Great potential, but far to slow...
take armor / sword, in any case dont take archers... they suck hard
get some speed / armor, upgrade sword dmg, send masses of swordsman, if they start sending trolls just send spearman on every other lane and let the troll get through, they get 2 trolls, you get 6+ spearman through, they cant hold all lanes with it, and no matter how strong a unit is, the bar moves the same for a unicorn-dragon-demon as for a peasant
all in all this game has a lot of potential, but its to slow and gets to boring to do the medium badge... at least for me ;p

The spear exploit works pretty well, but if you're not careful you can find yourself in trouble late in the game, especially against giant trolls and elvish whirlers.

Well, if you are STILL aiming for badges now, here are my tips, pretty similar to everyone elses.
1) Go with any race that does not penalise spearmen, preferably not something that does + or - for something that is speed/armor/spearmen. 2) You mainly need to upgrade your spearmen to level 3-4 at the start, farm if you have to (keep on surrendering before you win. Note, do not just put all of the troops in one lane, try and actually counter your opponents troops).
3) Now, you should be able to do all regions that are not the highest (just by putting all spearmen in one lane). You should try to get your armor to level 2-3 now, and by then, you should be able to complete all regions. If you can't, farm and try to upgrade armor/spearmen a bit more. Note: Speed is not required, and makes no difference except for making the game finish faster (only by a bit)

There should be a bar that shows you the progress of your charge so you can see how close you are to getting it. Too many times I have had a charge, not realized it then had to wait another reload on my elite unit.

Just got all the achievements using the strategy of spear men only. It works. Start a level, go make a samitch come back start next level... eat said samitch, start next level and so on.

Men here is our plan. We just keep spawning men out of nowhere until we get the horde. then unleash your best men and start tearing up their butts (not a sexually) and then when we win just rince and repeat. 95% chance of victory for everyone else but the demons. man those guys are scary XD.
