As many have said it needs more work. But the foundations are there and this game has alot of potential, read peoples comments and try your best to make it work. The graphics and controls are fab, just extra's like camera view, speed control, more detailed trade system.
One thing I would like in particular is a pick up/drop off system where you can take a peek into what your fallen foes have dropped and decide whether you want to drop some cargo you already own to pick up whatever it is your enemy has dropped

The added things from AoW were minor, and mostly made it more confusing. Sorry this didn't get pursued, as it had real potential.

This GAME reminds me of a good old pirate game I used to play during the age of play stations, "OVERBOARD". I love that game, it one of the best graphics and game-play for me. This game is almost similar, but it's a sandbox style game and has no clear objective what so ever. However it could use some storyline, quest/missions at least, more features like; naming your character and your ship, hiring crew members to maintain your ship and board after ships, buy equipments, raid ports, fight epic ships and sea monsters, and maybe build a fleet of your own.

Just incase you didn't know ( i didn't) that you have to die at the start in order to actually play the game so when you start don't even bother shooting just die. :) rate up so people dont mindlessly attack ships for hours :)

well I could say a lot here, this game has a LOT of promise, it needs a few things though, Change view or at least some camera controls, during fighting, being able to slow or speed up the ship (incremental, no sail, half sail, full sail) some story or at least factions, that way it isn't just fighting, you could have it be simply you attacked X faction they'll attack you if they see you for a while, or give more depth and create stories and factions, That would be nice. On the plus, the graphics were good, I enjoyed it for a few minutes, though another though, the combat system. the ability too be able to fire one side then the other in a more rapid way ( there are cannons on both sides of a ship why are we waiting for the left side to reload to fire the right) just a little thought there, seriously a good start but at this point it's not even close to finished.

Has anyone else been bothered by the fact that, when purchasing ship improvements, the amount of money you have is hidden by the "Available in the iPhone app store" button?

The two pieces of classical music are part of the Soundtrack of "Master and Commander" - "Adagio" and "Prelude". Took me some time to find out so hit (+) that everybody can see.

Cant see my cash, due to the poor camera cant see the boats half of the time when im in battle. THE POTENTIAL IS SOOOO GOOD! but it isnt quite there yet...

Single most annoying factor is the auto map rotate in the midst of battle. The map rotating isn't so much annoying on its own, but when it rotates while you are turning your ship, your ship stops turning making you drive right into the line of fire from your enemy. Especially when you have the Corvette or Man of War becomes a very costly thing.

Great game, though I did find a few issues: 1) I found it strange that I could sail right through islands. 2) Sometimes my ship wouldn't enter a port. 3) The iPhone app ad did not allow me to see how much money I was carrying. And finally 4) Just something that pokes at me, they didn't use dollars in those days. I'm just a little bit of a historical accuracy fanatic ;). Otherwise great game. Certainly addicting.

Great game but I worry the developer is going to let this hang. Not even a minor revision in 3 weeks. Too bad had high hopes for this game.

Good game, fun. Graphics are decent and surprising light on system resources. I've liked the other sail games, and this one has more potential. However, there are few things that DESPERATELY need to be fixed. First, turning stops often, getting you hit when the ship ceases to corner. This ALWAYS happens when the view is modified in any way. Also, we NEED a way to tell the ship to shoot from the port or starboard side. Not as critical, still important, some of the game and traveling is a little slow, so a speed up option or something would help. We also need quests, or some sort of direction other than kill ships and buy new ones. Finally, the things others mentioned, tab to close map, sell ships, explanation of merchant shop, camera control.

I found a hidden island in the south where you can buy a ship called the victory. 1,000 armor, 6 cannons, 8 knots, 350 hold, start at the grand cayman and head south til you're off the map and it's that general area. sorry, no gps coords.

also would be nice for customization aspect if you could change color of ship, flags, and sails. Also maybe have some icons you can put on your sails and possible even the option to upload your on graphic for your sails.

Yah, here can be found the bones of a great game. Now finish it and kill the bugs. Users are giving you great feedback. I hope you put it to use and apply the polish that such a great endeavor deserves.

Nice game. Couple of suggestions:
1. Crew - add the ability to hire crew who can increase your stats
- eg. Bosun - repairs ship after battle
- Gunner - more accuracy
- Powdermonkey crews - fire faster
- Quartermaster - better trading
2. Add some sort of market informant - there seems to be no way to predict the markets
3. Allow for a flotilla (control a fleet of ships)
4. Take a look at Sid Meiers Pirates Gold - very old but similar in some aspects.

man i cant believe how much potential this whole unity thing develops. but its sad that most gamecreators think they are finished at 85%.

Please get the god awful 'Apps store' advert OUT OF THE WAY OF MY MONEY!!! @TheIceCreamMan No, it's more like Sid Myer's Pirates.
Great game though.

Nice game. Very enjoyable. Only problem I have that really annoys me is that it seems to be laggy, and sometimes makes me unable to steer for a short period of time, which makes it impossible to dodge canonballs, making combat a lot more frustrating.
Otherwise, keep up the good work and keep improving this game (Y)

a little tip... never sell in tortuga you get little money for every thing but totugas ships are good if you have the 100k for a schooner[300 armor 7 knots a 100 cargo hold 2 cannons 20 damage] or 120k for a brigantine[400 armor 7 knots 170 cargo hold 3 cannons 20 damage]

Nice game, but lots of areas to improve. The docks sometimes do not recognize my ship and I can "crash" into them, or sail in circles without the city options pop-ing up. The prices seems so chaotic it makes "honest" trading frustrating and seemingly impossible to turn any kind of profit. When the battles end, the view stays zoomed in for a while before returning to the zoomed out view...for that matter whats up with that zoomed in view? i-phone ad needs to be moved/removed as it interferes with the game. The enemies seem to be completely random and without any point except to earn money. Despite all this, I still give 3 stars, because it was somewhat fun...i look forward to an improved sequel.

I agree with daroofa, tab key to shut the map is a good idea. but I don't want the ship firing every time I click the screen, I usually click just to center on the screen. Though I must conclude that the unity plugin is used excellently.

I strongly suggest dmitry read these comments, many of them are excellent advice for updates/new games.
I find the combat is lacking something crucial - A way to lower the anchor. What use is the down arrow anyway?
The environment could also have more of an impact. Maybe islands can hurt your ship when running into them. I think wind should have a much larger factor then before too, maybe storms and swells could really change ships directions but with significant warning of course.

as many others already said this is a GREAT game but I dont like upgrade system... fully upgraded caravel is imo way better than new "man of war" ,the best ship in the game, which is really disapointing, true, one upgrade of weapons/hull, which is not cheap ( +really expensive repairs of your new ship), and its ok but... you know what I mean :)

Very nice game but I think the camera is a little buggy...sometimes it does whatever it wants to.
Great job although!

Anyway personally i find hunting other ships more worthwhile that merchanting, cuz the prices keep changing and you can't make a lot of money that way
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
1) Quests - giving gold and reputation for faction (or loss of rep for opposing faction)
2) Reputation!! - determining how hunted you are
3) Factions!! - Its great that the ships fly different colours - but it should have influence on who likes/dislikes you (a.k.a. escorts/shoots on sight)
4) Camera moving
5) Move the Iphone advert somewhere else...

What do the upgrades do the cannon one does it make it reload faster or more damage or both? the hull i guess better armour and sails are clearly speed just the cannon one i don't know
