What the hell happened here? Necronomicon 1 was a fun little game, full of flavor and reactive cards. All of that has gone. Sanity, one of the best aspects of the first game, is totally unimportant. Creatures are now the same as Taint, i.e. damage every turn; there's never any reason not to drop your biggest guy into play and attack with it every turn. Why the extra superfluous clicks to attack? There's almost no point in not attacking, so why make the player click around to attack, rather enabling an option to STOP attacking, when The King In Yellow is in play? Slots for 2 attackers allows lucky draws to crush an opponent, and defending is virtually worthless. Diversifying the cards into different types just reduces possible card interactions. What's the use having an Assassin if your opponent only has a Tome and a Location? To cap it all off the music, while atmospheric, is on a loop so short is grates after very little time. I cannot tell you how dissapointed I am with this game.

I've noticed that there's a slot for "The great Old one" and sometimes the stars glow and connect... How can I connect all the stars?

The sequel is worst than original, original rocks this aint as much... make it more like the feel of the original, big cards, nice nice 1 mob v 1 mob style, many items and stuff, unlock as you progress and stuff :(

It is a good game. But it needs more cards, more challenges, profer levelings...
No, this game is not bad, but not great either. It could be better.

At first i thought "oh, nice, a sequel". I dont think the cards are not balanced enough or its bad that some work differently. But i found it disappointing to see there is no main battle and the game does not get harder when you play for a wile but easier. It does not even congratulate me for finishing all levels on S.

If you replay a round, it replaces the old rank with the new one even if it is lower. Shouldn't it be the highest of the two?

Loved the first one and i really like this sequel, graphics improved a lot, the summoning system got more komplex and i think thats an improvement. the cards and overall atmosphere are still fun as hell, 'specially for lovecraft fans.
But the Cons: the insanity feature is basically _gone_, instead sanity has become a tedious ressource management. in the first game i could _choose_ to go all out with my cards and risk insanity, which made the game fast paced and insane fun. Here its a limitation, which is really sad. The Star alignment would be an awesome alternative! but its too rare, you have to focus on black star cards even if its not a smart move. If there is another sequel, put the suicide limitation to ca -30 sanity and let us enjoy our sweet insanity again. Other than that, thanks for a great game!

the game is insanely easy.
Just beat some levels and go back to the first one to get an S rank
Then get an S rank on the next levels and you have a huge andvantage over your opponent

I dont really like it, The card art is as awesome as the first one, but sanity is almost meaningless now, and the damaging spells are way too powerful

Under no circumstances should you start playing this game, then go to sleep with the computer still on and the music playing...

Way, way too many useless cards. So many times I end up with a hand full of cards I simply can't use. This version has too many different types of cards, slots and such and a counter card for each one? Meh, so many garbage cards I have to wade thru just go get the ones I'd rather have : (

Kinda buggy isn't it? Card says "removes taint while in play" does not. Card says "adds arcane while in play" doesn't. The graphics are harder to read than the original. I actually like the fact that it is truly a different game, but it needs work.

Disappointing. My favorite part of the original was the insanities, and I loved just charging at the guy and not caring if I went insane. I played, planning to go insane

Loved the original, was bummed to find out I couldn't change my deck. and I didn't like the angry bird style level picking. 2 stars because of how my hopes were ruined. lol

When computer plays dimensional shambler card, it's broken. If player's elder defense is 1 or more, dimensional shambler doesn't attack even though it ignores elder defense and would do damage. Probably a function designed to save time by eliminating 0 damage creature attacks, but should not apply to dimensional shambler.

Becomes repetitive due to being unable to change deck... the cards are pretty much the same for all the stages I played (14). Only difference I felt was that games tend to get longer due to higher insanity and life for the ai and me. Could still be improved.

i made great cthulhu go suicidal... he didn't kill himself via the suicide, but i had great cthulhu out as the great old one, and the damage from that killed my opponent. does that count?

For a "CCG" (notice the quotation marks), this game is too random and the computer is too stupid. At the start when life totals are low, the computer can easily own you in 4 moves if he gets a bunch of damage cards and you don't. But he also makes incredibly stupid moves, like using Betrayal when you have no monsters or Doppelganger when your stats are all worse than his. Also, gettintg S ranks is hell early on and trivial later since your life/sanity (and hence score) goes up but the scoring thresholds don't.

i once got an "S" on a level i lost. it didn't let me into the next level right away, but when i replayed an earlier round, it did.

the games doesn't reliably update when searching for conditionals...like the remove taint each turn condition doesn't always work, and sometimes removed characters' abilities continue happening. I feel like it mostly has to do with the character area not working properly
