This game lack of space and the enemy is coming near u by seconds, more like 6 pirate ships battling with each other at Public Pool.Even i have to admit i love the games idea just.3/5

Gotta love how the first 9 levels can be won by going up and leaving the game alone. And then the last level requires perfect timing and 1 mistake can kill you.

So the enemy ships get to outmaneuver me by going backwards and gliding side to side? That doesn't make it more challenging necessarily, just cheap. I'm nearly fully upgraded and I'm having a hard time with the final boss because smaller ships keep sailing in on the bottom half of the screen where they can simple 'stick' to my ship and murder all of my pirates. Speaking of which, shouldn't there be a healthy dose of mutineers/sellouts willing to work for my ship after I win a battle with another ship? I played this game through for it's addicting game play, but these mechanical errors are just irritating and depreciate the fun of the game.

This game is so easy untill level 10. Level 10 is really hard. Level 11 is impossible. I don't even want to SEE level 12.

Not using your cannons works well until battle 9 or 10 and you do get the 2500 gold bonus. ... You can beat the 2500 gold bonus starting on battle 3. Fire your cannons only at the Boss warship and only when you are right up tight going the same way if possible. One quick press of the key you are using for firing and you only have to fire one shot or a full broadside. Then Stop !! You have just earned an accuracy bonus running from 4000 to over 7000 gold. They don't fire back when you are in boarding position. Remember only one shot is required to get the full accuracy bonus but it must hit the enemy. I shot at a 95% accuracy in one battle and still got 6700+ gold bonus. Practise snuggling right up alongside the Boss and firing and you will love what it does for your score.

Maybe I'm just being dim but I can never tell if my cannon are going to fire to the left or to the right if my ship is sailing up or down. How am I supposed to tell if "up" means "to the left" or "to the right"? Some visual indication would be really useful.

Major difficulty curve... 1-9 are boring as all getout (using above strategies), and 10-11 are nasty, 12 is just about impossible. I'm good at these games and I cannot kill that giant ship.

@Norekai Its a game, its not supposed to be that realistic. If it narrows it down like that, this game would not be fun.

For those trying the hard badge, remember to, beside following harrvestsun sugestion, ALWAYS move on the oposite way of the incoming ships. It is a a lot easier to cross the fire line than outrun it. However, remember that there is a acceleration time that you must account for.
Also, if you position yourself in an almost vertical position, you can shot a very focused stream of bulets - very useful to give massive damage to ships on your same line.

In addition to harvestsun's tactics: instead of not fireing, fire when you are boarding, a few shots is enough. The 100% accuracy bonus is a lot higher than the no fireing bonus.

You'd think that on Admiral difficulty the enemy captains would have the courage to shoot back during close confrontation. :)

First Mate: Captain, we're north of the ships that want to kill us, should we fire at them.
Captain: NO, we're firing northward, we may be able to hit somebody we can't even see.
First Mate: But Captain, we won't hit anybody.
Captain: JUST DO IT!!!

@person1999 Or it just goes to show that an autosave would be nice to have. There's really no need to be a jerk about it.

In trying to get the admiral badge, I have to wonder why you get more gold for being accurate than having pirates surviving after a battle...

Both Harvestsun and XenoShadow215's tacticts are working quite well, howewer combining them works even better. H mentioned that he failed to always hit 100% of cannonballs, but that is probably because of not being close enough. Since you can both assault and shoot at the same time, just charge into the enemy ships, turn all cannons towards them and fire. Even thoug you might miss 1-5% this way, its still more efficient.

Do you think they would be better off overall if they just took command of the boss ships instead of blowing them up?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yagames, if you can't move your ship, I'd recommend you to stop playing at all :p On later levels just shooting won't be enough.

Two ships ended up in melee combat... Pirate against his captain: "Capt'n! Their ship be sailin' backwards!" Captain: "Aye... their captain be Jack Sparrow."

Wewt! My theory was correct! If you have enough pirates left after all the other enemies are gone, you can simply board the level 12 boss and not bother with his summoned ships at all! Though I did fire my cannons and ended up making two ships pop up when I tested this, I dodged long enough for the big momma ship to blast cannon her babies away, and latched on again. And you know what? I won with 1 pirate left. Last man standing ftw. Rate up this comment So everyone knows they can board the last enemy ship and still win. You just need 120+ left. Preferably 150.

Heres a tip for the last few levels. Enemy ships have friendly fire. if you time things right you can use other ships as shields.

Oh yeah... The shoot up/shoot down game where it would have made more sense to shoot port (left)/shoot starboard (right). Vote up if you hit fire only to shoot the wrong direction...

There is nothing more fun and damn exhilarating than going toe to toe with the final boss and one of his cronies and coming out of it with just 1 pirate. Now that is satisfying. 5/5

Stop complaining about the shot mechanics! They're useful imo. Basically you shoot to the side of your ship which is pointing more upwards, to shoot with the side pointing more downwards you need to press "V". I just got the hard, following harvestsun's and XenoShadow215's guides, and beating the last boss by boarding it with a little bit less than 100 pirates, with 18 survivors at the end. Yeah, the engaging mechanics are luck-based, for beating the last ship you should need not much less than 80 to have a chance, and 120+ to have a sure win.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
tip for level 12: try to have around 80 pirates left for the final ship and then just engage it in close quarters so that you won't have to worry about the helper ships that appear on the bottom.
