This game is supposed to be like the games of old, the ones that were near impossible by the end and you just wanted to smash the game into oblivion, but instead you just kept putting in quarters.

The difficulty of the game isnt derived from any actually challenging levels. Just the unresponsive controls. If the controls were more responsive instead of lagging behind the actual button press the game would be a piece of cake.

It's not that the controls are loose because they are pretty nicely tuned. The problem is the momentum in the game, and how different it is with meatboy on the ground and in the air. On the ground meatboy sticks to everything like... well, a wad of meat, which is good because it makes sense. When meatboy goes airborne it feels like he might as well have wings. Any twitch in one direction or another will send him flying way too hard, which is bad because he is a wad of meat. Neither a wad of feathers nor a winged wad of meat.

Fans of these games love to say crap like "The controls are so loose that if you screw up, you've got no one to blame but yourself." Which is a big fat load of bull. The controls are precisely why this game sucks balls. The controls aren't "loose" -- they're spastic. Simple platform jumping is an agonizing chore in this game because even a simple tap on the directional is enough to send MB flying halfway across the screen, making even simple actions like trying to line up your jumps severely hazardous. I don't give a damn what anyone says; these games are BROKEN. I'd rather play E.T. on the Atari than this crap.

This game is still terrible. I have less control of my character than I would like when precision moves are important? And many of the levels bear very striking resemblance to each other.

if i fail my semester i am going to blame it on you meat boy.

funny game but needs more thinking and less lazzy controlls...

The controls are obviously purposely frustrating, it's part of the challenge. This game brings back many 8 bit memories of the games i always thought were "cheap"... sometimes i'm a pixel away from the hazard and i still die even though i didn't touch it. on level 12, I had rescued band aid girl many times, just to lose the level because I still got shot with a projectile... even after that vampire thing, whatever it is, took her back again!!!!

yeah I have to agree with 1223tr the controls dont respond quite frequently and it just takes the game to a new level of frustration. just like some of the letters I amtryng o type right ow. Love the music though

This is one of those games where the difficulty comes from difficult controls, not any sort of problem solving or ingenuity. That makes it frustrating, not fun.

the controls are supposed to be slippery. if you are having too much trouble with this game, I suggest you never ever ever try Moneyseize.

" When Edmund McMillen says "It's peanut-butter jelly time!", every gosh diddly darn person on the North-Western continent sits down and has a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. " and I did.

the controls are so bad, I die in the first split second on some levels, just because I press a key a millisecond too much or not enough. I am not even sure keyboard controls have this kind of sensitivity.

The controls are a bit too slippery for my liking, but I guess it just reflects that you are controlling a piece of meat.

There's something weird about the balance between the huge jump power and the capability of the air control to stop it.

When sliding down a wall, It would be nice to be able to press away from the wall and jump at the same time. if i press away from the wall a milisecond before i jump, i will just fall. Maybe this is why many complain of bad controls?

I thought about playing this game. The concept is solid, and I usually like these kind of games. But I know I will not get used to these god awful controls. Terrible. There is a difference between making the controls challenging and making them unplayable. Precision jumping is a joke. This game is so f*cking poor its badges should be taken away. 0/5

it would be WAY more easier if the controls are not too sensible. I can not count how many times i slipped because of pressing arrow buttons a bit longer than it needed to be
