I won the game with the human alliance! Their armor really makes the units tough and their king's guard is an amazing unit!!

be the trolls because the trolls if you get the gaint troll after attacking undead, then the demons you get so much money and all and you have a giant roll and you kill all the demons without losing once atleast i did c:

Play your campaign as the Undead (beacause F$*% archery!). Begin by attacking the Demons to the north, and only ever attack the Demons to the north. You'll get whooped a few times, but you still earn money to train your units. Eventually you'll wipe them all out, and nothing for the remainder of the game will ever be as challenging. Your units will be boss and you'll be fighting your next closest competitors' JV squads. Unconquered territories continue to rise in difficult every time you conquer a new one, but every nation has one territory that just never increases in difficulty. Avoid ever capturing these until there's nothing left to capture, and the latter half of this game will be cake.

Useful tips for the campaign/achievement: The tug-of-war bar at the top is easily missed. Level up Spear Training to level 7, Armor to level 3, and Speed to level 2 or 3. Ignore the rest of the upgrades and just pump out Spearmen. Play the first couple of easy levels to level up a couple of times and then only play the hardest levels for the rest of the game. Take on the 57% Difficulty levels early on (the Demons). Surrender before winning battles to maximize your money to make leveling up easier. Winning causes the difficulty of all unplayed levels to increase. Therefore there's not much point in doing the easiest levels nor winning a level until you've sufficiently leveled up. The AI is weak - if your units are overwhelming it, it will generally go for its own inexpensive units with weak armor and stick to the line your arrow is on, which is why spamming Spearmen is the way to go. A line of Trolls are the only units that can overwhelm this tactic. +1 this.

OK, found out what's causing achievement to not work properly on my system: Adobe Flash Player is auto-blocked on Chrome for some reason. After enabling Plug-In, I was able to claim achievement/Badge of the Day.

Visiting the world map does nothing towards achievement. Still stuck at 0 on meter when I have killed 800+ units in campaign, quit to Main Menu, even reloaded the page. Any fix around this before Badge of the Day expires?

Balance is 100% garbage. You can coast through most of the game with auto-deploy spearman, then you hit a wall. Why is it the enemy gets 4 times as many of those deploy-one-guy-on-all-lanes things as I do?

Why does this game have a score over 4? There is hardly any gameplay as all you need to do is press activate auto send units and wait. Graphics are far from amazing either.

Spearmen comment serves true. Just set auto deploy to "on" and sit back. Leave it on screen in case the charge is ready so you can continue to send out units, but I was able to sit here with this on one screen and my essay in front of it. Beat with minimal input. Upgrade spears, armor, and speed and then tackle the "hardest" segments first. Basically free badges and it satisfies my achievement hunting

"Whirler - very useful against lone units" - Pfft. They're slow to produce, but have all the advantages of swordsmen, spearmen and axemen put together. Plus extra range and rapid damage. They counter most of the units in the game.

after coming back to this and playing all the tribes, just play the cave trolls the elves suck but are fun and the desert men are awful, also rush the harder territories first as the difficulty scales awkwardly
also turn on auto spawn in options

For everyone new to the game:
The most useful unit across almost all situations will be the haliberder. Note that I said most useful, not strongest, that would be the giant troll by a country mile. See, haliberders have excellent reach, good damage, and most importantly can be deployed quickly. You want to deploy a lot in one lane, what you end up with is this single blob of men slicing and dicing anything in front of them before retaliation is often possible. Not only that but damage is distributed amoungst the blob's members, keeping as many in the fight at once as possible. HOWEVER, keep in mind mages crush haliberders, with a high ROF and great damage against slow targets with hardly a scrap of armor, mages where made to ruin a haliberder's day.

Commander: "Archers, move towards the enemy between each shot"
Archer:"But that's suicide!"
Commander: "That's an order!"

Defeat enemies with high percentages first if possible. With each victory the enemies get stronger so the endgame is much easier this way.

That moment when you have auto send units on, and you wait for your most powerful unit to send, but you missclick so you send an archer instead...

Haven't played this in ages, the nostalgic, bs halberd spam is still as bs as ever :D. If i recall correctly demons were the end game, hardest race, yet im deleting them as first opponent. Gotta love undead :D

ok so how does this charge thing work? because i was fighting someone and they sent 2 charges of giant trolls basically back to back and I hadnt had a single charge yet
