i do like this game but it kinda gets a lil boring after a while, gonna have to get the 30 levels in several goes. i think if there was a way to make the ground leveling a little less of a grind then it might improve things, maybe for a sequel. I'll be coming back tho so it's not all bad :p 4/5.

Hahaha, I really enjoyed this! though the only way I got through it was by building giant mountains and drowning the rest of the world 500 mp at a time...

@dryfter That's exactly what i was trying not to say, no ones copied each other, there just some one elses interpretation of a genre. Yeah ideas are borrowed modified and improved upon, but last time i checked that's a large part of the media industry and even the industrial & engineering industry. For example, Alexander Bell didn't invent the telephone, he just improved upon some other guys ideas and made it practical.

@ xcona lol CoD totally copied MoH :D i get what you're saying, but you must be too young to have actually played them, since MoH came out 4 years BEFORE CoD. (which btw, happened to be around how long it took to develop CoD, which pretty much shows its a blatant rip-off)

Haha, nah it was the totems and controling nature reminded me of From Dust on the 360, i've nevered played Populous. Still, this is a pretty good game, and i'm not saying you've copied any one, because that'll be like saying CoD and MoH are copying each other.

i see in the response's that your making a MMO if its like Reprisal it'll be awesome (+ agree) it need's more control over the land i took me a while to get it right and i only realized that you could shrink land at the end of the game xD

Little suggestion: On "get new totens" levels, make a requirement to first exterminate the opponent then steal the totem. Otherwise you can just make a very little city and spam heros to the totem waypoint, like a 2 minutes match.

How to win: 1. Make all land the highest possible and flat. 2. Let your people build a powerful base. 3. When you have a good mana influx, water storm repeatedly, the enemy will never have time to rebuild, as their bases are usually near sea level.

*uses water storm* yay i killed all the enemies! *one second later* aww it killed all my people.... so what happens now?

Hard game. Island 4 is nearly impossible, both skirmish and campaign mode give you a small chance. This happens every time I play. I get a tiny, bumpy island and the enemy gets a big flatter island. Sort this out or I'll never play again.

Pretty easy and with more than one greater flaw, but fun nonetheless.
My biggest issue is the camera: moving around by key is tedious and using the mouse pauses the game. Why is the screen cut off and blurry at the edge?
The game is paused when dragging just so you don't miss and of the action as I felt it was unfair if the CPU players would trounce you are you were 'navigating' the islands :D

I have a tip to all of you...
Increase the level of your ground then Use Water Storm!
*Make sure that you can wipe out all the tribes in just 1 blow...

Good version of populous. Too much time is spent unlocking spells though. This coming from some one who liked 1 more than 2. Pop 1 seemed to have harder opponents than this. The entire time I played this I didn't lose a single match. Maybe skirmish will give me a challenge.
:D It's funny I like pop 2 more than 1. There were both great games. The desktop version has new 'challenge' modes which are being added too for more island fun!

nice game, loved populous. Later levels can be abused with tsunami spell (last wind spell), just build one level above other players and spam tsunami until win.
I don't know what but something is missing. maybe some sort of strategy. Doing same thing during 30 levels gets boring.

Took a while to get used to the graphics, but definitely worth it. Spamming terraform seems to be the way to go, I beat levels 1-20 using only terraform (and fire column, occasionally, just to satisfy my pyromania, but I didn't need it.) It does seem like the levels are getting harder, though. 5/5

Teraform can be a bit abusable, when a person builds a house if you level the terrain you'll easilly make that 1 little guy into a warrior. Basically.. as long as you spam terriform you don't need the other spells as often.
Also what exactly is the point to most of these spells earth has ? (Way point useful for level 1 never useful agian).

I am truly enjoying this game! I hate the fact that I need to go to sleep, before I crash my face into the keyboard. Well done! 5/5

I came back. Hurray for that dragging can be used to raise/lower terrain. A real time saver.............
I don't know if this was in there originally, but there is a limit as to how many cities you can have. Kind of a downer as I would love to populate the entire sector. And if you fill your limit cap at home it is basically impossible to conquer the enemy since you cannot build a city to prevent them from rebuilding their cities. But it is only sorta bothersome.........
And I really like the Skirmish mode. I think I have beaten around 11 session. So much greatness.

its an incredible game but i have to agree with globbo that its to easy and i would like to add that it gets kinda routine
terraform
expand
attack
or terraform
expand
waypoint
but still 5/5
