It's about time this game got its "Badge of the Day." I played it back in 2010 and wondered why it wasn't played more. Replaying it, glad to see it is still a great game.

Good game, but the armor games thing in upgrades is just plain wrong. I don't know why we allow that sort of thing in games at all.

it was time to beat this Game, i started it in year 2010! and leaved it after got the medium badge... big fail, because i need to start over, but today i had the Motivation to finish it with both Hard badges. Its always better to Focus beating 1 Game as to start 10 Games and never finish 1

Note: Backup your saves. Always. I was at level 16 and removed my cookies, thinking that this didn't include my game files saved on the computer... stupid me, that's what a cookie IS. Anyways, check out the Backup Saves? forum discussion to learn how to protect your game.

1. Hidden levels appear after you get glowing scores on all surrounding levels. It is not one concrete glowing score that will unlock the hidden level.
2. Once you are far enough to have "Pure gem mastery" (level 37) it's a good idea to reset your points and max it up, along with Initial mana, Mana replenish, Lower mana costs and Mana per kill. The game stops being a challenge at that point, basically (well, at least if you don't send all waves at you at the same time).
3. I got the final boss at level 78, you can probably do better than that. Get your mana to 9000-10000 to be able to banish him at least once and pray for enough high level purple gems (I did with one lvl6 and one lvl 7) to get rid of most of his 120 armor level in the first round, so all your fire-power will wipe him out in the second. If all is lost, throw high level gem bombs at him.

fun game.. but gem combination should be able to be done in the towers.. instead of putting the gem back in the slots and combining then putting back it to the tower

I hate commenting so many times, but there's no edit option, so...
I recommend a Lime...well, really anything combo. Only Lime combo I found pointless was Purple, and if you have any status color + Lime, you're golden, especially grade 7 or higher.

Also, change the name from "Hidden Levels" to "You Will Suffer Greatly." Not even full-upgrade Medium Gems to start were enough.

When it comes to tower defense, when I think classic, I think Flash TD, when I think fun, I think Random Defense 1 and 2, but now, when I think unique, I think GemCraft. Good game, and as said, up there with the greats.

the game was bueatiful when i played this little and it kind of grew tiring. The gem combination system was clever and playing again now, made me remember how much fun i used to have just several years ago. although the gameplay was a bit tad mind boggling at few points forcing you to say "****, How do i beat this?!?!?!". i am still staying on my ground and say that this is still by far #1 in my top 5 games on this site. :)

I have been staying up to 3 - 4 o`clock in the morning the last few nights playing gem craft! I believe that goes without explanation that I thoroughly enjoy this game! :P

Tip for first hard badge: 1. Get the grade 6 purple gem to remove the boss armor 2. Get the mana (7080*3)/27916, then you have three chances to kill the boss (it become easier then two chances)
