Really enjoyed this. The pixilated world playback at the end of a level is incorrect though, not showing where land was actually built. Still 5/5, got quite a few hours of playtime inn

now if you *really* want to pay homage to populous, get rid of every instruction text and let us be mystified for the first day while we figure out wtf is going on, lol

Well, the game ends pretty quickly,so i could suggest that you could play as the remaining tribes, wich would be harder and more challanging

tips: if you dont want you enemy have a hero elemental (fire hero, wind hero, and earth hero) just pick fire and shot hero elemental (you must excellent accurate)

Lack of tutorial becomes frustrating quickly
What do my new abilities do?
What does the leader even do?
What are all the men "saying"?
Why do the houses have flags?
How is capture power measured?
does the PC gain mana at the same rate i do?
Where does mana come from? men, land? kills? time?
Strategy games just don't work if the mechanics aren't visible, i get the minamalist aproach but it needs some work on the gameplay

Tip: the more mana you have, the slower it increases. So a spell that costs 500 is going to take significantly longer than twice as much time to cast than a spell that costs 250.

I would like to know why the enemy can terraform spaces that downsize my buildings, but I can't do the same to them. The fact that they can terraform however they want is ridiculous.

Amazing but water storm is busted, it wipes out enemies instantly and you just have to terraform to save your own people

Hardest level is in the middle of the game, powers are 100% unbalanced, with the most expensive ones being, paradoxically, powers that will likely kill *you* rather than your enemies. No zoom options.
Liked the game and it was fun, but the above issues are pretty rough.

I didn't like the game at all, I gave it a bit of a try but there are too many problems for me to like it..
There is a severe lack of tooltips I have no idea what gathering does, what a leader means, what I need to do to win, and how each status affects the settlement(I mean the top right buttons).
What does forest even do? the terraforming aspect seem fun but there are 2 problems: the cursor isn't really clear where you stand, and you don't know how it affects anything, ye I know it's a 8 years old game and it won't change.. 2/5 anyway.

Something seems to be seriously wrong if I keep losing the tutorial level 3. I build my forces, they build faster. I attack them, my guys die faster. Lose lose. The tutorial didn't say much. What am I doing wrong?

If the game gets boring at the end, build a mountain to build your city on and drown all enemies with the Water Storm spell.

Why are units dying seemingly at random?? It always seems to be announced by some kind of speech bubble with... a grey... thing... in it? What is it, old age? Hunger??? Suicidal thought!!???!?!6616

Just got the easy badge, no idea what the point of this game is. No status on "forts" to tell me what's happening, not sure why some create new people, others don't. How are they fights won or lost? So much black box happening. The graphics are too difficult to really understand, even if you accept that style. And the moving seems really "off." 2/5

Also, if your opponent is building lots of max-level forts, just throw some volcanoes in the center of their base. They're so slow at reshaping the terrain that they'll quickly fall to just low-level camps.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The single best tool in the game is the "land raise/lower" tool: simply use it enough to protect your villagers on an island as you create a few max-level forts, then unleash them and tell them to look for a fight. The AI uses it so little that they just have a bunch of low-level camps/villages, making it an easy slaughter even though they technically outnumber you.

I really love this game. seriously, but this is the second time that I have to start from the beginning because my progress suddenly disappears :c why does this keep happening? :ccc

CO1980 if the enemy is building at a very high place and you terraform two nodes down then you can literally force them to come down and fight or waste their mana. EZ GG
