@Lagbane - you are 100% correct. However, it doesn't matter because I am talking about the first play through. Once you have beaten the game, it is just repetition at that point and demons don't help you get badges.

I just don't like the fact that if you upgrade the wrong stuff, you have to start the entire game over. Seems a pretty harsh punishment for making a few early mistakes.

This is the game that brought me to kongregate. They had units only avalaible on that sight. It's been almost 10 years now and I have been playing on this site ever since. Thanks for the great game and the great memories.

If you just want the badge or you got stuck on a level there is a way of winning pretty easily: When you go to battle you can toogle the auto sending of units in the options menu below (on the left corner), it will keep them coming so you dont have to bash spacebar all the time. Then all you do is wait, don't mind the other rows just focus on spawning soldiers on one. Sometimes you have to change the spearmen for swordmen in order to beat the level but with the upgrades it works out just fine. I chose the men of the west and bought the upgrades for the fastest starting unit (spearmen). + if it helped so others can see it

WTF!!! The money resets to zero if you leave to the menu and then continue the campaign!!! So basically we have to drop everything we're doing to set aside a couple of hours because we'll lose all our money if we have to have lives outside this game.

game fail... I turned off sound and it turned it back on. When I want sound off I want the game to remember at least each time I load the game.

I've conquered the lands not with the spear but with a sharpened scythe. I reaped as I went, the fields littered with broken bones upon which I made my path to total subjugation of the other races.
The way is shut. It was made by the dead. And the dead keep it. The way, is shut.

Anyone who's just here for the Badge of the Day: Turn on Auto Send, go into a level, then go AFK for a bit. Come back after you've lost, start the level again, rinse, repeat.
