@kevin saz, actually, it is chain mail with a space, now, why not get out of the comments and start actually playing the games...

Hey everyone! I'm hard at work on The Enchanted Cave 2 at the moment, so if you're interested, check out @dustinaux on Twitter for the latest development updates, screenshots and gifs of what's to come! :D

Wow, how have I never played this game before? Instantly addicted, fun, puzzling almost, for a game that is fairly old this is incredible. Can't wait to beat this one, then try the sequel :)

is there a way to make the game screen bigger, cause the text is too small for people to read, Kong please put this game in a bigger window. Hit plus + if you agree. ------->

Beat it on my second run into the dungeon somehow.
Large health pots were dropping like crazy from level 80+ so that certainly helped. My method was equipping items with as much agility as possible (assassin items, especially those wonderful rings later on) and attack. Just be sure not to sacrifice too much defense for the sake of a couple agility points. Spending mana potions wisely to cast mega heal was a must as well. Killed the "surprise" boss with 5 large health pots and 2 large mana pots to spare! :)
Well made flash game by the developer, had a lot of fun!

Went from floor 39 straight to 94, was unmindful for a moment and forgot to use health potion after before battle, died. Several hours of progress lost -.- Lesson learned: Use your escape wings! It's better to farm gems and some artifacts. Otherwise you might have significant trouble to start again even from the next to last shop, if you only have a crappy weapon or no good defense among your artifacts.

I was never into games like this, but I don't know what sparked my interest in this one. Either way, it was magical, interesting, and overall, an enjoyable game to play indeed. Also, did anyone else notice that the design of some floors looked like numbers?

How to use items guide:
Wings: drag it to ur character
Potion: drag it to ur character
Equip: drag it to ur eq slot
Spells: WHEN IN A FIGHT drag to ur character
eyes are passive, gems are permaboost (WOOT!)

Sometime I can't help but think the randomness in this game is quite set on giving me garbage in the gold chests. I am on level 60, 3 gold chests spawned, and the haul was a Steel Scimitar, a Greater Fire Amulet, and Barbarian Armor. FAIL!

Loved this game, got to floor 100 in one sitting, so that says something right there, because usually I get bored fast. Kudos to the maker of this game! Also, someone mentioned a bestiary already, and I think that would be awesome if you added it. This game could be so much more, keep working on it, please. Thank you for a great time.

Originally came here Monday for today's Badge of the Day, but found myself staying for the simple yet solid and addictive gameplay!

Angry goblin. I feel weird reading that name. Until I started reading enemies names he was known to me as a turtle man.

Yes! A Floor Clearance Bonus could improve the game, because you always choose either not to fight the monsters or only the monsters you know you can one-hit. A Clearance Bonus would encourage players to take the risk of killing all for that little extra.

I must say this game is absolutely wonderful. The addition of the Escape Wings and other artifacts are a great touch giving the game almost infinite replay ability. I would love to see more from this developer, possibly a sequel ;)? 5/5 and favorited

I just went from level 1 to the bottom and killed the boss without escaping or respawning on a shop level. It feels like there should be an achievement or badge or something for that. Great game though, 5/5.

The shopkeeper despised me the first time he saw me. He knew this I wouldn't last long. But this I kept on surpassing his expectations. Sooner or later I would be able to discover the shopkeeper's secret stash of dirty magazines and he had to get into action himself.

Like Givememynickname, I too am having the issue where after the first floors stairs I am having a bronze screen and I can't see the game, but I am still able to move around, I think at least.

going down on a rouguelike 100 level dungeon collecting items to kill gutierrez from freakazoid?, make a sequel, shut up and take my money xD! (5/5)

Also, always take the path of least resistance (monsters that you can one shot are best, but low hitting ones are ok too. The worst ones to choose are like dragons and golems, who hit 50+s and have tons of hp

keys to the game: most of the items you need are found in chests check those. always grab crystals they are permanent boosts. choose your opponents wisely sometimes there is an easier way. buy all the health pots you can to stay alive and get further and if you are trouble take wings and put them on your character on the screen to start over with all your boosts, artifacts, and gold. Sometimes you just have to restart it took me three tries to beat it and at first I was angry about losing all my equipment but if you play smart you can keep it until you have to run and all the artifacts(gold background items) are kept. one more thing if you can make it to any level with a 9 at the end ex. 19, 29, etc... you can sell off all your items and keep the gold before you restart.

it would be nice if you could choose which shop you start at because it is possible to reach a point where the shop you start at is too difficult for you to advance more than 2 or 3 floors without first collecting stronger equipment on the lower floors.

It would be a good idea in the sequel if there were secrets in the levels, like a certain shop level that had a wall that you could go through and grab the inaccessible treasures, or to a bonus stage where the monsters dropped unusually high amounts of gold. Also, adding unlock-able modes (like endless or a how-many-levels-can-you-do-in-3-runs kind of thing) that are unlocked by achievements or beating the game would be nice. Finally, add a difficulty option (could be just easy/hard). All in all, just a few things that could be implemented to make an awesome game! :D P.S. Gave 5/5
Man I love secrets. The sequel will definitely have bunches of them. And I'll have a hardcore mode or something too for those wanting more of a challenge.

Tip: Potions, potions, and potions. Did I mention you need potions? Cause your gonna need 'em. You can get insanely far by selling all the crap you don't need and buying potions.
