It would be nice if the skills showed how big the upgrade is which you buy. Like 1% more mana or 50%. How much more does each skill level give?

Still the Daddy of Tower Defense games! Gemcraft and its sequels are the best games of their type, full of replay value and well designed levels.

Had a blast playing this game and being the TD junkie that i am , i want to enjoy a good sequel. These is my opinion on what could be improved:
-detailed explanation for skill and upgrades ( for eg: powerful gem bombs doesn't give me a clue why i should invest 1 point instead of 5)
-combining gems in towers(as stated also by Cococambo)
-possibly a gem tree, where you can see each combination of colors and it's stats
-gem bombs having specific effects for each gem used(for example poison makes a poison cloud, red has larger area)
Please rate up if you support these ideeas so the developers can see them. I'll also send an e-mail to Armor.
On a side note to all the guys complaining about locked content, it's about max 5% of the game, i played the game on Armor, the skill in later stages isn't worth investing in. Also i think it's good they have more levels, more content > less.(except if you're playing it just to hunt badges).

actualy you dont gimp yourself by playing on kong. armor perk is kind of useless until you max out everything else. because instead of putting points into armor, you could put them somewhere to prevent a base hit in a first place.
most important perks are mana/kill and starter gems.
they will make you realy strong. everything else is just for a little more comfort.
you have to figure out how mana production works. because its most probable that you made the game unplayable by doing this part wrong.
a little tip: read monster, spell and gem descriptions in this regard.

to get extra points in the end: [3],ctrl+click on the lowest creating section, [6], ctrl click on one of the new gems aso. reaaly useful if u dont reach the glowing frame goal with normal kill+call early's

Good game, but the armor games thing in upgrades is just plain wrong. I don't know why we allow that sort of thing in games at all.

Ouch!!! Saver beware. I've been playing for a week. Got nearly to the end only to sign on today to learn that my save game has disappeared. Keep this in mind, my friendly grinders.

@PureMusic and all those others who ask why Gemcraft isn't as great as chapter 0. Gemcraft is the original game, released 2008 according to Wikipedia, although I could have sworn I played it years ago. Chapter 0 is a prequel, released 2009. The really good news is that a sequel, Gemcraft Labyrinth, is due for release at the end of January. It's going to be epic.

I cant remember what that exclusive skill is to armour games, though I have played it there. Couldn't that skill perhaps unlock through clicking a link to armour games or something similar?

Use Manna Pool, Brucius. In addition to raising your manna gain and limit it also raises your score multiplier. It's crucial for getting glowing frames.

Wow, this is nearly ten years old! Still good fun to play, though I wish they'd come back and update the user interface, which is kinda clunky and definitely showing its age. C-click-B-drag is pretty clumsy for making a bunch of gem bombs, for example. Thankfully, the underlying game is good enough that this is just a quibble.

Dear customers, today I am very gald to see so many people advertising their websites in the comments section, which is intended to be for opinions on the games. Where are they all coming from? Why don't they take their business to somewhere else where people want BIKINI JACKETS and other things like that?

To beat the first epic battle you have to have at least 2 circle gems and one hexagonal gem. On the first turn U typed thing you put 3 towers there then put all water trenches along that. Before you get all of your gems stick to like on hexagonal gem at the U turn and keep buying mana pool until you get you maximum mana over 5000. Then you can get all of your gems like i told you at the beginning . But make sure when level 32 come you have saved your mana to at least 4900. You will need that mana to banish the boss monster back to the beginning. Both times the boss comes through, every time your gems run out of range just keep switching them to the other towers. Also the second time the boss come through you can through your gems at him towards they end. Thats should get you to win :)

I have the samsung s23u which has a pen stylus. Without the pen, the gane doesn't work. WHEN I USE THE PEN, THE BUTTONS IN TGE GAME WORK!!! EVERYONE BUY A NOTE SAMSUNG PHONE AND YOU CAN PLAY IT!!!

savegames should be somewhere on the server, and not on local computer... local saves are bad if you're swapping OS or computer... or if you want to play again in a few months with all your achievements...

I wish they would put an "are you sure?" when you click back to map. I can't tell you how many times I had a phone call and clicked that button after pausing my game, and of course my progress on that level was gone.

Some advice, Don't worry about getting glowing frame scores for a good while. It gets freakishly easy later on. Thumb up so new players see this.
