i think my favorite thing to do is spam forest everywhere in a large powerful nation then drop a single fire bomb and watch the fire just spread

stuck on level 4. Why does green's civilization develop so much faster than mine, whether I'm burning them to the ground or not?

The level Twist Again says you have the higher ground, but you do not actually have it, causing it to be almost impossible

Abselutely addicting. Populous was great and so are Reprisal. When i saw this game, i was like ''Are you for real!?!''. 5/5, how can people not LOVE this?

In order to make a leader you shall have to let your people go to the waypoint. The first that gets there becomes leader. Than you can use hero. When your leader dies the waypoint may change to his death location.

This game is ultimately too easy. It gets repetitive. I'm not that great at games, so that's saying something coming from me.

Won game by causing a tsunami and killing everyone except one of my huts and five of my soldiers. 10/10 would apocalypse again.

Very interesting game, and entertaining. That being said, its way too easy. I only had to redo two levels and the last one I wouldn't have lost if the totem powers had tooltips to tell you how they work.

I would love to see a sandbox mode where you choose the totems and cpu and enemies you'll fight and choose the type of land your on. That would be awesome.

Apparently, you're not allowed to alter the terrain under an opposing tribe's city...but they can do it to yours, and they can immediately undo the terraforming you did if they have a city nearby. Also, it seems as though sometimes their random soldier can walk at the water, and it becomes land, without any city near or even on the screen...it's a fun game, and I'm loving it, but gods do I hate it when it seems as though the AI don't follow the same game rules you MUST follow.

It has been an extremely long time since this game was released- But I think that there should either be a Sequel or an update-One where there could be buildings on hills, or up the side of mountains, Instead of having to make a huge flat landmass for a city

I agree with everyone...(well mostly everyone) it's just simply a great game
P.S. There should be a sequel!
the game is fun and easy to master but challenging at the same time!
that is all...for now...

Villager: "Oh, exalted leader! Thanks to your divine power of terraforming, we have a giant village full of several houses!" Leader: "Right, destroy the village, we're building a castle instead."

There is a secret hidden in the map on the level where you get the whirlpool ability. The island that you spawn on is in the shape of a space invader.(from the old arcade games)

You really nailed the feel of Populous. A few things I feel could be improved though: one is the cursor placement. A lot of times I had problems getting it exactly where I wanted it, especially when terraforming. I think the cursor should snap to the nearest node to the mouse, currently it heavily favors snapping to lower elevations. I also think that the islands where you only need to collect a totem need to be tweaked as well. It was too easy to just run in a grab the totem. That said the game as a whole is great, especially the art

I've found the easiest way to win ever. Terraform your land so it's a good few levels above everyone else. Continuously build until you have a high mana income. Proceed to use tidal wave until absolutely everything but your couple of villages is annihilated.

Fantastic fun to play this for an old populous fan. I miss a strength indicator for people/characters. It seems to me also that heroes and leaders don't get much stronger collecting even a lot of people? My leader/hero seems to die after a couple of fights no matter how many I collect. Anyone else have this experience?
