Man I love tower defense games so much, and after years and years of tower defense on starcraft, warcraft3, newgrounds, various flash websites and now Kongregate, this has to be one of, if not the best tower defense game I have ever played.

if anyone wants the harvesting mana badge and 1000 bonus exp fast: play M11. this map has 11250 mana shard and it's early in the game. everyone can use 1K exp earlygame

I love all the Gemcraft games, and happily put some Kreds towards this one. TD games are always addictive, but Gemcraft is the one I can never get enough of, it's just a superbly made game. Love it!

Holy Mother Of All Crapz, that is some MONSTROUS optimization you did there! I'm douing a good ol' endurance run, and I'm surprised to have more than 5 frames per second. You, sir, are one of the best developer I've ever out. I love it! :D

i hate how i have to buy the premiu addition to get 100% completion. i cant belive no one complained about this earlier.

Though it may not be of much help, in earlier stages, it may actually be beneficial to evade xp modifiers, instead going for battle amulets. It's better to get a 30% bonus for nothing reaching you rather than smaller bonuses for more monsters and higher monster hp.

IF YOUR SAVE FILES HAVE BEEN LOST, go here and scroll to the bottom to restore them. http://www.kongregate.com/forums/7-technical-support/topics/285054-google-chrome-21-0-save It has to do with a recent update to chrome. SPREAD THE WORD.

I got my save back! Chrome updated and changed the save file location so now the game can't see my old file. A few comments down I read a guide that showed me how to get the files and now I'm back in buisness! +1 that guide so we can get it on top.

I've had my account since gemcraft labyrinth came out; went long periods of time without playing; my save hasn't been lost.

all these gem craft games have a horrific times of keeping files. i just lost my save on chapter 0 2 levels before getting the hard badge.

67 fields down and I replayed this to about 4k exp on each so I estimate 90 hours of game play and then I woke up today and the save file is gone. Sorry to say I'll have to quit. Was fun while it lasted!

Oh and I can access my save file using IE8 o.O (and for other games too) instead of using Chrome like I usually do.
But there is no chance I am going to game using laggy Internet Explorer. I'm waiting for a fix. The last thing I want is to get 5 minutes into a game then for the browser to crash...

Tomorrow my game is normal, today *PUTF* the game disappeared... all my progress was gone as if I had never played!!!! WTF

Shakazulu, that would only happen if you had clicked on the shadow. If you click on any target, all gems within range will target that mob.

my gems are sometimes downright retarded -.- you set them to 'Nearest to orb' and they shoot shadow who is on the other side of the screen instead of the whole wave of bosses about to kill me

You only have a certain number of demolitions per match (3 by default), you can get more if you have the premium version and raise the skill "demolition" (up to a max of 13). Most things can be destroyed, however shrines can not be.

How come certain walls can't be destroyed via bombs? It's very inconvenient when you're well into a battle, and need to change strategies and take out some walls you put up at the beginning :/

zachbrew, You don't seem to get it. Yes, doing what you are saying will make the gem better, for a while. However, it gets you a worse gem for the money than simply upgrading. Using the same amount of mana, I combined a grade 6 with 62 grade 5's, and compared that to a grade 11 (yes, that is the same amount of mana). Grade 6 stats: 356-1311, 6.8 fire rate, 5.11 crit; Grade 11 stats: 1206-4114, 14.7 fire rate, 7.31 crit. Simply upgrading results in a gem that is nearly 10 times better than your method.

What pisses me off about ratings is when certain people are rated down due to them insulting the game, because they like the game, they automatically vote down, even if it is a true statement.
