this is a good game, but all edgebee games require real money to excell....and frankly..thats the only thing i dont like about it

I like the game. Though I would not pay to play this, I would be willing to wait or work longer and harder (in-game.) at getting to where the Tokens led others via a shortcut. But the waiting time is a little steep. Tokens is for those addicted to the game and willing to pay up for making it all go faster and become more competitive. The issue is that u do have to entice the others to play, and u don't permit yourself too lose potential clients by having them run off in frustration. Though this is a great game, it is not the finished product some of us pay a monthly fee to play. Normally games like these are purchased at a flat fee, no continuous costs. U should be proud of what u created but not too proud and ask for more than seems reasonable to so many. I still feel u did a great job and thus, much obliged for the game :).

It's a great concept and extremely fun game that gets brought down because of microtransactions. Maybe they're justified because of the Online system but I'd rather have an offline game.

This game is really good, but I swear everything requires tokens!
I can buy this with gold? Perfect! Oh wait... I need tokens now.
It's just... why?!

Another good game ruined by greed. I understand donating to devs but this is so far past that, it's embarrassing. Peddle your ideas to a studio if you're only after money and stop whoring on Kongregate.

Watching the clock tick, I did a little math. A package of 3 days is 50 coins, and about 10 minutes of gameplay on 3x speed, yes? 100 coins is 10 kreds, which is a dollar. That's 4 increments purchased per hour (since each hour has 2 freebies)--which works out to about 20 kreds per hour (or $2.00) to run the game at max speed. To put this into context, the average console RPG provides what--just under 100 hours of gameplay in a thorough playthrough? Buying a new, full-priced xbox RPG and playing it through once will average out to about $0.75 an hour. Even RPGs that are burned for being "too short to be worth a new purchase" end up costing you $1.50/hr of gameplay, tops. TL/DR version: These people don't know how to realistically scale income.

You have to pick one or the other. The move to remove day caps in Sorcery Quest was a good one, why not here? Limiting players who don't pay only alienates them further to the point they don't ever want to pay. You have to choose, Day cap, or tokens. One has to go, or the game won't be able to chug along much further.

"Is this how you treat all your customers?" Nope, just the ones who insist on paying half price for an item, and then get angry when I suggest something slightly cheaper.

I don't know about you guys, but I think someone got the vibe. I just won 250 tokens in the last Five or Six days from the spin thingy.

"How about you do your job right next time?" Well maybe you could ask for something alternative to see if I have it, instead of refusing and storming out of my store

NPC: Bleh, I guess I could trash it.
Or, you know, you could sell it for a lower price aside from 150% of what it's worth. That could work, greedy bastards.

Why is that I can spend a week (in real days) of playing and then someone can walk off with all I earned and more in one theft? While I have some other issues with the Sept. 6 update, this one is making me wish to quit playing; any game that caters to bullies loses my interest. I hope someone at Edgebee is reading this: I was going to donate a little cash to you guys for all the hours of fun...but then you took the fun back, so I will use that cash on XBLA. My loss is your loss.

Seriously guys? Ok, this is directly to the devs: Having people pay for in game content will not work. Period. There are PLENTY of other ways to get money too! 1. Put in Kong API! 2. Make this game exclusive to Kong! 3. Update frequently to build a loyal player base 4. PROFIT.
With Kongregate you can make a max of 50% Ad revenue. If each game shows 2 ads, each costing the advertiser 50 cents a viewing, than you would make a quarter a play. If you were to get a MUNDANE 100 plays a day, that would still be a 25$ Check a day, and if you had them paying in checks, you would get a check for 100$ in the mail EVERY 4 DAYS. Not sure about you, but this sure as hell beats gaining about 500$ initialy and than having to think of a new getrichquick scheme!

Wow...so even if you wait the hour to play another day you have to wait successive hours to play successive days. Yeah I don't see this game going anywhere. Too bad...it's kind of interesting.

i wsh these idiots customers would quit coming in asking for items that can only be unlocked with tokens. just another pathetic attempt to get money from us poor players. you rich people are lucky.

I woulda been fine until I went f-ing bankrupt because I bought a stupid carpenter's workshop and got the notice that I can't ACTUALLY build it until i'm in a freaking guild. PUT THAT SOMEWHERE AS A WARNING FIRST YOU TWAT!

Congrats Devs! You've made a game that I really like BUT that I don't play!
More than that, your game made me buy someone else's game!!
Since I have no patience for the whole guild trading nonsense, and since you limit my game play, and since I refuse to pay for something that I can't play unlimited, I googled for other merchant based games, found Recettear, tried the demo, liked it and gave them my money.
Congrats!

Am I a bad person for hiring someone at the beginning of the day, working them to the bone, and then firing them just before close so I don't have to pay them? At least it saves money when your shop is going down the hole.

I tend to enjoy games like this, but certainly not this one in particular. I want to complain about accidentally using half of my free tokens, but then I remember that those 100 tokens would have been trivial anyway. 25 tokens to research a new recipe, and then 25 more just for one ingredient? At least I can buy upgrades with enough gold, right? Except that after spending that gold, now I find out that I don't actually get the upgrade without guild help?! Okay, remain calm. Go join a guild. Where are the guilds? So... I can't get my upgrade without a guild, but there's no way to find and join a guild? And now I find out that if someone comes into my shop and asks for an item I don't have, and rejects my suggestion, I lose experience?! By definition, isn't it impossible to lose experience? Oh well. I'm done here, time to wait for this game to get shuffled off the main page.

How to get free beer: Go to a shop and ask if they give you some beer, because you have to fight a giant turkey. Then, the next day, go to the shop and say you realised you were to weak to take on the monster, but do not give the beer back!

"Try to become a successful merchant! Sell the same goods to the same people over and over again!" I think they've founded their business model on their own game...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
when 90% of the comments are rage about the token system why is the rating of this game so high? If the game rating drops below 3.00 the dev will realize that he has to change things, as long as it's 3.82 the dev will think it's not that bad

An archer walks into a store ask an antidote for $130 dollars when the merchant bought it for regular price $230, so the merchant tries to haggle the price so the archer says "Right. You're still making quite a profit!," You see the problem here?
