Selling all the junk is quite a chore. I could do well without the confirmation for selling items. Just drag it on the sell and sold. Or auto-sell all that crap.
Regarding that game I am looking for: It was a DOS (maybe Windows?) Freeware game. Nothing fancy from a company. It is not Mystic Towers. ;)

*approaches Final Boss* This is it. The big man himself...here we go. *begins fight* Man, I hope I don't die, that woul- *defeats him in less than 10 seconds*
...that was somewhat anti-climatic.

A few tips. 1) You keep all artefacts, spells and gem boosts from one game to the next. 2) Unwanted artefacts can be sold. 3) The money you end one game with is what you'll start the next with. 4) If you're at a shop and don't think you can make it to the next, sell all items, potions and unwanted artefacts to generate money, escape wings out and restart.

lol got two eyes and a broadsword (special item that you can keep forever) on the very first floor (not the shop floor) on a brand new game...Sweet

6) As soon as you get one of the healing spell, forget about offensive ones. Use your mana exclusively to get back your health points.7) In the shop, give priority to healing potions because they are rare in the dungeon when there is a high probability that you will get the item that you want from a chest (unless you are at level 99 of course ;)8)Which item is the best to equip? Well, physical resistance is more important than magic defense, and 100 is the max for any elemental defense, so an object which grants a small protection in all categories is better than one that gives a huge amount for a single element. Though, if you enjoy to switch items in between every fight and choose the latter, I won't scold you...9) Now, have fun! :D

12ESP3CT, you need the shining gear :3. Makes the game more fun when you only keep SOME items, makes you feel more progressive. Also, the no-level thing was a AWESOME twist, only thing I hate about this game is the chests at the shopowner, I NEED THAT WEAPON O>E

It would be helpful to have equipment sets to switch between when dealing with enemies that use magic and others that use melee, or if there are some enemies you mostly need to outspeed.

@Emperorerror - Although it isn't a perfect system, to use an attacking spell, enter into a battle and drag the spell onto the battle. A little meter will appear under your character, slowly filling with red (It takes slightly longer than a normal attack time to fill up, almost guaranteeing that your enemy will hit you). Once it's fall, there's a kind of a thump noise, and the damage amount will appear in an element specific color. Blue = Water, Red = Fire, Tan = Earth, White = Wind.

It doesn't matter if there are 2 or 1000 enemies, if they are between me and a gem or artifact, I will tear them to SHREDS.

I've got some very simple tips!
1) Always go for treasure box's, artifacts and regular items.
2) Ignore money bags that are gaurded. We don't want to lose life for 10 coins.
3) Avoid battles unless you're sure you can kill them in one hit. Killing one hit monsters are good for building gold.
4) Stock up on health potions
5) Sell extra artifacts, but never sell artifacts that you only have one of. Say you have a weapon that's stronger than your artifact weapon. If you sell the artifact weapon, you'll start over later with a dagger. :(
6) Feel free to replace artifacts with stronger regular items. Artifacts are really just good starter equipment.
7) ENJOY IT :DD

i managed to make it from floor 19 to floor 79 without dying or escaping. then i died on floor 80something because i didn't realize how low my health was, and had to restart on floor 19. i think i died a little inside.

Huh, a challenge for the brave, after the final boss, beat the dungeon from 1 - 99 in one go, no shopping, and must collect ALL gold chests and stat gems

It would be pretty cool if the character sprite would change when we equipped different items like helmets, mail, leggings, etc.

this is great, but the first shopkeeper NEEDS to have potions more often because i have a 1/10 chance of getting a shopkeeper having potions
>:(

It's a game that can be a bit frustating at the begging, but when you pass the floor 20 it gets easier and more enjoyable.
I reccomend this game is very good :)
5/5

The only problem with the game is that you can't see the items you equip on your character. Add that, and maybe some more engaging combat, in the second one, and i'll love it.

Excellent game. Idea; combinations of same type of objects (e.g. pure gold helm, pure gold gloves) yield partial / full set bonuses. That way 'bad' but related objects combined may beat 'good' but unrelated objects. The idea of having two types of items (items in yellow boxes you keep with you, items in red boxes that disappear over different games) is fun. But just a thought experiment. What if you can upgrade items? what if you can break down other items for fabric you need for upgrades? What if the gems you find are ingredients with which you can upgrade your character, e.g. currency to BUY f.e. magic skills?
If magic really was ranged it would be much better balanced. What if some enemies also have some range? Would change the dynamics in an interesting way. 5/5 from me!

My personal guide/tips: Get artifacts always / If you can ones-shot a monster, do it, It gives you 1 MP free (All monsters give 1+MP) / I tried getting more agility or damage and defense, I liked more dmg/def. / I prefer to buy potion and ether first than other things, unless there is a big upgrade / Dont stack magic. / Dont use magic attacks, you will need that MP for healing spells / Think like this game was a puzzle, sometimes you can get a lot more chest, bags, gems, artifacts without killing all monsters, unless is one-shot monster, dont waste your HP on that monster, not worth the 10-20gold they give you. / And becarful with Mages, Vampires, Whelps and Golems, they hit hard / Best tip: Remeber its a puzzle-like game, so try to exploit that to the max, dont rush all monster, because it will get your hurt. And if you think you will die the next monster, better use the wings, better to start the last checkpoint, than start your last wing.

I liked this game a lot, as I love roguelikes. Varied backgrounds, enemies, and gear were excellent, music was good, and the graphics were about as complex as I'd like to see for a game like this.
A few comments:
Challenge - I didn't die once; only for the first 30 floors or so was it challenging to stay alive, and that was more hoping to find potions than the game being hard. I know luck is a huge aspect of roguelikes, but I think it could be improved.
Magic - I didn't use a spell the entire game besides healing. There's no time to do so when I don't think a single battle lasted more than five rounds. Most were over in 3,
Elemental defense - why give equipment elem. defense levels higher than 100 if they're just going to be capped?
Inventory - selling things was tedious, instant selling via shift-clicking should be allowed. Another alternative would be assigning a junk category that auto-sells.
Ending - boss was way too weak, and the game just hangs after killing him? Disappointing.

Hint: when you get the eye of wealth click on a chest or gold bag and it will show the contenets of the chest/gold bag

*Goes from level 19 to 70-something* Hey, I'm doing pretty sweet! I think I can go all the way to the end without using those wings! *forgets to keep track of hp and dies* ... NOOOOOOO!!!! ALL MY SWEET ARTIFACTS!!! AAAAAAHHHHH!!!

@typodestroyer9001 i agree with you but the problem is not the HARD difficulty the real problem is the time spend to win the badge specially this only a lucky or pro will complete the game in less than 3 hours i spend much more than that but i already mastered the game with awesome stats

Great little game. I thought the difficulty scaling would be higher as it only took me 3-4 escape wings to complete the game, but still fun. 5/5

Best in genre. I chek this game sometimes since it released.. There must be a sequel but there is not. This makes me sad..

good game, definitely challenging but I made it down to 100 in one sitting. the spell system is not laptop friendly however, and the bags of gold didn't yield enough so not much incentive to battle creatures in order to get to them. Would have been cool if you could actually see the character wearing the equipment. 4/5

The sprite for the character should change, depending on what equipment he has. Like, say... he has a Silver Helmet, an Ancient Golden Armor, Barbarian Gloves, a Bronze Shield, Assassin's Plate Legs, Magma Boots, I would imagine him wearing a silver helmet, golden chest armor, brown gloves, with an orange shield, purple leg plates, and dark red boots.
