I only discovered this game series a few years ago, but I love it nonetheless, even though I haven't really played much of it.

And just as an addendum, despite armorgames having somewhat "exclusive" rights to gemcraft, absolutely zero gemcraft games are available on armorgames currently. Hopefully that changes in the future, but we should all count our blessings that kong and gameinabottle were dedicated enough to ensure that we would continue to be able to access their content essentially seamlessly. Thanks guys, we love you for what you do

I gotta say, these games have some of the strongest sticking power with me a solid decade after they came out. I hope the dev is still pursuing their passion in gaming, they really have talent. Flash coming to an end was a massive wall that I still haven't reconciled, so I appreciate kong and Supernova for doing what they could to keep games like this going. Mad props. also s-crew adobe for nixing flash.

Can beat this at level 60 by just using dual gem mastery and only using dual gems, saves a tonne of skill points. Make sure you max forge and replenish too asap. For those who make it to the last level, the game ends immediately after dropping the 7th bomb so just store 7 grade 7 gems in towers and use them all at once.

Windows 10 user here. The game did save for me on Chrome, until recently -- it may have been the Flash update that wiped it out.

Also, use the dark blue slowing gem to land more hits on giants by swapping it out with any other gem on its own tower which all towers were built near the eternity gem to take advantage of gaining ground on them.

The least I could do was level 109 and grinding from just farming XP out of endurance and normal modes being either easy and/or the least challenging levels to worry about then maxing out skills range, damage, replenish, and pure gem (bonus when 2 are combined), gem bombing waves enough (I usually did grade 3 bomb), and maximizing score with the double arrow shrine. I use at most level 3 gems that take out a swarm monster in 1 shot that hoards are dealt with by placing many gems even with the perks given. Same with heroic when so many enemies are pouring in at once, but with stronger gems. Do anything you can to level up certain levels (even for me it took days), but get good enough then on the last level, gem bomb the giant monster waves using grade 2 or 3 gems to take advantage of getting enough to spawn and gain more XP based on having grade 1 and 2 of about every gem given to you from the skills that are half full unless you feel like you have to go further.

I won the "Game that never ends" badge with the following: level 128, maxed out enhanced pool, focus, all gem mastery, recharge, turbulence, radiance, forge, and replenish; level 9 pure, dual and prismatic gem mastery; and level 1 armor.

Compared to the first game, it's just not fun. It gets easier after a certain level because of your passives, but the beginning is so unbalanced that I lost interest.

Day 528, I stepped outside for the first time in a while...almost no signs of life..something about a virus. But I'm nearing the completion of the final badge. Just a few more levels....my wife would have been proud.

I spent the past few days playing this time for the majority of my time so I could finally get the badge for beating the stage where you get the Gem of Eternity. Although there were times where it seemed impossible to process, thanks to much determination and some help from old forum posts that allowed me to learn about RO supergeming, I was able chisel away at this amazing feat. That last badge isn't too difficult, it only requires persistent effort and a RO supergem for the last stages. I had a great time, thank you.

After several attempts on different laptops over the years, I finally came back to beat this game before the flash-apocalypse hits. Interesting game series but yeah, so long to complete.

how to finish any level with red and/or orange gems
1. get R or O masteries if needed
2. make a level 3 RO gem
3. put it in the best position on your map
4. make a second one if needed, so you don't have downtime
5. combine your level 3 RO with level 1 R or O gems
6. if any other level 1 gems appear, bomb them with R or O gems to change their color

This one is not as good as a couple of the other versions. This one was made to be a bit too difficult, which takes the fun out of it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yes, formulaic. You must save up for the triangle gems. Maybe save the cheaper gems for bombs? Regardless, not interesting enough for me to stick around. 1/5 (again)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm with superfustrado. Must be formulaic and we haven't solved the formula. I can't beat level 2 and I'm a long-time tower defense player. 1/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Superfustrado: It shouldn't be hard and you can play through the game beating normal mode only in most levels, you are probably missing something or waste too many skill points in weak skills. Focus on the mana gain and gem cost/damage/speed skills. Dual gems are best.
Anger early waves to get more mana from them.

HELP! My game got interrupted, and when I reloaded the page, my game was no longer saved. I was at level 53, had completed "Normal Mode" up to field 25. Now it's gone! Is there any way to get it back?? Please help me!!

@gameinabottle That's awesome to hear, I've played the whole series to death and I can't wait to get stuck into another chapter!

I got the easy badge in 2009. I got the last hard badge today, just over 10 years later. Admittedly, I started over a bunch of times when I got a new computer. Worth it.

It's awesome to see some veteran wizards still playing GemCraft 0 in 2019, 10 years after release! :) a new GemCraft chapter is in development, GemCraft Frostborn Wrath has just got a Coming Soon page on Steam (you can search for the game to get there and Wishlist it to get notified when it arrives). And, nothing's sure yet, but I also have some future plans to release remakes of the old GemCraft chapters, to make them somehow survive the end of Flash Player support in web browsers.

I think dual gem mastery is better than the pure gem. If you have a lvl 3-4 gem and combine it with a different color gem of grade 1 the damage doubles
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
if i remember correctly this was the first game of the series, and like many other say, the most sadistic and masochistic one.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Of all the gemcraft games, which I really like, this is the one I don't enjoy mainly because of many small design decisions that are plain sadistic, eg. not being able to pause and bomb/build like in other games.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
so game says loading... then a black screen.. nothing else happens... same with every single gemcraft game on kongregate? perhaps something is broken?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'd love to see an updated version where you can choose multiple game modes at the same time. For example: Swarm + Sudden Death or Heroic + Time Siege. Playing multiple modes would increase your score exponentially.

I now have the problem where I cannot save games on a Mac - I wondered i this happened when I updated Flash and wondered if could fix by putting copy of saved game in the correct place on hard drive

I've played this game a bunch of times before, but I just realized that it uses periods instead of commas. Now I'm torn because it is a great game, but I hate that way of writing numbers.
