5/5 Stars, great game. If you like tower defense games, you really need to give this game a try. If you don't like tower defense games, give it a try anyway. This game is it's own genre as it combines Tower Defense, RPG elements, and general awesomeness into one game to create an experience that will keep you busy for days. Truly a work of art made by a genius game developer. Best TD game I have ever played.

What picten said is sadly true, and has ruined a "no mobs touched the orb" multiplier many times. To add on, once your gem has a fast enough fire rate, switching to random is more efficient. As it will be shooting faster than it can switch targets after killing the lead mob. Switching to random and just targeting the close ones by clicking on them when needed is much better.

Hint: tower placed near the orb, no matter how strong or how many, can get passed by the swarms due to the flaw in the "Nearest to orb" target AI. to fix this, change the AI mode to something else.

Took a few days but finally beat it. I can't believe beating the game is only worth just 30 points in the achievements. Going through 140+ levels takes a lot of perseverance and dedication. Great game nonetheless.

I played this game for a month, every day, to get to the end. I was in the final stretch...just five levels left!
Came back today and my entire game save is gone. Never did anything to my computer, cookies, cache, anything of the sort. And it's gone. A month. I will never get back.
I'm gonna go cry now.

Guess everyone here is up2date on Gemcraft 2 chasing shadows. Looks nice, great graphics. 9X speed button specially meant for endurance and others.

unfortunately it took from February 17 on Armor Games to April 20 for this to get to us. Hopefully it doesn't take as long, but if it does that would be in May before it's released here :( obviously we could just play it on Armor Games in the mean time though :)

Just announced: Gemcraft Chapter 2 will be released on March 17, 2014 on Armor Games. Presumably, it will come to Kongregate a couple weeks after that.

Hopefully chapter 2 will be completely free with no features costing kreds, although I would prefer the kreds option to constant ads

It won't load past 30% :\ I've been playing for abit but then for a week now it won't load past 30%.
Other games work and Gemcraft Labyrinth works on armour games but all my saves are on Kong.
Any help? ty x

Regular pcs now already have 8 GB ram. Gaming pcs now 12,16 GB ram. Great quad-core or octa-core processor, good video card, etc.

That's cool I guess, but it seems like the only time you would want it any faster than 3x is during endurance. But at that point most people's computers slow down anyway due to the huge number of monsters typically summoned.

I really want a online save option... On kongregate, ofcourse. Somehow i keep losing my cookies with the settings that you shouldn't lose them, online save is also quite easier to do instead of save transfer.

@dreiersonc make sure you have it set to where Kongregate can store memory on your computer, the same thing happened to me and I lost all of my game data.

When I went to bed last night, I was more than half-way through the game, having completed many levels. This morning, nothing! My game slots are empty!! After all those hours...:(
