All the most interesting and challenging custom maps are dead because of the loss of flash. Is it possible for you to update your game so that it works with Supernova? Those maps made this a regular thing for me to come back to.

Theres a bug where if you blow up the bridge with a few seconds to spare, the zombies can still spawn there regardless.

@kodemonkey there are some websites that have the codes to copy and paste for some maps.
I've been playing again a lot lately and I really wish the bug that turns maps white sometimes when loading was fixed. Or a sequel. A sequel would be amazing.

I was thinking, if you cut off all the bridges to your city, how are you going to have power and get food? Just a thought. Maybe the short term threat of the zombies is way more important.

so i just have a question about the custom maps. cuz I saved a whole 100 by 100 map I made but when I try to upload to edit or play the map it shows a security error. Anyone else had this problem?

I'd love to have a sequel which includes stuff like traps and better ways to move your resources around. Still a great game nonetheless

Depends if it has a X on it or a red-colored ammo/boards/survivors sign. If it has a X, it needs more supplies to be built. If it has a red colored sign, it means that there is not enough of that quota supply and more will be sent via depots line.

Best strategy: block off a zombie with barricades. If you are lucky, the zombie will be part of the timer and will continue attacking a wall until it dies. If you block it, if will keep attacking the wall and the timer never resets.

Sometimes my snipers won't fire, I don't understand why, there is ammo and men but it says I'm out of ammo, and I can't "fire into the air" because it says I don't have boards?! Very frustrating :/

I believe this is one of the few games I've ever returned to play after so many years.
There are many great aspects to point out, but I'd just like to give some praise to the writing. Sure, you only have a couple snippets of writing, one at the beginning and one at the end, but they (especially the later) are... just powerful, very powerful writing.
It's been years and I still get goosebumps when I read the ending.

It has been YEARS since i've been trying to defeat a god damn quartermaster random map on this game. FINALLY, i have achieved this ultimate goal! WoW. What a simple and really punishing game. Probably my favorite of all Flash.

@Blueknight: Islands can support a limited population if the soil is good. Also if they can build sniper towers, they can build fishing boats too

Reminds me of other incremental type of games. Especially, the same bugs. I guess incremental is what these games are called. The zombie motif hides the incremental parts.

Ever noticed that if you blow the bridge the colony would eventually just run out of food and supplies and died off anyways?

Lol, I got zombies walking on water. Happens when you detonate the bridge about the same time the zombies appear from a zombie hoard attack on that bridge.

Some tips, zombies do well in hordes, not so well individually. Zombies have no collusion detection, meaning 100+ zombies can be stack on top of each other. Also, zombies can turn mass amounts of survivors into zombies very quickly. That being said you better off having five survivors on five different sniper towers then five survivors on one sniper tower. Try to split the zombies into small controllable waves.
A nightmare scenario is to try to quickly built two sniper towers with 50 ammo each fully upgraded max distance from the nearest depot, 7 squares, with no barricade in front to face a horde of zombies and 11 survivors each. The sniper towers won't finish in time and the snipers won't be able fire. The zombies with demolish the sniper tower and turn all 22 snipers into 22 more zombies.

You have to put https://sites.google.com/view/shatteredcolony in your browser and then look for maps.
Unfortunately there are not many left. Better than nothing, though.
I MISS MORE MAPS. Please, load them up again, anywhere!

@DALES1 - When you go to "New Game" there's an option there "Paste Map". Paste the contents from that google site into there, and you'll get spaghetti--- this map from hell, lol. Thanks for sharing that URL, btw. I didn't know the maps were still accessible.

Sweet, they updated the game so that if a horde attacks from a bridge at the same time that you blow it, it blows the zombies up too!
