For the berserkers, in the beta (I don't know if now it's the same) I used to counter them with a tough unit (like legionnaire) just when they are at 1/3 of the base, and then rapidly spawn some (3/4) cheap archers (in a crowd) so they attack at the same time, and the berserker can't heal fast enough... the legionary even survived :D

nice game, fun, played others like it, some better..eh but overall it's the artwork that keeps me playing, it's just fun to watch em fight and such, nice work I give you a 5/5 ^^

berzerkers are not that bad, just throw a couple guardsmen out to slow them down and deal a little damage, followed by a few shooters to whittle away at them the whole time.

Once you get engineers it's possible to just spam scouts down whichever lane they didn't send any units in and then spam engineers once their base camp is destroyed and still end with a "perfect" score.

Best Legendary strategy I've found: 2 Shield Maidens per row to stop initial assault and then spam scouts on all rows. Send Lancers for full waves. Send more Shield Maidens if a particular row is struggling. Never use ranged - it just slows your victory.

@LostAngel: spam scouts down an open lane until they are at 0 hp, then finish the rest off with archers. (3 archers to kill 1 zerker)

@Grim: You must have been really upgraded, because berzerkers take out any melee unit mere seconds, and skirmishers don't do much against them because 'zerkers aren't heavy. I went for a speed approach by sending scouts down their open lane until they had 0 hp, and finished the 'zerkers off with archers (need 3 to kill 1)

OK finally beat those orc berzerkers, here's how: spam calvary down a lane so their bar runs out before yours, then take the rest of the berzerkers out with RANGED units. (they do +4 to infantry and attack twice as fast as normal)

Some enemy units are way to unbalanced like that Maru Champion with his broken 40% chance of evade that looks like he actually has 80%.
If you see a Maru Champion on a lane , just forget it , you won't kill it unless your lucky and your ninja's insta kill him.

I would like to say, that "performance bonus" for XP is a great idea. It prevents you from sending all of your troops in one corridor, which was an easy win in "Warlords: Call to arms"

There isn't a single map that cannot be beaten by dumping scouts into empty lanes, selectively leaking enemy units you cannot reasonably defeat, and calling engineer waves to recover before you finish all enemy units.

why do you complain so much about graphics? the game is almost 3d! It's hard to make that in a game! You know how many models have to be made? IDIOTS, STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT GRAPHICS, for a flash game, you can't get better graphics!

I really like this game, but I think the Shield Maidens r a bit too strong. Especially lategame the do way better againt cavalry than the Hearthguard. Also I think they should not wield spears, as there r already plenty of other spear units to pick and they render each one of them obsolete. I would've liked to see swords on them because there r no light sword units with melee protection in the game.

perfect game for me 5/5, nice balance of difficulty and fun. took a long time to beat which is good, not too long where i give up but not like a once and done. And i love how you dont have to wait before you can send troops, as long as you have money, u can send em. I just wish i could play as other races! however good game

When I start on leagendary all my units are gone and I only get a black screen. Replaying the last mission on normal didn't help.

in the first row of upgrades, the fifth upgrade says "spear cavalry units", and i got so excited for some sort of heavy cavalry unit...but, oh well, lovely game. c:

Having an XP penalty for replaying a mission is terrible. This sort of thing absolutely requires grinding, since we don't know automatically how to counter new enemy units, and can easily be crushed in just a couple minutes if we don't match things up correctly.

It would be cool if we could use only the keyboard. Say you chose the rows with the up and down arrows, chose the units with the left and right arrows, and sent the units with the spacebar. It would be a lot more convenient than having to use the mouse for anything.

I'm on the 8th island and I'm pretty sure I've unlocked every character at this point. Close to maxing my skill tree (first playthrough). I think it's safe to say that this is a fantastic game. Sunk the majority of my free time into it for the past week. Well done, developers!

this is a great game. but here are some sugestons, on empires of arkiea 2 (if theres a second) you should make it where the units go through eachother. whats the point of puting 5 hammer men out i they fight one at a time? also, there should be a survival mode. you know? 50 gold each round you suceed 5-10 75 10-15 100
also, you could add more units,maybe even spells. for example:horseman,heavyhorseman,peagusis rider.
just some ideas.

Short guide for hard units: duel wield units (orc berserker, Maru champio, etc) need to be taken by an unit with Heavy armor and high damage. ( legionary, Liegeblade) . Armored units ( Orc warchief, most marus, red armored undead, orcish armored units) are easily taken down by ranged units. Regenerators ( all marus, a few undead and pirate units) must be defeated by high damage and outlasting them 9 get priests to outheal the damage done to your units). For most infantry use Scouts. when you see enemies with spears, go with an armored unit. Only use cavalry against spear when you're strong enough.
Farm the older levels a lot. change your strategy often, and enjoy the beatiful graphics and the epic music. If you need more advice, don't be afraid to ask me. Also, + this.

Graphical bug on Legendary upgrades cap is not one. Its just there isnt enough place to display the 0 in "/10".
Otherwise, good game but Legendary mode should be more challenging.

I found a bug - if I click continue and go into standard mode, do a battle and then refresh the page and try legendary mode the barracks shows no units (not even in my slots) and starting a battle just goes to a black screen.

Good game and still enjoyable, even with the fact that there are countless others like it. I was looking forward to unlocking new cavalry units to find nothing other than the border cavalry early on; it would have been nice to have more cavalry options.

I like what ktherock7 suggested. If I lose the battle, I'd like to know what I could do differently to beat the unit that killed me. On that topic, how do I defeat the guys w/ the two swords in Swinebook, on Taurania?

In the later levels this is the best strategy. First use GoeyJoe's method for money. Then upgrade eveything that has to do with calvary and swords (start early). Also upgrade the money start out to at least a hundred at the start. Then every time a battle starts wait for the first enemy to spawn. Then spend your 80-100 starting dollars all on scouts in another lane. Right behind them wait for your money to charge (upgrade coin generation if this is a problem) then buy a banner gaurd. An enemy may come in contact with the scouts if so its not that big of a deal. Note that many units will make it to your cam. Ignore them. Then start putting other scouts in other lanes. When your wave power bar is full use it on engineers who repair the camp powers because the starting out money upgrade also increases the engineers abilities. The enemy should have zero health. Then wipe out the rest of the enimies and you win with about 80-100 health left. THIS WILL MAKE THE GAME EXTREMELY EASY
