Cleaning up some old missed badges before the end of the year, and I don't know how I overlooked this one. This is a truly fantastic game, especially for being so old. Congrats to FairyPoet on a remarkable achievement.

So, I use that expensive item to prevent taking any damage. Guess what happens. I'm already dying at that point, so thanks to a bug in the game the item gets wasted and at the same time it doesn't really help. Well, I guess I tried, but I don't like it enough to continue.

To beat Pisces I hovered in the upper right corner to avoid attacks until my magic replenished and then used the number 2 attack in front of them, repeatedly... enjoy the badge

Fun game which is somewhat brought down by design flaws which have become more obvious over the years. While I enjoy the game I do find myself wishing for some quality of life improvements, chief of which are the ability to reset your skill points, a more detailed bestiary for the spirit beasts and possibly raising the level cap since it feels a tad redundant when you already have a limit to how many points you can put into each stat.

got to the end on easy and chose to do new game+ on the next difficulty, and instead of normal I got nightmare??? Changing my score from 5 to 1. No way I'm putting in the time for the hard badges.

I would enjoy it more if the colors were a bit more easy to separate, and have some more explanation on things. Further it is a pretty fun game!

So you're fighting blue/gray critters on a blue/gray background. Even zoomed in this game is ridiculously painful on the eyes as pretty much everything is camouflaged except for some red lazer lines that sometimes come at you. Totally ridiculous.

World building is nice and all but holy hell you can't just keep dumping gibberish on the player as if they know what you're talking about. This is why a lot of stories introduce a newcomer for the others to explain everything to.

mouse controls? would have loved them. left click as switch weapon, right click as spirit beast special, keyboard for items would have been great. other than that i would have liked to have rider weapon choices, or something that gave rider weapon's variability since i am on level 6 and i see no way to change it, though if u can change rider weapon later on i retract this part of the statement.

I do not understand the story whatsoever. Probably because I didn't play the first game, but still. The plot is ... all over the place. And then it ends right as the "final boss" shows up? What?
Also, since the spirit beasts are such a huge part of the game, not knowing what you're upgrading to is very bad.

4/5 stars. Charming graphics, intuitive game play. Was trying to be story-driven, but story wasn't engaging. Mount upgrades, while not a unique concept, was done quite well. Well worth a few hours of your time.

BTW: zodiac bosses are Pisces, Taurus, Aquarius, Virgo, Aries, Scorpio, Cancer, Leo and Libra. That leaves Gemini, Saggitarius and Capricorn, which are apparently Nera, Gelyan and Sisily respectively.

l first played this in 2011. In the beginning it looked old, sloppy and of poor quality in comparison to other games. As I played however, I started loving it; l loved the characters, the plot, the music, even the graphics (I think they fit the whole thing perfectly). Everything anyone could do perfect is like it's focused in this little game. 5/5 is not enough, but it's all Kongregate gives us. This game has a special place in my heart. Good job.

Just finished it. Best tips I can give is the MLaurie strategy and use 3 time locks and one golden apple. And just keep trying and you'll luck out. You will be happy to be done with this after you get it.

Yup, Life Streams flat out don't even work anymore on Zodiac Memory even though they did in some capacity before. Start the battle and use one life dwindles and I die anyways after a few seconds 3 times in a row now. Done with this game.

A bs difficulty curve for the Zodiac Memory was not how I was hoping to end this game. All of the sudden Life seeds will just stop working after 4 seconds if you get close to beating it or you will beat it and all of the sudden you'll die. Challenge is great but this is just cheap as hell.

So in other words, you give us the zodiac, with an attack that keeps hp at 1, making endurance/hp completely irrelavent, without telling us there's a stat cap *without resets*, or what feeding stones will give... And the "official strategy guide" doesn't even work... So much potential, gone astray...
Boy am I glad he decided to focus on his career.

I followed MLaurie's idea. Went Neraine with Ladon. Maxed out agility first, then power (be sure to unequip things which give you boosts since it counts those towards being at 30). Use Azure Breeze every map to only get dark stones. Honestly, I found two Berzerker Stones to be crazy OP when you also have maxed agility. Other than the bosses, hardly anything could even survive long enough to get an attack off using her sword attack. Wound up being both of the final bosses on my first try at level 20.

With the build below, i managed to kill Zodiac Memory with:
Golden Apple
Life Stream x3
15s invisibility is OP unless RNG stops your auto more than it should and the golden apple as the description says, decreases boss HP to 75%

For the hard badges: Choose Neraine as your hero and Ladon as your beast.
Only put points into agility and power. Max out agility first (30 is the cap).
Feed your beast only dark stones. You're aiming for Beezlebub.
Get Deep Blue (A class) and Grim Reaper (S class) for equipment.
Always make sure to buy an Azure Breeze from the store and use it at the start of each level. You only need dark stones for this build.

I like the style of the graphics but they actually interfere with the gameplay for me - the complexity of the backgrounds and character make it harder for me to see if bullets are about to hit my rider.
