Awesome game with a surprising amount of depth. Recently heard about the series from the Creeper World community and I'll see how far I get playing through each one in order. Enjoying it so far!

Be aggressive at the start araashi. Jack up your max mana to at least 8k so you are getting lots back for your kills. Maybe save 5k mana so you get 2 passes at the boss. Don't forget you can sling all your big gems at him as gem bombs.

@AstroCrafter The second game in the series is Gemcraft 0, but story-wise, it would be Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows.
TL;DR version: Gemcraft 0

Ouch!!! Saver beware. I've been playing for a week. Got nearly to the end only to sign on today to learn that my save game has disappeared. Keep this in mind, my friendly grinders.

I've been coming back here to play this game for 2 weeks straight so I could finally beat it. I have to say, it really drew me in... there's something really satisfying about continually upgrading my gems and I like how combining them can make potentially useful dual-colored gems. Once I completely beat this, I'll be sure to check out Chapter 0 next.

Some advice, Don't worry about getting glowing frame scores for a good while. It gets freakishly easy later on. Thumb up so new players see this.

I give this a 2 star reason=come on people, theres tower defense games that run faster and are much more solid than this crap

Here's a little trick. Get to the last wave of any level, leave one monster alive. Make sure you regenerate more mana than it takes to banish it according to how long it takes for it to run from start to end. (As in, if you regenerate 45 mana while the monster runs the whole way and it only costs 30, you're good) Use the mana you gain to upgrade your mana pool, create towers, bridges, as well as creating and combining gems and throwing gem bombs at nothing. When you've had your fill, kill the last monster. You should get plenty of amulets for lots of extra points. That trick is VERY slow, but could help out. I did this on level 2, got a gold battle amulet on everything, except kill x monsters in a row.

To get all badges you'll need to spam manapool (M key) during waves to increase your score (and level) faster. As you level up, top out all mana upgrades and keep them that way. Then prioritize gem cost and building cost. Put what's left in gems and mastery (spend more in higher-grade gems and pure mastery) but invest all gem/mastery points in high-grade gems once you get them (put the remainder in pure mastery and lower-grade gems, but place those points in high-grade as well when you get enough points to do so). Use high-grade gems to max out every level you see. Finally, master pure mastery, then dual, then the rest. By then you'll be maxing out most stages first run through, dying only in later stages. NOTE - Manapool will be essential for completing later stages, but if used at the wrong time, it may even kill you, so be wary when buying (to stay safe, have 2-3K extra mana in waves 25+ when expecting enemies to make it to the hut and 15K near epic bosses). + this so others can see
