I can't help but notice that, despite all the followers on each side being the same gender, both sides have no apparent difficulty breeding.

LordBucket - there is a radar map, see the little round icon in the button bar at the bottom right (it's supposed to be a globe but it's too small to see clearly!) I really tried to find a way to do right click lower, but Flash simply won't let me :( If you have a good mouse-wheel it makes a huge difference, or keep one finger on the CTRL key for lowering.

drldrl - that bug should be fixed now, refresh and make sure your version shows 1.07k (bottom left of main menu screen)

SirFievel33 - what happens is the people merge if they're in the same square with a stronger ally... the strong guy gets stronger (it stops the population exploding but keeps your strength). The longer you take to defeat the enemy, the more likely he'll get a really strong follower. Take them out by making a really strong leader and letting them maul each other! (See the tactics guide for more tips).

Yea it was kinda good until i got to armagedon...then my hero with over 400k health and other hero with like 700 wouldnt attack each other 2/5

I've found the 'dancing around' bug and fixed it. The reason you couldn't cast at the end is because mana is based off buildings, and all your buildings vanished! - I've coded a fixed limit, but if you cast Armageddon (cost 1000) when you only have 1100 mana, you'll still end up with only 100 mana to play with.
*Apologies* to everyone with saved games... they're going to wipe with this update. I've modified the way it saves games so that will not happen with any future changes! v1.07k uploaded now.

It was pretty awesome, until i hit the armagedon bug, at the very least let the character have the lighting rod aswell during the final match, that way it wont be a 70k giant dancing with a 1k enemy and being beaten down with giant rods falling from the sky... o and the computer starts making the ground go up and down in a rather strange way... tried drowning the oponent to death but it seems the computer is pretty fast when it comes to randomly pumping ground upwards... 3/5 for now, its pretty fun but the armagedon bug is a mayor annoyance, until thats fixed the rate stays like that.

omg so freaking buggy. I can't play this anymore! I have frozen fighting characters with smeared status numbers floating in space!

Sounds like I definitely have a problem with Armageddon. The characters shouldn't "dance around" each other like you're describing. Looking into it now, thanks for the reports!

Very nice Populous remake, but there are also some bugs to iron out. Raising/lowering the land does not always work right. I guess the program is trying to be smart, but sometimes it outsmarts itself and screws up. shift/ctrl are cumbersome to use as an alternate. More problematic, the AI keeps casting during armageddon while the player is prevented from doing the same, and as if that wasn't bad enough sometimes the last two fighters just dance around one another without fighting, buying the AI time to weaken the player's leader. I miss a minimap, or the ability to quickly go to wherever the AI last cast. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not, but I find myself babysitting my leader and not doing much else too often because of that. Bottomless swamps are absolute killers, too. Make them shallow instead, maybe? Finally, is plague supposed to do anything at all?

Pretty cool rendition of the original. But I encountered a bug after casting Armageddon: both teams had one unit left--I had a hero with 3,000 health and they had a peasant with 13 health. Our last units danced around the flag in the middle while the computer raised and lowered the ground spasmodically and threw thunder rods down at my hero. I could not throw thunder rods, and since my hero *refused to attack* he was (after SEVERAL minutes) brought down by the lowly peasant.

suicidal_masks - getting hold of the original is a pain, so is finding the manual to get past the security... and after all that it's 320x200 which looks really ugly these days. Of course the game-play is still superb which is why I thought it was worth a revisit :)

I seriously love the concept but really buggy. Terrain freaks out during combat mode and sometimes combat mode becomes literally endless and nothing gets done.
