Wow zone 12 even with walkthrough is stupid and hard.Didn't enjoyed the at all tbh.Maybe some levels were fun but w/e.Expecting an easier and enjoyable part 2 since 2011 and nothing.

One of, if not the best strategy games I've played. The premise was simple but there was a lot of thought and even timing you can put into your moves. 10/10

Got to level 15 without cutting (I was watching tv so I guess I didn't notice that part of the tutorial and just won), but at that point it is very necessary, so I had to learn the tactics I was supposed to have been using at that stage.

Keep in mind the range of attack that your enemy has and how occupied they are. You can dick around and reinforce your attacks as long as you know that they can't reach the cells you're using as support or counter your attacks because they're trying to do something pointless.

Do not forget the power of triangles. The synergy bonus will push your cells far higher than the enemy, and the moment you have an edge is the moment you can break through their defenses.

Remember. Be overly aggressive. The AI may be able to control multiple nodes at once, but you can react faster than it can because you're the weird and unpredictable factor in the game. Probe defenses, cut tentacles the moment you have an unresisted attack with multiple assaults, and you will capture quickly with less of a costly struggle.

This game pisses me off due to the AI. Trying to react as fast as an instantaneous AI is not strategy, it's twitch bullshit that shouldn't be such a focus in a puzzle game.

level 10 is just bullshit, 4v4 with them 50% more then you. im not going to bother looking at the walkthrough if you f*ck up balance in your game.

@Slothrop - One way is to immediately join your bottom -> middle -> top for your starting 3 cells, and your top cell to the big grey one. If purple sends a tentacle toward one of your cells, cut your tentacles for that cell as far from it as possible, then rejoin to it from other cells to quickly increase its count and prevent purple from capturing.

Wow, I just loaded the webpage and I got the Easy badge. That was nice. And I guess I better report that bug to Kongregate.

I don't get why people are complaining about the lack of tutorial. Take one minute to look at the game in action: You see a number decreasing while the drawn tentacle grows. You see the relation between the (increase or decrease of) the numbers on both ends of the connection, and where you cut a connection. You see "energy bolts" passing through the connection, changing the number on the other side. You see large centres have more energy bolts as smaller centres. This is already plenty information to play the game. Then you get a bit frustrated over losing a centre, so you look at what happens when you lose a centre as you did, and then you do not have to wonder anymore why the AI cuts its connections before it loses a connection. Then you have all the information needed to win the game! Yay! I guess discovering the mechanics is part of the game. Sorry if I ruined that.

I have to agree with some of the comments, that a form of tutorial would have been nice. I spent the first few levels wondering about the different aspects of the game, and I eventually returned the menu to try to find out the tutorial. 15 levels in I can't guarantee I know the whole difference between the types of pulsars / embryos except that some are more regenerative than others (so it seems) and that cutting a tentacle would give it's energy to the connected ends - which makes sense when you think about it lol. Interesting concept though and a nice twist on the original 'spread as fast as you can race'.

Hard game without giving the rules? Fast clicking required, but you can't even make informed decisions! I still can't puzzle out some of the mechanics, or why the AI beats me. BAD design. 1 star for an incomplete game.

Two main tips: First, don't let an enemy microbe simply overwhelm any of your attacking microbes. Cut the lines and abandon the microbe if it can't be defended. Any material being sent out simply gets converted and boosts the numbers for the attacker as it gets pulled back in. On the flip side, the second tip is always aim for the enemy microbes that are attacking in 2 or more directions. Time it so when you attack from an undefended flank, cut the line and let the stream capture the enemy, so you also collect all the material from the attacking lines. With more numbers and bigger attacks, you'll win faster and get a bigger score.

Bug: Re-trying a level doesn't update the score. I had to switch browsers.
Improvement: Save a "Best" score for each level.

At a certain point this seems to simply come down to luck. Cut a tentacle a half second too early, lose the game. Enemy RNG attacks you at the wrong time or in the wrong place, you lose. Even watching the walkthrough video, I get the impression the guy did some of those levels a dozen times and edited out the ones he lost.

no matter what level i'm on or how quick or slow i take to complete the level I always get a score of 165 it never changes. I think the scoring system is broken I've beaten most levels so should have at least the first badge.
