Challenge 15 is like playing russian roulette with 200 chambers and 199 of them have a bullet in them. I actually got the computer to 4 health but then got stiffed on any useful cards and inevitably lost from there.

Personally, even though this is a great game, I feel that challenge mode was executed a bit poorly, as many challenges don't rely on skill as much as they do dumb luck, as challenges like challenge 9 are pretty much forcing the player to top deck unless he can break insanity, which is also dependent on what he top decks. The way I feel that this could have been improved is if the challenges were set up with the player having a specific hand, and consistent draws that always give the player a path to victory, even if he has to fight for it, the player is not letting the RNG pound him like a punching bag, until he either gets frustrated and gives up, or gets a proper hand and draws to win.

it wasn't as hard as i expected to be although it is largely based on luck
it took me like 5-6 hours (challenges 15 and 16 took like an hour)

I think there might be a lack of testing. I may have challenge 15 in mind. Hum, I should write it down before going crazy.

I'm 99% sure you're badge is broken. When you beat all 30 levels, the "Highest Attack" line says "Uneine" while all the other categories correctly display their values. Your medium badge is broken.

That card-game showed a lot of potential, even though it was a tough start without any manual or tutorial... I hope the Kongregate version is even better.

Well, the first 3 badges were pretty easy to get. The impossible badge is very much luck based, sometimes to the point of making the game annoying enough to quit playing it for a while.

challenge 21- your own cards are in play against you, problem is you never know in which turn. ex. 14 + arcane(8). then you see 22 health being removed from you.and other nice surprises.

finally beat challenges 15 through 21 and let me tell you, good god is challenge 15 going to take you for one heck of a ride D:

Wow Challenge 15 beated at the second time! Instead i took about 50 times for challenge 10, but the important is the victory al last!

The bottom right number in the circle on every card is a sanity penalty you get for using that card.. If you want to lose your sanity quickly, just spam the cards with higher sanity penalties (1,2,3, ect), like summoning and healing cards.

Surprisingly enought, if dealt with correctly, Megalomania can actually help rather then harm... Just make sure to always have a mean to dispell all the taint, and always keep it to when it gets too high( 10+ )

hell yea i finally got the impossible badge. It really is a shame though that the challenges are as ridiculous as they are. Im sure this game would have much higher ratings. I mean I used to love this game and would have given a 5/5 but after playing all the challenges im only going to give a 3 or 4

man, quit ur complaining. Its not rigged, it just has too much luck in it. I tried each challenge about 10000 times b4 i beat them all. The challenges arent hard, its just a matter about how lucky u are.

oh and to the point of being randomized lucky based Events (the challenges are meant of course), well at least there is the chance to be lucky, in the real ctullhu universe there are only two options: you either get killed or kill yourself (play the pen and paper game and you will know what i am talking about ^^") and besides, if it ain't hurt your sanity its not worth beeing called the Ctullhu mythos ^^

15 is by far the hardest challenge. It's mostly playing a million times for luck. There are way too many instant deaths.

The developer should be ashamed. It isn't a 'challenge' if the only way to win is by being dealt the right cards. You can die on the first turn no matter what you do.

I too also have lots of trouble with the challenges but the game was fun and I look forward for more. + if you agree.

I came back to this game after who knows how long, I've been slowly ticking off each challenge for years. Today I beat challenge 21. I'm fairly certain that your opponent's madness can only be megalomania (+2 arcane and +4taint) every turn. While you also gain the taint from their madness and not the arcane, that is the key to victory. Remember taint cannot kill, so you just need a bit of luck to get in that final hit for at least 1 damage.
