The obstacles blends way too well into the background. Also the background itself is quite distracting, to the point where my eye starts aching, so I had to retry until the first obstacle is the farmer for the BotD, which took about 10 minutes. Loved the overall atmosphere, but this game is just flat out impossible to play for me. 2/5.

First thoughts... "Whoa is she practically nude in the intro? I mean, she's painting over her naked bod except for her loincloth, right?" [sees horseback rider flashing] "Yup. Wonder how that made it past the censors?"

I always have the urge to jump over farmers instead of killing them XD A tip: keep your eyes on the road everything that can touch you is on the road, even the things you have to dodge (the tree with branch sticking out grows on the road instead of in the background)

fairly easy impossible badge IF you play it on cinematic (looks a lot better too that way) AND you read what to do : farmer : Javelin = space. rocks logs stakes and hoplites: jump = W, branches tents and arrows drom behind: duck = S, arrows and duelist (horse rider from front) : Block = A, horse riders from back (best to never see them on level 5): sprint most of the time the are chasing you (hold down D). also hold down D for the jump at the end of the level. the game looks and feels great though I certainly hate those killer branches!

Nice animation and everything, but the obstacle blending 100% into the background for an obstacle dodging game, not as a troll but as a main (and only) game mechanic? That's a serious nono. That and no guides on what the obstacles look like leaves us with WTF hit me for 90% of the game and takes out most of the fun.

Low contrast obstacles and poor colour choices along with sluggish controls make this offering a rather frustrating and not enjoyable waste of time. 1 star.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
obstacles are too hard to detect, no way to what warrior is in front of you until it's too late, time to respond too short.
good story, but bad game

If humans obstacles are consecutive not alway make sound killing you for no reason, like arrows, called the first , protect, 2° wave come without notice, also we see from side, but her see obstacle before so a sort of indicator should be pop up to see what have after at least for humans

The obstacles are blending into background rendering them nearly invisible. This game is hard, but it's a fake and annoying difficulty.
Also, bouncing tits lol.

Test your reflexes? More like test your ability to distinguish foreground objects from background objects when everything is using a muted color palette.

Played just for the easy badge. Good music and interesting art, but it's too confusing and almost impossible to notice the obstacles making the game not fun to play. 2 stars for me.

voice: wait, that's not how it happened
me: off course it is, didn't you just see me do that? if it didn't happen why did I let her die right there?
voice: that's not how the story goes
me: who's telling this story? me or you?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Ugh. In a bad way. Obstacles blend into the background, so it takes repeated attempts to figure how why "That's not how it happened" this time. If I ever hear "That's not how it happened" ever again, I'm gonna smack somebody.

Not gonna lie... loved the game. I recommend zooming in on the game to enlarge everything. Makes the obstacles easy to see and makes dodging easier. Also make sure you use headphones and listen for the audio clues.

Good concept, but oddly reminiscent of the bullshit Back to the Future III game (I think on Genesis).
Art is garbage. Not on pure quality alone, but because you made obstacles that practically blend into the background. Poor signalling. At least the farmers are signalled with a voice line, but meh.

I love the way the achievement popups are so slow: your reward for beating X amount of obstacles is to be distracted and die to the next one.
No, wait, not love. Exactly the opposite.

This game would be better if there was a little bit of a tutorial, counter-intuitive to know keyboard key does which.

Just keep hitting the space bar until you kill five "farmers", then GTHO. The kills are cumulative even though there is no counter. Just space and "R" until you get your easy badge.

There is so much wrong here. deadly objects that blend into the background. perfect timing needed on almost all jumps, ducks and blocks. The arrows from behind and in front is just brutal. If you are lucky to get a call out and not just the arrow sound you might survive. I am also pretty sure that I keep getting hit by arrows before they even appear on screen. truly a terrible experience. I want to do the impossible but I cannot stop invisible instant death.

The controls are a bit wonky and the game is unforgiving of mistakes with no substantial reward for success. It's like a tedious version of Dragon's Lair.

Those logs are difficult to see, I just guess where the obstacles are because they blend in so well with fore and background.

So to beat this game I'm supposed to memorize the lines of the different enemies to know what attack I should use or be lucky enough that I can notice them a millisecond before they attack me and do the correct attack and use 5 arrows almost at the same time, and while some all you need to do is press to activate them, others you need to press them at the right time or else they won't be active when you need them. And you only have a few seconds to decide what to do. Some commands also fail because of previous commands (I have a hard time blocking right after jumping since the jumping command cancels the block) and two similar obstacles one after another with audible clues make it hard for the player to know what's coming since the audios get mixed up.
Overall seems like a pretty good game but could be much more enjoyable if a couple of things were fixed. I'll play a bit more but I know I won't be able to finish this so I'll go on youtube to get the ending of the story.

(Part 2 of my tutorial comment)
- Hoplites on horses: their trigger is "It's you ugly!", "Get ready!", "Die" or simply "AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!", avoid with block (A).
- Arrows: triggers are "Archers", "Watch out!", "Incoming" and for the behind ones you either have "Watch your back!" or "Arrows from behind", avoid with block (A) front ones and duck (S) the ones coming in the back.
- Pursuitors (the ones in the last level chasing you): you can't avoid those, all you can do is speed up (D). You can indeed get a head start tho by speeding up right after you hear their trigger: "You are mine!" or "Slow down!".
- Last jump/ End of level: Speed up (D) when Hypolita screams "Speed up! Big jump ahead!" or "Big jump! We won't make it!" then jump (W) right before the obstacle (spikes pit or carriage with weath)
Hope it's useful.^^

Holly mother of God, this was a very intense game that really puts your reflexes to the test! I made it in 3 days (I could have finished yesterday, but my computer was having a laggy day and decided to f*ck up my last jump). Here's a list of all the obstacles and triggers as a tutorial for anyone interested into what they must look out for and how to block them:
- ground obstacles: they are usuall stones with blue tops, spikes and wooden traps. Avoid them with jump (W); other obstacles may be the tree branches (color pink) and tents, you avoid those by ducking (S).
- Farmers: their triggers are "You are dead slave!", "Where are you going?!", "STOP! STOOOPP!!!" and you avoid them by throwing spears (space bar)
- Hoplites: their triggers are "On to the glory!", "Commander", "See you in hell!" and are avoided with jump (W),
(more instructions in part 2 of the comment)

Gotta love that intense swaying vision while playing a side scrolling game. Seems to be more intense on this game because of the background.
*Focuses so hard on screen, looks away. "MY ROOM IS SPINNING, HELP!"*

1 star for crap game, ride on a horse avoid obstacles including an invisible one that kills you cause you cannot avoid it

When developers say "this game is hard", that usually means "I couldn't be bothered programming this correctly". Fortunately, this game is an exception, even though it gets close to the above definition. Still, it is hard and therefore not enjoyable. Obstacles blend into the background and the end of level 2 is nigh impossible, especially because the hitstates are vague at best.
Nice to see a game you can play one-handed and not just because of the topless woman onscreen...
