I agree that this game should have instructions... but you guys are missing something.... the level objective is shown before you start the level. it clearly shows how to collect a totem in the first level... what is it you don't get? totems are always collected by gather a person where their icon is... I didn't get this game at first.. but I got the hard badge and I wonder how I could such a complete idiot when I first played it... gamers today seem to miss the point and fun in just wanna figure out the games on their own and want instructions handed to them....

I missed the part in the tutorial where it said you need flat ground to build things, so I spent like half an hour trying lvl three and failing. For everyone trying to get the botd: WHEN YOU FLATTEN GROUND, YOUR CITY GETS BIGGER. When you have a big city it automatically makes soldiers.

I'm going to be plain honest: The pixel art and that 32 bit music just totally pisses me off. I quit the game after 5 minutes of gameplay because of this reason. 1 star. IMO

The game becomes tediously easy once you figure out how to play it. A tip from me would be to flatten the land out and expand using terra-former. Then just rain fire on the enemies. I used the armageddon spell in the last level and it was awesome. But be sure to only use it when you have the upper hand. The game was great.. but as others said, its repetitive. But I give it a 4/5 nice game. :)

Good game, but if you could actually "put" the mana by the forest totem in the tutorial it would help. I've tried both using the down arrow key and clicking the totem itself and both times the game acts like nothing's been done. If this isn't supposed to happen, then I found a glitch.

Unplayable due to the tiny, tiny window. And why is the top half blurry? That reduces an already small screen even further!

Having played the original populous, this game feels to me like a poor copy. Having limited depth and features (and a tiny screen, and no right-click) just goes with it being a flash game, but that doesn't let you off the hook for the other obvious UI problems.

@HumbleThief Who the hell uses Windows 8 in this day and age? Either upgrade to Windows 10, or downgrade to Windows 7. The latter is usually the better option.

Most annoying sounds/music ever. Dev should be forced to listen to it 24/7 at 130 decibels for a month. He would hang himself to escape the sounds.

terrible... couldnt tell what i was supposed to be going up or down, smoothing tool non-existent, and no way to direct troops. sorry, but this was a flop :(

Only to realise you must have misread something about using Ctrl and feel like an idiot realising you do not need to use Ctrl.

For anyone here just for the badge of the day, the tutorial for the first two levels pretty much guide you to complete them. For level 3 I just set the "Look for a fight" toggle until I cleared out all the other tribe and then I just moved everyone to where the red marker was and it just completed itself

That moment you are levelling the field of your city by holding Ctrl and move the mouse around the map, until you need to move the map and you use W,A,S,D while still holding Ctrl... Best case: bookmarked or html save, worst case, window closed...

Ok, not to seem stupid, but how do I even play this? It seems to be finished loading and I have clicked on everything, tried every key, rerloaded the page four times and don't get anywhere. I'd like to give this game a try, but it seems completely inoperable

for goodness sake, so many games arn't working due to the new Microsoft version thing, and two of the daily badges don't work on edge or Crome, its a serious problem if one more doesn't work

after you get tidal wave your villages can stand safely on high ground... the more you build the faster you gain mana... so if you have a pretty solid village before and after tidal wave (water storm) it also means you can use it pretty soon again...in the first ten levels I would say and partly midgame I would say lightning is a good way to attack enemy villages... just makes sure your own buildings doesn't take to much damage...

Amazing game, although one thing I didn't enjoy was the fact that it is kind of the same thing over and over again. maybe you could add something like; you have to build a kingdom and there could be theifs trying to assassinate your king. Even something where you have to find a place for a kingdom, then try and survive (and thrive :P) with all the things normal kingdoms deal with (like money, food, defenses, and unloyal subjects). Overall it's a fantastic game though.
