30 islands! Im playing this like for an hour, and still not halfway trough!
Brilliantly done, i love this kind of games.

It'd be awesome if we could anchor our cursor on the tile we're working in, as said in some messages, so we could build bigger pieces of land faster. But it'd be even better if there was a shortcut to make automatic terraforming around the buildings, as we see in Populous 2. I loved the game anyway, although in some moments it was too easy...

Great game, I had some fun with it. But the controls could be better (just look at the top comments for suggestions, because those guys pretty much mentioned everything I wanted to say). Oh yeah, the cursor should be a single square and you should be able to increase the size (4 squares, 9 squares etc.) for easier tearraforming. Of course you could also increase the manacost for using a bigger square, but that's up to you. Also the manacost for spells could be decreased a bit and a random map generator would be awesome to keep playing with options like how many tribes, difficulty, etc. Or maybe even add a map editor :)

points for creativity but this is sooo boring. the mana gains to slow and its imposible to tell if i'm improving my settlement or gonna send into the ocean. Nothing has tool tips. This game is not finished. Finish and release until then 1 star!

Just to make it clear to everyone, if the area around a settlement is surfaced then, it will grow bigger making it harder for enemy units to destroy it and will allow more units spawn from it. Furthermore the more population you have the faster your mana replenishes for you to cast spells.

i didn't get why need to use "forest" power. also, terraforming needs drag and drop, or a choice to terraform a bigger area for more mana

My game froze up on the "Island Conquered" information screen after the first mission. It was sad, because the game looked fun.

It would be cool if you could play a little bit longer after you're done with your mission. Either that, or for finishing the game you win a free play mode where you can fight, build settlements, etc.

So glad I sorted out my minor lapse of intelligence. Great Game. I agree with Rykuth it gives me nice memories of Populous.

My save was erased or soemthing, i played the game, loved it, and later found that my game was not saved, is saving automatic or what?(also: <3 the game, faved and 5/5)

I think it's great and agree with Rykuth's and Raethyan's comments. I loved Populous in my day, but both clarity of view in the isometric tiered landscape and cursor manipulation were big problems in the original Populous. These things aren't corrected here. With these old issues fixed you have more than a homage to Peter Molyneux's brainchild, but a proper update. Oh, and I definitely dig the Amiga-style chiptunes. Kudos to Eric Skiff.

Ok restarted and click on a location next to the totem that I was clicking before and it worked. No idea why but at least I'm getting on to next part of tutorial

I can't get past, place the waymarker beside the forest totem. I though it was something with the iso throwing me off. But I used all the free mana the guy gives you to terra a nice plateau and I've click on every tile around the totem but I still get the message. Not quit etc

great but too easy :( terraforming must be very more expensive (x10) to add some challenge and strategie to the game.

You really nailed the feel of Populous. A few things I feel could be improved though: one is the cursor placement. A lot of times I had problems getting it exactly where I wanted it, especially when terraforming. I think the cursor should snap to the nearest node to the mouse, currently it heavily favors snapping to lower elevations. I also think that the islands where you only need to collect a totem need to be tweaked as well. It was too easy to just run in a grab the totem.
That said the game as a whole is great, especially the art.

Great game, some things that would make it even better; 1) A fast forward button. 2) Allowing our cursor to affect more than one tile at a time, it gets kinda tedious when you want to make a huge base, leveling each piece of ground one at a time. 3) Some way to rotate the camera or move it

The isometric view is a bit awkward when looking at things behind a hill. Maybe provide a way to rotate the view 90 degrees as well?
