[/cont]Finally, a more fleshed-out guide would be great. The effect of your powers isn't really defined when you get them, and there's no manual to speak of. I found myself having to play a whole game just to build up the mana to use my new power to find out what it did. Also, there's mention on the game website of different characteristics for the different tribes, which is cool, but nowhere is it mentioned what they might be. Does Green spawn faster than Yellow? Is Red more aggressive than either? That would add a whole other layer to play, but it's useless if I can't discover what the differences are.
Finally, a map editor would be great, as would an adjustable difficulty. Short of multiplayer, this would give the game way more replay value.
Anyway, great game. Just needs a few tweaks to be really excellent.

[/cont]Second, a few things I haven't seen mentioned. First, while the hotkeys between the Totem powers are great, it's very time-consuming to have to select the power you want to use each time you want to use it (except for terraforming). If I want to cast 3 or 4 whirlpools in a row, why can't I just select the power once and use it until I change my selection? On a related note, why isn't the keyboard navigation extended to the Totem powers themselves, rather than just the Totem categories of wind, fire, etc.? I find myself using certain powers far more often than others, so it would be nice to be able to assign them to hotkeys, or maybe just to be able to, say, press 1 to select the Earth Totem category, and then scroll through the powers using other keys. Having to move the cursor to the power desired and then back to where you want to use it really slows play, especially when the enemy AI can respond so quickly. [cont]

Great game, lots of fun. Couple of notes. First, things others have already covered - the tendency of the cursor to move on its own when terraforming, the odd AI of your settlers (trying to attack nearer but inaccessible enemies as opposed to further but reachable ones, their inability to move to waypoints that aren't on a straight-line path from them, their tendency to build settlements whenever they are, rather than making any attempt to efficiently utilize the space available, e.g. making a house on the very edge of a flat, empty plain, etc.). Fixes on these would really help make the game less frustrating. [cont]

I would definitely pay money for an "extended" version of this game with Sandbox mode, more missions, and the land textures tightened up a bit to make elevation more obvious (I frequently think north-facing downhills are actually uphills)... maybe where you place your cursor should show a number somewhere on screen that represents elevation on that point? Anyway, I'd pay $20 easily for a slightly extended version of this game.

For you guys stuck on level 19... use a backdooring technique. Build land straight up, and destroy all connections to land. Then make the Golden Gate Bridge to the fire hero totem, create waypoints to guide your people, and voila; the mission ends. Yep, if they were given 10 minutes you would be dead, but you won ^^

Lesson learned: with enough whirlpools, you can take out half an island (the half with your enemy on it). So, if you're feeling overwhelmed, obliterate half of the enemy-controlled universe with whirlpool after whirlpool.

A quick and easy way to beat island 30 is to extend your area to the right on the mini-map and then build a small platform about 4X4 tiles that has a high elevation. Then just wait until you have 500 mana and use the "water storm". Use the spell a total of three times and you should be good :)

aww man i wish i could make my people settle in spots where they will be most useful instead of the nearest spot to them that they are able to take. i always have to take time out of trying to attack an enemy to just set up extra spots to keep form being taken over.

This has got to be one of the best games I have played in a long time. I absolutely loved it.
There are a few things that could make it better, but off the top of my head all I can come up with would be a kind of free play mode.
Amazing game, and great tribute to the greats of the past!!

Original artistic style, reminds of good ol' populous 5/5
Only complain: there must be more variety of buildings, after some time its boring to watch land fulled with castles, which are the same, but for all other aspects its perfect.

Pro tip: In the options menu change the mode from "Artistic" to "Basic" This will make everything easier to see and all in all make the game more enjoyable.

Can you please improve the ai of the people I givethem so much land an yet they build in the same spot and wait until an earth hero shows up...

The strategy to #19 is not to fight but to build your defenses a little then create a way point at the fire totem, once you get the fire totem you win + to help others

Could you make it so that your final settlement could be roughly four times the size of the castle? It could be like a giant town with a wall around it like an equivalent to the great wall of china. This would make it really fun for when i have 10+ castles ;P.

Little strategy tip: If you can terraform down to water in the middle of someone else's land, you can place a whirlpool there and watch the destruction.

Wind totem seems like the best choice for attacking. Most spells are cheap, and therefore you can spam them during attack. Lightning storm is a quick and fast attack able to take out several buildings. Whirlpool is good for harassment and, when spammed, for destroying large areas of (enemy) land. Twister can take out an enemy line, and the wind hero is cheap and gives a hero in place of the leader. Also, water storm can wipe out entire tribes. Little info I picked up.

Armaggedon totem sucks, i tried the last level at least 5 times, and when i was winning i think "i want to try that last totem, i might win faster" and i lost because of that shit. The game is great but i wont play again that last level.

The hardest thing is getting them to listen to you. Sometimes I had to wait waaay to long for them to get out of their houses, gather at gathering point and build more houses. When the other tribe was growing in power, my people were chilling at their houses... no idea why
