@drakenwoud, moreover, it lets you use those gems to convert newly made ones into your desired color, giving you infinite supply of say red and orange on any level (at 1.5x the cost, tho).

Is it bad that I've beaten GemCraft and GemCraft Labyrinth, but I can't seem to get past level like 7 on this game. Makes me so mad....
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Of all the gemcraft games, which I really like, this is the one I don't enjoy mainly because of many small design decisions that are plain sadistic, eg. not being able to pause and bomb/build like in other games.

Just got This is the Game that Never Ends Badge. It took me around 40 hours of playtime to get it... Why the hell it is not "impossible" badge?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There shold be an acheivement difficulty called expert giving 45 points, would fit perfectly for the kind of badges which is harder than hard, but easier than impossible. The "This is the Game that Never Ends Badge" is a fine example of this exact mentioned difficulty.

One of, if not THE best TD game i've ever played. The combination of addictiveness and the length of this game makes it a bit... time-consuming..
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I can't paste the saved game I've already won in Armorgames :( Is it on prupose? Well, I think I'll have to win this again... what a shame :) We meet again, Gemcraft0 :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
After playing Gem craft Labyrinth and then coming back to this one to win the last to badges... This one seems easy. lol It's not on Kong right now, you can try Armorgames. I like it a lot. :D ~Tele

its a good game but it soooooooooooooo loooonnnnnngggggg
the last badge should be an impossible because of length if not difficulty seriously

After finally managing to get to level 32. My husband reformatted my computer. NOW I HAVE TO START ALL OVER GRRRR.....
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The medium should be bumped up to hard, and the second hard up to an impossible. Badges should be based on the amount of work you have to put into them, not on difficulty alone.

"This is the game that never ends badge"
"Map 78 completed – "Endurance badge" does not even begin to describe this. Go outside. Please. Your family is worried about you. "
hahahahaha
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
And just as an addendum, despite armorgames having somewhat "exclusive" rights to gemcraft, absolutely zero gemcraft games are available on armorgames currently. Hopefully that changes in the future, but we should all count our blessings that kong and gameinabottle were dedicated enough to ensure that we would continue to be able to access their content essentially seamlessly. Thanks guys, we love you for what you do

I got the "This is the Game that Never Ends" Badge on wizard level 67.
Hope it can be a reference of when you can get this badge...

@casiv: level 4 and 6 (as well as the other "hidden" levels) will show up later. These two will show up after you complete 1-15 on Heroic.

@Taben117
Next time don't just skip the in level tutorials. Also remember for next time, don't waste the comment space with garbage. :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
statphantom, if one will defeat the entire set of levels between the arcane guardian levels in Heroic mode, the hidden levels will open. You don't need to have the game beaten.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Woah, this game is difficult. i've used all the good strategies: poison traps distances apart, slow traps near towers, still takes ages to do each level. any good hints?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm pretty sure I glitched something. I'm unsure how, but on level 15 i somehow ended up with a phenomenal score... Someone else get this? I have been repeating levels because of training, and it didn't happen then...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This is a really great game but it comes to a certain point were its too dificult to advance and you've beaten all the other levels and used your skill points the best possible way. Then you get stuck. Then it will take about a few days before getting anywere.

"Linking my compass to the Gem, it appears I have to search North." - I'm sorry, but he MIGHT have wanted to double check on that, as all compasses point North.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It would be hilarious if she never really magically-imbued her compass to point to the Super-Gem. It was just naturally points north! It's like she gets there:
You: I am searching for the Gem of Power, do you have it in this Arcane Vault?
Guy: No sorry, this is just a McDonalds. Turns out that we really are everywhere. Can I take your order?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@kitsunegames only the highest xp earned is counted. so if you earned 400 at first, then 450 the next time, only 50xp will be added, not 450xp. it prevents ppl from leveling up by repeated grinding at the same level
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really? Beating the whole game isn't an impossible badge? I'm surprised I don't have a beard by now I've been playing so long...and I'm a woman!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
There's no balance to the early game. This was something that put me off years ago when I first played it. The grind of getting past the first set of levels kills the enjoyment big time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I've wrote some hints and sights about the game but noticed comments are limited to 1000 characters... then realised how awesome is this game and can't understand why did I hate the series in the past :)
Also...
Monster's den: a long afternoon, impossible endurance badge.
Gemcraft games: weeks of gaming every evening, hard badge.

Adding on to what BavarianDude said, by using the Orange-Red (RO) supertrap strategy, you can have millions of max mana without cheating and score trillions of points.
One of the best things about this game is that there are so many levels of play - when you think you've figured out the best possible method of playing the game, something you had previously ignored pops up and you realize that there are even more effective ways to score trillions of points.
