So I was on B1 with nearly max settings endurance, called the last waves up to 1336. I decided just for humor, i would use my 13 spare level 9 gems to anger the very last wave. My poor little level 23 gems couldn't even scratch them, but my mana pool filled up every frame. I made a couple slowing gems to completely halt the monsters while i built up pure yellows. Combine the pure yellows into L/O/Y bringing it to level 26 or so. Activated 12 shrines with level 18 or so gems to carve their HP to only 4 billion with 2 billion armor... But the gem just barely managed to beat them. I feel like I can take on anything, now!

@DiscGo same with me. I beat 146 fields without premium. You dont need to spend money to beat this game. The $5 just makes it easier

fuzzywabbit - Many people have finished the game without spending a penny. I personally am almost through the whole game and have spent nothing.

I've always loved GemCraft games and would have been happy to play any new version.. but this? This is unbelievable, it is so very very polished. I'd never have expected this level of refinement. This deserves to knock Cursed Gems off the top.

Definitely the best GemCraft game yet. Kinda stinks that we don't get Premium Content on Kong, but great nonetheless.

Really? If he were a real wizard, he would've used a spell to break the spell saying 'blocking' and just put 4 walls around the orb. That wizard is a NOOB. >_<

Really nice sequel(prequel, whatever) to the first and second Gemcraft. Only thing that bugs me is that you need to buy Premium to get some Challenge amulets :/ (those "beat 100 waves in this level" things)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
With endurance u can easily get a superhigh level... ofcourse it's premium content.... .... we should be rewarded endurance mode @ some point in the game without paying ._. challenges are impossible without it...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Is the 100 waves challenge consecutive? Meaning, you have to beat the 100 waves in one round?? I can't that many waves to come without premium!

I like this game a lot, nice graphics, very good game mechanisms, a lot of nice improvement to the prequels... but the fact that you can't really get all the journey amulets, and can't complete the challanges without premium pretends me to give it 5 stars.

Shakazulu, that would only happen if you had clicked on the shadow. If you click on any target, all gems within range will target that mob.

The "spend mana on monster banishment" journey amulet has a typo. Instead of "banishment" its baishment. Take a look at it for yourself.

The game is really nice, the commands are really well made, and it has big improvements from the last GemCraft as Assassination167 pointed out. There is a major problem in my opinion, however: the game is too repetitive for its length. You have 169 levels, you have some different modes and ways to customize them. Even so, after the 50o time playing, you start to get a repetitive feeling. No new enemies or enemies habilities, no new objectives, no new powers: changing starting gem, or enemy wave order, or a little configuration in the map is not enough for 169 levels, even with the customization.

@cipper80 Are you kidding? Gem craft games are huge, brilliant and numerous. How can the dev be greedy when they supply so much for free? Adding premium options is a normal way of supporting themselves, but the games are so massive do you really need the premium version? Greedy games are the ones that require you to pay 50 kreds just to play them for longer than 15 minutes at a time.

If you've got questions about the game: There's a forum for that. There's a huge amount of helpful information over there.

As much as you can only do the 100 wave challenges with premium only, I think I'm gonna pass on that. Love the game - but the approach to player incentives is way off. Just writing here, saying I'm halfway through and I noticed a crystal ball in the bottom left corner. It tells you the ration of experience you have for each level. I thought that was AWESOME!!!

Now I know what to do when this really happens. I'll just make a really long and squiggly road, put a sign in the ground that says "DO NOT STEP ON GRASS," and put a bucha magical gems in expensive towers to fend them off. This works best when you know that you will be the most wanted person in the world if you block the road.

Just another perfect tower defense game from armor games. Very good improvements to the previous parts, no aldulterates at all. Besides, maybe, the part with the premium content. But first of all, its common these days and you will encounter more and more games doing this in the future. And second - guys, you still get hours, no, DAYS of free entertainment here until you would have to pay for anything. Maybe you never have to. I´m not even close to finishing the game (45/169), so I don´t know if you really need the premium content at any time. For me, this game definitely deserves 6/5*.

i doubt this will be seen much but... if youre getting the 60k mana spent on each gem color... do NOT use the upgrade gem button... it does NOT count towards the 60k mana on each color... but do use endurance mode for this... cuz if you use 1 color and 1 color only you are almost guaranteed the 60k after that battle...

finishing the game should be an impossible trophy. not that it's necessarily of extreme difficulty, but because it takes huge amounts of time and strategy to do.

I would love to play Gemcraft games on Steam, but I do not have Windows, so I must cram in my last-minute enjoyment of this series while I can. I enjoyed Gemcraft for over a decade, alas that flash is dying.

@astrojacker try setting all to the max with premium content except for endurance with like tenfold health and armour and more wave health a 1mil health bosses... now that is a challenge
