statphantom, if one will defeat the entire set of levels between the arcane guardian levels in Heroic mode, the hidden levels will open. You don't need to have the game beaten.

@Ame_Pein - level 4 and 6 and a few other ones are "Hidden Levels" that can only be unlocked by beating specific stages on "Beyond Corruption" game mode, which is unlocked by beating the game and beating the specific stage on "Heroic" game mode.

@Selendraco - Here's something that you can do to back up the game. Find a file called giabGcChapter0SaveData.sol which is inside a folder called chat.kongregate.com. On Windows XP, it is inside a subfolder of Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\ApplicationData\Macromedia\Flash Player. (If you're on Windows 7, I think it's Users\USER_NAME\ApplicationData\Macromedia\Flash Player, but I'm not 100% sure.) In my case, the subfolder is called T8LDSG7S but yours will have another similar-looking name. Anyway, so once you've located giabGcChapter0SaveData.sol, take a copy of it when you reach a point in the game that you want to save, and that's your game backup. If it gets wiped, you can always restore it.

@Selendraco - Sorry to hear that, I know how it feels. There are some things you can check out. If your browser is set to clear the cache when you exit, make sure that offline web data is not being cleared. Or it could be a problem with the size of your local Flash cache. To check this, in the Save Game screen, right click anywhere and select Settings. Where it says 'How much information can chat.kongregate.com store on your computer?' if the size is set to 10MB or less then try setting it to unlimited. If you can't fix the problem, then you could consider playing this game elsewhere. At Armor Games you have the ability to save your game data as text. Good luck.

WHY doesn't my game save??? I played it last night saved in three different places and came back this morning and it's all empty. That's insane to have to play it all over again, especially since I was pretty high up there on the levels.

There is one thing I'd like to tweak in this game. It's only too easy to ruin a grade 3+ dual gem by accidentally combining it with the wrong pure gem, as some of the dual colours look like unrelated pure colours e.g. lime+blue looks like pure cyan, yellow+blue looks like pure purple (which is pink, unlike the proper purple in the original Gemcraft). Obviously you can check the gem data by mousing over the gem, but it would be really helpful if dual gems could just be identified at a glance by a design feature, or if the component colours were visible instead of a blended colour.

This is the game that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends, some people started playing and not knowing what it was, but they'll continue playing forever just because.

Great game, the features of combining gems into a powerful gem is really exquisite, in future versions of gemcraft, I would suggest adding a campaign storyline throughout each mission such as when a mission when it is complete and gems being unlocked by defeating a boss. I hope this idea gets into play in your future versions of gemcraft and Good Job with the games made so far.

Oh MY GOD, THIS GAME IS ORGASMICALLY AWESOME!!!!
Unfortunately, Swarm mode brings a whole new maning to the term "zerg rush"

Adding on to what BavarianDude said, by using the Orange-Red (RO) supertrap strategy, you can have millions of max mana without cheating and score trillions of points.
One of the best things about this game is that there are so many levels of play - when you think you've figured out the best possible method of playing the game, something you had previously ignored pops up and you realize that there are even more effective ways to score trillions of points.

Skill out the orange and red gems. Connect a level 3 orange with a level 3 red gem. Then simply add lots and lots of level 1 orange and red gems to that and you'll get a big fat mana powerplant with an on-board machine gun.
Four of those helped me clean up map 77 by blowing away the Arcane Guardian even before its last "body guard" died.

primus01, if you failed to kill a thing before it reaches your wizard tower, you are to banish it, losing mana. If you're out of mana and have to banish something, you die.

Ah yes, finally beat it. Very satisfying. Lost all my game save data from forgetting to back them up before getting rid of my old pc. Restarted it fresh and finally got strong enough to beat the last wave. I will take a break and come back and see if I can complete all level modes.

A challenge for anyone who has scored >10 Billion points on a single level before - beat all 228 waves of the last level. Read up on the Gemcraft Forums. (also, help us with unlocking to beat all 512 waves).

@kitsunegames only the highest xp earned is counted. so if you earned 400 at first, then 450 the next time, only 50xp will be added, not 450xp. it prevents ppl from leveling up by repeated grinding at the same level
