Everyone is complaining about reckless, but I just played him and he got 8 zilches in a row and I beat him 1450 to 10150. He's just a risky roller.

Game itself is good, but Reckless's ability to get free rolls so often (moreso when you have advantage) means it is no fun playing, as Reckless will win anyway

This might be the only game I've ever see use the badge API correctly, so that the "currently: " text is actually what you're currently at. We had this right in 2008 people! Come on!

I tried this crap just to check the stats... result against reckless (easy): after many matches i had gotten twelve 6-dice-points (fx a streight 1-6) while reckless had gotten over 30... many times he got them several times after another, each giving 1500 pts basically only rerolling. while i not even once got 2 in a row. i guess im one the unluckiest on this planet?
Also when tips are on and Reckless played it said "pay close attention" and then different notes flashed up and disappeared faster then even a pc can read them, so ill never know what they said... but its not like im gonna continue playing it, to me its just a pointer to the competence of the programmer... ...imo ofc!

I know this game is old, but it irks me that it's claimed to be based upon "great skill (and a little luck)" when it should be the other way around. There's some level of skill needed, sure, but skill means absolutely nothing if the rng screws you, which isn't uncommon. This doesn't making winning *that* much harder, but it makes getting particular awards a pain, because a lot of them are based on getting lucky, rather than actually overcoming a challenge, like the "Get X consecutive zilch-free victories". You can play as safe as humanly possible, but still lose a streak because the rng gives you a zilch before you get to 300. If not for the exploit (since I highly doubt it was intended) where you can quit out of a game before it ends to not lose a streak, getting those awards (and by extension, the hard badge) incredibly infuriating. Doesn't help that the game refuses to save your progress if you accidentally refresh or something.

Losing 500 points for 3 zilches is arbitrary and a punishment for things outside of yoru control. Sometimes you just can't get the 300 points before losing.

@Darches, thanks for telling that quiting the game before losing keep the winning in a row streak. I dont considere it cheating the system, it's either that or having the best luck in the world-

This is the most bullshit luck based game ever (simply looking at the diference between the medium and hard badge earnings). And many of those awards go straight into nagito's bullshit level territory.

Okay little game. Good for putting a little time into now and them. Largely down to luck; little strategy involved.
I probably just had a run of bad RNG, but it seems to lean heavily in favour of the computer and Player 2.

The game is also buggy, you can disable the CPU sometimes by trying to play during its turn. You can fix it by unselecting all the dice and threatening to quit. The badge counter is a mess too, saying I have 91 awards when I actually have 102, and 2 more of my awards disappeared! When reloading the page my counter went down to 79.

APPARENTLY, quitting games doesn't count against you. So getting multiple zilch free games or wins requires cheating the system.

Getting even 2 consecutive Zilch free games seems completely impossible. This reminds me of Badge Outta Heck from Spore, which was impossible to achieve without modding.

Boring and purely luck based. This game has no strategy at all because the threat of Zilching far outweighs the average payoff, and the scores are so different that most of your points come from the RNG of your first roll each turn. This is also why Reckless is threatening, because RNG weighed far too heavily. You don't even get the CHOICE to be cautious because the game forces you to take at least 300 points for absolutely no reason. This means that some of your Zilches are forced and your decisions are meaningless! This game is so brain-dead that you can get 70+ awards with an auto clicker. CPU turns should also be skippable; they're just a huge waste of time. Definitely 1/5, a failure of game design.

I am aware that true randomness does not feel like randomness to people, and this game may simply suffer from that effect, but I feel like it is simply programmed to be utterly unfair. The medium badge is awarding points to those who can resist the desire to toss their computer out the window long enough to obtain it :-P

I am zilching on 3 dice about 90% of the time. according to statistics, I should be zilching about 30% of the time (slightly less, actually). these are not fair dice.

this game sucks. i swear it's rigged. im up 4000 at the end and the computer pulls a win out. another game and i cant get more than 300 in all 5s and they have 6 rounds in a row of 1000+ wtf. it happens repeatedly!!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There's a glitch in this game where the CPU stops playing during his turn, to fix it Click MENU -> QUIT GAME -> PLAY ON and continue the match normally, otherwise you'd have to quit and lose awards.

Looks like I'm not playing the latest release of Zilch! For more stars in rating, please either keep your game in Kongregate up to date or stop spamming a stupid message that suggests that I should play a game somewhere else.

I dont know if im just really lucky, but.. I got a easy win for reckless and even easier for cautious. Im actually eager for hardmode.

I played a lot off-line with friends and I set a couple of high scores, so I feel confident to give a couple of tips for those who whant to read. 1) You can select a single dice - a single 1 or a single 5 - even if they come in other combination. Realist CPU makes so, but you have to play a bit before you challenge it, so better know in advance. 2) Don't be afraid of Zilchs. 3 Zilchs in a row make you lose 500 points, that is less than 200 point in a roll, so you can easily compensate and take the risk. 3) Don't be reckless. I use a benchmark of 450 point: if I score at least 450 points I bank, otherwise I keep rolling. But I have at least 5 dice to roll and not so much to lose - less than 1,000 - then I roll again. 4) Don't roll 2 die if you can roll 3 and don't roll 2 dice if you can roll 1. 2 dice is the worst combination of risk and opportunity.
