That Wood guy is an asshole. I got my zombie to salute me and shoot a pistol correctly and he just angrily stomps out of the room.

Honestly, I liked the ending. Sure, it's a crappy ending...but that's the point. You don't get success, you don't get a happy ending. This is a zombie apocalypse, not a zombie playground. You can't cure them, you can't save the world.
The best you can hope for is being alone with a hot, relatively undamaged zombie that likes long hard items at 100% mood and humanity with 0% hunger chained to your wall. I've even taught her not to eat human meat!

For quite a while this was pretty much a zombie whacking simulator, a minor gripe here I think the game would benefit greatly from more diversity in zombies, ideally some generator building them from pre-set parts. Than, around stage 20 or so I used up the weapons and pretty much all the aggressive/neutral reactions and delved into passive and advanced. This is where the game, imho, shines. A lot of the animations manage to convey this "flicker of humanity left in the brain" thing pretty well and I'd risk saying this makes your zombie are somewhat different from the usual. The interface could be a bit more streamlined and the main storyline was fairly predictable but I like the questions this game raises within yours setting. One random idea, I think it would be nice if Wood was actually horrified if the player showed him the zombie using the gun efficiently.

Reached a point where the research was terminated, the objective list stated no new objectives, but the badge tracker said that I have only cleared 22 stages. Am I experiencing a bug, or are there still stages beyond that point?

*shows the general the zombie being nice to the animals and literally talking
Generally: That's your progress? You've got to be kidding me!
uhhh... its a nice docile zombie with the ability to communicate... Why are you angry? xd

"It seems I was able to force the zombie into a greater state of aggression. It looks at me with a fiery rage in its eyes and reaches for me with the intent to feed. I wonder how it would react with a loaded pistol?"

Ha, can you imagine what the item requests would sound like?
"Hey... Yeah, guys, I need a dead puppy for my experiments..."

Warning: Don't leave a specimen alive for too long. If you do, you will get attatched to it. It will become harder to beat the shit out of it to decrease its mood. Or was that just me?

did anyone else think twice before giving a zombie a loaded gun, only to have their need for 100% completion overcome common sense?

Despite the unclimactique ending, quite a great game. Despite it being a game about YOU studying a zombies brain, the game was also playing with our brain. At first I did nothing but shit to my zombie, and I couldn,t care less. Then I made another one passive, and I started really to like that particular one. When the military shot her, that sent me furious and I took out my rage on several zombies by killing them. In the end, it was an amazing game, 5/5,
I would truly love to see a Lab of the Dead 2, Thumbs up if you agree

By level 20 I discovered all the reactions. Got really boring after I fully discovered human meat as everyday was just spamming beach ball to meet the required 25 reactions -_-

well, shame there is no further ending after you get 100% that'd be a nice treat D: I'm disappointed D: WEll, atleast if I ever get L4D2 I could try and make a a campaign that follows his story line after xD.. Nice game, had a lot of fun.

A lot like doodle god, except with zombies. The game starts getting kinda repetitive mid way through when you have basically limitless RP and you have to get some of the harder advanced reactions. Good game otherwise.

I really liked the game and the base of it. The storyline was interesting and filling until it kinda let me down in the end. The fact that you in the end find there is no point in the research you're doing is sad - I just miss that something more had been made from it.
Okay, so, the part where you tell mister wood you haven't really gotten anything on those zombies yet, except from those reactions... I would have liked there to be different reactions from his side. It would have given the game a little more spice! I mean, if you trigger, let's say three advanced and two simple, then something would have changed in the storyline. Besides, it would have given you an option to make another badge, a hard one. Getting the best possible ending.
despite of that, it's a good game, really! I love how those zombies actually ended up showing some kind of emotion ^^
I'll rate this game 4/5. It's worth your time if you haven't got anything else to do!

Tests show that the subject dislikes being hit in the face with a stick. Will continue hitting subject with stick to confirm.

Right, I got my zombies mood over 85, humanity over 30 and hunger below 40. Then I threw a baseball at him.. and he seemed sad, making me feel guilty.. ... ..I think I'm starting to develop a bond to him.. ... ..This ain't good..

I cannot explain my frustration in trying to preserve my zombie only to have him punch a hole in his stomach and knock his own jaw off, thus preventing me from doing some reactions. Goddammit, once I'm done experimenting, I'm filling it with nails, bolts and bullets.

¶ Tips: Try to advance in the tapes/notes ASAP to get more options because things can be slow early on. Buy weapons first to get lots of easy reactions so you can unlock other things faster and to get them out of the way since they can kill your zombie (which you don't want later. Last weapon: chainsaw). ¶ Minor bugs: If you use the pie/egg and Skip the reaction in the middle, the zombie will keep the pie/egg on their face. ¶ Fully Damage Specimen Achievement: 3 times each on everywhere but head - pistol, knife(+head), rifle, nailgun(+head), cross bow, machine gun. Then use the chainsaw on the body, and baseball bat to the head to knock off jaw.

Dear log, after finding that the zombies can learn i shot him several times and gave him a loaded gun......this makes perfect sense

I really confused by the wait times for the research. Alright, so it makes sense that it takes time to do these actions, but why do I need to wait for it to load? It doesn't change anything, and I can just walk away from the computer while it researches. A time constraint means nothing if there is no time limits or anything to make waiting a good or bad decision.

We have made significant breakthroughs with this specimen today!!! She has shown sharing with a candy bar, extreme caring for animals and sadness when they are dead- we even shared a tender moment with the fluffy caress of a teddy bear.... simply amazing. Now on to weapons testing with a shotgun, then maybe a handgrenade...

*spoiler* getting 100% everything does not unlock anything that I can tell. I got every achievement, reaction, and fully researched everything. It is a good game worth playing, just wanted to let people know so they don't get their hopes up.

"let me see your progress"
*shows him a zombie shooting on order, rocking a guitar, petting a cat, reading a book, singing on a microphone and using a taser*
"Is THAT all your progress?"
Well he sure has really high expectations

Fully Damage Specimen Achievement:
Handgun: 3 times on each limb but the head

For anyone having difficulty with the "fully damage a zombie" achievement, simply cover the zombie's entire body with wounds from every kind of weapon that leaves a mark. You don't need to destroy any limbs, but you do seem to need to break the jaw and blow a hole in the stomach.

A fun game. With the most laudable aspect being the constant and high quality voice work which creates a good sense of atmosphere and more character immersion.
But the game really needs to be streamlined. My zombie's stats should be listed on the side at all times. Each items effects on zombies should be listed very clearly rather than have to use the item and maybe mess up my zombie. It would be nice to rotate between zombies as some have good stats and I only need a small change. And after a certain point research should be instantaneous.
And what was up with that ending. The story was so good but then "I have no more objectives" really makes all the progress of the last days pointless (I gave up after that and didn't try to get the other research stuff).

Dr Tyler deserves more credit. He managed to open the storage room door and single out a zombie, then close the door after fending off all other zombies, then chain up the zombie successfully... ALL BY HIMSELF... WITHOUT BEING BITTEN... AND EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I agree on how some item requests must sound. "Ok, I need you to brave the zombie-filled apocalypse wasteland for a dead puppy and a dead rat- OH STOP CRYING SOLDIER!! I don't care if you, at 5 years old, watched your pet mouse get tackled and get its guts slowly eaten out of its body by a hawk!!" ...later... "Ok, done with dead things. Now I need you guys to go get me some of those living cats and puppies from around the complex. Yes, the zombie IS supremely pissed, probably from the bullets and arrows I put in its limbs and the smacking from several bludgeoning objects. Have I mentioned I rammed a chainsaw through its gut? Yes, this is the same one that bit a couple soldiers and started the outbreak we now face in this complex. I don't care if there's mass violence and hysteria, an out-of-control virus zombifying more and more of the complex. Get me those scared, innocent, adorable, cuddly animals so I can see if this zombie MIGHT stop pulling them apart like string cheese!!"

Punching a zombie with a boxing glove sure is risky.Good thing he's chained(And i shot both of his arms)Now i got a very high chance of winning this fight! :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
aparently anything that harms the brain kills the zombie ionno why there would be a new reaction to doing it with aa diffrent object... -_-
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
In the game it's said that the soldiers doesn't have enough bullets, but you have an unlimited supply of it, and can fill zombies with it just to decrease their mood? Interesting...
