It is strange that the only building that can be built without the bug stopping you is the workshop.
But, I've got a work around that might just give you carpal tunnel but it does let you play the game almost normally
(Hotkeys still don't work everything has to be done with clicks)
You can place new buildings next to already built buildings so you can do 1 of two things if you can't build a workshop next to the point you want to build on:
1 start a barricade line over to the spot and have them be immediately torn down OR
2 build snipers/stockpiles to the spot and then immediately destroy and workshop over them

Damn... this one ALMOST works again.
The game loads and can start the campaign and random maps, which it couldn't do a month ago last time I checked
but huge swaths of every map are "dead" tiles that you just can't place anything on. you can beat some random maps even with this, but it also just ignores many of your other inputs.

Nooooooooo!! I come back pry once a year or so to binge this game. I saw it got removed from armorgames, found it here, but it doesn't work :(

This is the single most addictive game on Kongregate and I am desperately jonesing for it, come on Ruffle! Even years later, I perk up whenever I see a church in a big grassy lot with nothing else on it.

Great Ruffle integration... It worked fine with SuperNova (on a separate window), now it doesn't with Ruffle on the website...

Good game, but my greatest obstacle hands down is the friendly AI. "Turn and run in a straight line to the safe house 4 squares away" was apparently omitted from the training.

All the most interesting and challenging custom maps are dead because of the loss of flash. Is it possible for you to update your game so that it works with Supernova? Those maps made this a regular thing for me to come back to.

Theres a bug where if you blow up the bridge with a few seconds to spare, the zombies can still spawn there regardless.

@kodemonkey there are some websites that have the codes to copy and paste for some maps.
I've been playing again a lot lately and I really wish the bug that turns maps white sometimes when loading was fixed. Or a sequel. A sequel would be amazing.

I was thinking, if you cut off all the bridges to your city, how are you going to have power and get food? Just a thought. Maybe the short term threat of the zombies is way more important.

so i just have a question about the custom maps. cuz I saved a whole 100 by 100 map I made but when I try to upload to edit or play the map it shows a security error. Anyone else had this problem?

I'd love to have a sequel which includes stuff like traps and better ways to move your resources around. Still a great game nonetheless

Depends if it has a X on it or a red-colored ammo/boards/survivors sign. If it has a X, it needs more supplies to be built. If it has a red colored sign, it means that there is not enough of that quota supply and more will be sent via depots line.

Best strategy: block off a zombie with barricades. If you are lucky, the zombie will be part of the timer and will continue attacking a wall until it dies. If you block it, if will keep attacking the wall and the timer never resets.

Sometimes my snipers won't fire, I don't understand why, there is ammo and men but it says I'm out of ammo, and I can't "fire into the air" because it says I don't have boards?! Very frustrating :/

I believe this is one of the few games I've ever returned to play after so many years.
There are many great aspects to point out, but I'd just like to give some praise to the writing. Sure, you only have a couple snippets of writing, one at the beginning and one at the end, but they (especially the later) are... just powerful, very powerful writing.
It's been years and I still get goosebumps when I read the ending.

It has been YEARS since i've been trying to defeat a god damn quartermaster random map on this game. FINALLY, i have achieved this ultimate goal! WoW. What a simple and really punishing game. Probably my favorite of all Flash.

@Blueknight: Islands can support a limited population if the soil is good. Also if they can build sniper towers, they can build fishing boats too
