Good idea but balance problems: Gather upgrade is so little in comparision to the random effect of the guy walking around. Your worker can die, theirs can't. Also there is not strategy as to which units to send.

Don't like that you can't attack an enemy tower on level 5, my troops just walk pass taking a beating. Also my worker takes a beating trying to get those lumber piles. Need a way to respawn the worker.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yeah, big balance problems. Once a treb or a cart spawns where you can't survive getting it, that's the end of free lumber. Problem is, I think the red side is still getting a rate of lumber that assumes you're still getting it. I also suspect red had less to invest in than blue, but the rate its lumber arrives at hasn't been reduced.

I guess hard/mayhem = computer cheats. I have the only tower and max health for my troops and I have damage bonuses for archers and nights. Yet somehow one enemy foot soldier takes out a knight and 1.5 archers before he dies. No I should do more damage than him and worst case we have = life, something not right here...

So... my worker (the only guy in my kingdom who owns an axe) will chop down a tree, then cross the road, walk half a mile through a field, chop down a tree there, then go back across the road, past the tower, into his neighbor's back yard, chop down a tree there, then take the scenic route back to location #1 to chop down another tree there, then over to a fourth location a mile away where there was this really great tree he heard about, etc... ...not very efficient. Is there any way for me to tell him to just sit by the side of the road and wait for the magical bundles of wood to appear instead? Because apparently that's where the big money is.

This game definitely has problems, as others have noted. You can't attack their worker, you can't even SEE their worker, you can't get your worker back, you can't control what your people do, you can't attack the tower, etc. In all, a game with simple fun potential, but ends up being too simple and feeling unfinished.

as people have been stating, balance issues with the game, also on Mayhem, their soldiers seem to upgrade their attack and speed even without any towers..... The fact that they can kill your lumberjack and you cant kill theirs is another problem. a couple of the later levels need pathfinding as my soldiers completely ignored a tower or two... need more incentive to finish it on hard/mayhem with the upgrades which are just to expensive to buy with the amount you make for each level..
Still, love the concept and spent about an hour on it, 3/5

normal and hard: tips below.
max gold bonus to tech up more quickly. next priorities are starting lumber and repair, only up them if you get stuck. Once you can get towers faster than AI, you own. trebuchets are crucial to some levels.
I used the "upgrade enemy tower first" to get past mid-hard stage... combine it with early knight-damage and unit-production to kill the tower in front of you.
At max tech, game is easy: towers cost 3/7 gold - so you can capture towers near instantly.
normal and hard are cake. if you were slow on gathering money, use hard lvl1 to farm:
about 600 coins + bonuses in a 90 sec., minimal clicks. There's a decent game speed function.
I enjoyed the game very much so far. and its not that hard.
Big question: HOW to crack lvl1 mayhem ?!?! - I'm full tech and played maby 50-60 trials, hoping for 2-3 early trebuchets.... nothing gives. Rest of mayhem should be easy again, since i can play the early tower advantage on the remaining levels.

I REALLY wanted to love this game. I even grinded enough to max EVERY SKILL just to give it the best chance. I like to know that I lost a game because it was smarter than me, not because it cheated. But, even maxed out completely, I just could not get a gold on the hard levels that only had one tower (2 and 5). On the other levels, I could buy both (or two) towers before the enemy, and just upgrade production enough to win in time. With one tower, the game cheated the enemy into faster, stronger, more hearty enemies before I could do anything, and often upgraded their castle just as my treb was about to shoot. I can't even see if this holds true on mayhem because the disparity is so great I can't beat level two.
Also, the randomness of wood pile versus treb is too great, there should be an option to make whatever appeared go away. I've had a round go from gold time to bronze simply because the computer cheat-upgraded too fast and I needed a treb, but I got 20 lumber piles.

All upgrades are rounded down so even -5% will reduce the cost of anything even if it costs 2 Gold. Also the Repair Costs upgrade reduces the cost of building towers. It's worth buying every upgrade at least once before concentrating on the better upgrades.

Okay, i'm a tree cutter, maybe I can cut this infinite tree, hmm maybe I go near this other infinite tree, I don't have a brain.

Unless I'm missing something then luck is involved on some of the Mayhem levels (Level 3 in particular), you need lumber piles alot more than Trebuchets. Instead of having them randomly respawn over one another they should spawn together giving you the choice of what to get, it's annoying being on your way to win a level only for a Trebuchet to spawn and screw you over.

Okay some upgrades make no sense, but that dont matter much. What really gets me is that on many levels, primarily the ones where you and the enemy are perfectly even (same number of towers and everything) the enemy will start cranking out soldiers way faster than you. I had the max unit production and the comp was still cranking out two soldiers to my one Thus even once I got max damage, speed, and health I was still losing because he was cranking out soliers faster thus once I could even reach his archers (which was slaughtering me) he had another soldier up and defending them already.
-Its a fairly fun game, just horribly horribly unbalanced
-also some of the in level upgrades don't seem to do much (like gathering it seems to not gather faster or more (until the 18 upgrade where you get 2 instead of 1)

I really like the idea, but the game needs to be rebalanced. You have offensive and defensive options, and you can choose if you will invest in your knights, your archers or your towers. But, since the major income is from lumber piles, the only strategy that really works, is going on a full attack. As soon as the enemy pushes you into your own court, you have lost, just because you can't get the piles anymore.
As others already have mentioned, upgrading Gathering hardly makes sense at all. It's too expensive for the investment to pay off, and the main income is still the piles. Upgrading your tower health doesn't do you any good either. If the enemy has come within striking distance, the only way to survive is to push him away from your towers, and to do that you need to attack, not defend. The only thing that happens if you upgrade your tower health, is that you buy some time, but pay with lumber you should have used on your troops.

Speed upgrades are a penalty. They only keep your troops spread out and send them to the slaughter before you can take advantage of access to lumber or eliminate trebuchet penalties.

Good game so far. An option to create additional workers would be nice though, as would more tactical options, such as something to hold your troops back perhaps.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
furthermore, upgrades cost way too many coins and you get far too few for grinding to be worthwhile, so, when i lost for the first time i had zero desire to continue and find a way to beat the level
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
has potential, but too many ridiculous problems to be really great. why do i have to go to the menu every level to increase speed? why doesn't the worker respawn?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
theres 3 awesome things in this game
and 2 things i really want to be in the game
the towers are awesome
the wood piles are mega awesome
the trebucket is not so good but its awesome anyways
the game needs more units
the worker needs a respawn button plzzzz
this game would be epic if you made those 2 things
i think this game is currently awesome

An even worse problem in level 5 is that the archers pile at an unhittable point for the enemy, creating an unstoppable stack. Then, they kill your worker, who is harvesting way too close to them, and proceed to rip you to shreds.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You get the same amount of gold for beating level 3 as you do for level 1. If you want to hoard gold to buy upgrades you might as well just blast through lvl 1 several times getting an easy gold medal each time.

Please add a reset button for the shop. Also, as others have said, if you want to alter something by 5%, it should cost 300, not 3.

I can't seem to beat level three at the second difficulty level. I have enough wood to buy the first tower right off the bat, but I can't get enough for the second before the enemy gets it. I've tried all sorts of upgrade strategies, but I can't seem to do a THING to keep the enemy away from my tower for more than a few minutes. Eventually they surge with a bunch of archers, and I'm screwed. HELP?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Horrible with towers units walk right past and get killed, worker needs to be able to re spawn or have the ability to purchase a second or third worker would be nice maybe even the ability to choose where he gathers wood. Great game but with Achilles Heel flaws 3/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Totally unbalanced... at least put a time penalty for the gatherer, if he die u're done -.- Really set a spawn time for him or bound gathering upgrade with number of gatherer
The shop is funny... all that %age are ridicolous. Choose some discrete number instead percentage and try to define better what an upgrade will do...
really need more work to call it a game...

Man, this game gets super boring when your worker dies. Nothing at all to do but it there and watch, and even that's worse than it should be since I have no idea if the enemy worker is alive and doing his thing (even though my troops have been over there enough where he definitely should be dead).

I've been hitting the screen for 10 minutes but nothing is happening... Why o why don't I have a touchscreen laptop!!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game could be really really good, but there are soooooo many problems. for one, the worker dies and your effectively screwed. secondly, the items that spawn are helpful, but when I need a trebuchet and keep getting wood, it's not helpful at all, and vice versa. third, the battle upgrades get so expensive, that by the time you can afford them, you've already lost, but the enemy continues to upgrade. finally, the out of battle upgrades are barely helpful, and not worth the exponential amount of gold that they cost. fix these four things, and this game would be amazing.

(forgot to mention)
the achivements are mega awesome
can you make more upgrades too?
upgrades are the greatest add in every game the more the merrier
sorry... had to make 2 comments
the game is still awesome though

*sigh* Stuck on level three of mayhem now...tried buying both the first tower and the second tower first, neither seems to work out.

The gatherer should respawn. It is weird that it is game over when you lose a unit you have no control over. And Level 5 is silly. Other than that it is an interesting game.
