In trying to get the Hard badge, I found that "Sweep This" was the best level, once you get the hang of it, since it has plenty of open space.
Just be patient and play smart, pay attention to which squares the animals step on without blowing themselves up, and use that info to figure out where the nearby mines are.
If you get a chance where you're not being chased, move close and away from the mushrooms to make them go red.
Use the bears and bunnies to blow up the troublesome wolves and foxes; otherwise slowly lure the wolves/foxes down to the start area, then sprint away (they'll likely step on a mine trying to get back to you).

Simple yet challenging and fun. All I ever ask for in a flash game. Two thumbs way up from me. On the off-chance I'll get laughed out of the room, any chance you might port this to blackberry?

great game ! it adds that challenge that minesweeper lacks and i didn't found any "too difficult" or "damn wolves" issues: you just gotta be smart and make the wolf run next to a bear who steps on a mine and BOOM that's it ^^ it needs a couple retryes to get it right but its not too hard ... nor too easy =) however i got an issue with a missing achievement i got the easy no problem but i can't seem to get the medium and the hard altough i got 500 score and swept like 50 mines in a single game

I love this game... It adds a lot of challenge to minesweeper. Haha. Two things though: Wolves? Holy crap... I do great and then a couple wolves pop up and I spend the next half hour just trying to dodge them. And also, when something blows up a mine, sometimes the number left includes the mine itself, but sometimes it doesn't. This inconsistency has caused me to blow myself up quite a few times.

If you can't play Minesweeper, you wont be able to play thing. You will probably need to beat Beginner in around 30 seconds or less on the original Minesweeper. If you can't do that, go play the original first. Stop complaining about there being too many zombies, this is simply a feature to add to the already epic classic that is Minesweeper. Also, please don't complain about difficulty. Not all games are meant to be beatable for everyone; some people like to be challenged and flash games are getting too easy this game. If you can't beat it, it doesn't mean it's a bad game, it means YOU'RE bad. Fact of life, live with it.

amusing "status" comments: get killed by a wolf, it says "thrown to the wolves". get killed by an exploding mushroom, it says "never eating mushrooms again!"

I DO NOT get how the mines work once they've blown up. Say a zombie triggers it, now instead of a flag it's a 2. Is it "two mines in the surrounding area" or is it "two mines in the area including that mine that just blew up"? I've seen it where there is only one mine surrounding it, so it MUST be including the mine that blew up. I've also seen it where there's 2 mines around it, and then the mine that just blew up. It seems like it can be either or. Contradiction in the game?

@fredzed - I like when people rate good but hard games low because they suck at them. It's like yelling: ''Hey, look at me! I'm a god-damn 10 year old and there is nothing you can do about it.'' Just why are these kind of people allowed to use the internet?

This game is great! Having to run away from the zombies while watching out for mines is very challenging but sometimes it is too random.

getting killed because you can't get away from explosions from suicidal bunnies because the path has shrunk to just 3 or 4 spaces wide sucks.

How is sweep this a puzzle? I just had wolves, bunnies, bears, and exploding guys totally surround me with no lure or shotguns anywhere. Run around until they kill me or try to randomly run forward which spawns even more so I something like ten or a dozen on the screen and i die when I hit a mine. Not a puzzle. Make more tools/shotguns appear and make all zombies walk into mines and hurt by the explosions and the game would be good. As it is now 3/5

I completed level 'Ponderous' with 31 mines cleared...but I still got no badge...anyone else miss out on the medium badge?

adding to the instructions, when you see a number on a square that used to have a mine on it (the mine was triggered by a zombie), then the number is includong the mine that was on it

It's frustrating. I love minesweeper and am quite good at it, and have been hoping for a new take on it for a long time. I don't think this is the right take. At least a mode to ONLY play minesweeper would be a nice break from the random chaos that is every level.

A great game and very addictive but the only problem is the
"Freakin Wolves with their freakin laser beams attached to their freakin heads that freakin detects freakin mines like freakin bomb detectors when they're freakin Zombies with no freakin brains" other then that awesome game and love the music and graphics and even the annoying but also awesome when they say"brains" and then i scream " NO YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!" =D

Excellent game; first game I've played from Frogtoss, and it makes a good impression. It'd be nice to have some way to counter wolves without powerups; on the last Puzzle Play level you're pretty much boned if a wolf spawns early on - this game shouldn't be "Reroll until you don't get a wolf." Also, layering of debris and blood over terrain could be done a little better; perhaps if the numbers were always rendered on top it'd be easier, but it's a pain to try and figure out what's under the transparencies when you're on the run. Both of these are minor criticisms; the game still gets a 5/5 from me, although I'd expect these issues solved if I was actually paying for it (if it was an app, for example).

Whew barely got the hard badge. I have the suspicion that a lot of poeple would find it easier than a typical hard badge, though I certainly had to work for it...
Great game! Good combination of puzzle + action, though it gets a bit frustratingly overwhelming to outrun those wolves every time they spawn. Is there some trick to them?

Tip to all those trying to get the hard badge: The best level to get the badge on is Mushroom Fields on Speed Play. With only Mushroom enemies spawning, you are more easily able to run by them than the other enemy types. Also, "chaining" mushroom explosions in a large, mine free area gives you an indefinite means of gaining points due to the Super combo bonus. Rate up so others can see!

Puzzle mode should contain a finite amount of zombies that spawn from each "grave". I do not mind the added challenge of the zombies present in Puzzle mode because that is the heart of the game, but it gets tedious running around trying to decipher the later puzzles with two ninja wolves nipping at my heels.
