Under rating threshold (show) What the fudge man? At wave 9 the amount(and toughness) of enemies is enough to merit the use of a barrel and then when wave 10 comes its basically over. Reason? THE EFFIN POINTS! They only give you points once you reach wave 5 or 6 and even then they're not enough to distribute to upgrades which will actually help you.

Under rating threshold (show) Nice enough game but let down badly by an upgrade system that seemed to be almost random. If I pressed reset all (which wasn't always an option) suddenly some weapons couldn't be upgraded. The main cannon fired too slowly as well. Would have been good to be able to upgrade the spread of the missile. Will look forward to the next one.

Under rating threshold (show) This is so close to being a great game. I think what I find even more annoying than the lack of persistent upgrades is the fact that this turns into a puzzle game by the end, we are forced to figure the correct weapon and upgrade path the creator designed for each level rather than having the freedom to develop our own strategies. Also, why would mines only be able to be dropped in one area?

Under rating threshold (show) The game is decent but the survial mode is total nonsense. All that trouble to beat the game and we start with 0 upgrades, and no cash to buy upgrades for the 1st 4-5 rounds? Pure crap, fix this oversight and the game will be much better.

Under rating threshold (show) Without persistent upgrades, there isn't any incentive for replaying older levels. Each time you start a level it seems as though you just started a new game, and have to earn all the upgrades yet again. It's a good game, but can be improved on. 4/5.

Under rating threshold (show) So... did anyone else just use the cannon for the entire game? Dump all of your points into it instead of the crap they try to sell you and you're one-shotting everything by the end of the level. Cannon + Hold mouse button = Next level.

Under rating threshold (show) What really ruined the game for me was the arbitrariness. The player is completely at the mercy of the designer in terms of getting upgrade points. This is particularly felt in the survival mission, where the player starts with a bare bones base, no upgrade points for a long, long time, and vastly upgraded enemies. If you replaced the arbitrary "no points for you until I say so" with a system where every killed unit gives a few points, much like, I don't know, EVERY TOWER DEFENSE GAME EVER, the game wouldn't feel as blatantly unfair. Maybe.

Under rating threshold (show) I really enjoyed this game, but I have to admit that the balancing is way off. The main missions were trivial, with most of the upgrades being useless (get armour piercing on the cannon, and just upgrade cannon damage, and you win). The survival mode was very challenging, but you had to use a very different set of skills than in the main missions. Some of the most useless upgrades in the main missions (the armor eater) were almost vital in survival. Make a sequel, and test it out more rigorously for balance.

But looks like a tutorial: all upgrade points are decided by the dev, we dont know when they will appear; we cant buy the upgrades we want when we want; the missiles appear perfectly positioned to save us. It is weird. The game would be better if the gamer had more freedom and if it was really challenging. 3/5

Under rating threshold (show) One thing i've found to be fairly useful on early levels is to buy maximum level Zeus epg, then put it in a strategic location such as the start of one of the main paths. Then reset your skills and don't buy zeus, focus on other stuff. You now have the advantage of the zeus ball but you have spare points for other skills. :) Really fun game so far and i'm delighted to see that you read the comments and actually followed your players suggestions.

Under rating threshold (show) I figured out why this game is boring. It's because the "resource" - the power overload - is completely uncontrolled by the player. It doesn't matter how well you play, or how early you clear a wave - you receive your huge power surge 'magically'. This leads the player to be somewhat detached over the course of a level. Score only matters when you have strong motivations attached to it - high score boards, rewards for different point levels, etc.

Under rating threshold (show) I'm usually pretty patient, and can finish most poor or bland games in order to get badges, but for some reason I just couldn't play this passed level four. 5 Star finishes on the first try, limiting what I can or can't upgrade on a whim, bland enemy types (though the Mothership idea was interesting, they never land anyway).

Under rating threshold (show) There should be twice as many levels that are half as long. Level 4 must have taken 20-25 minutes just to get through. After that I don't feel like bothering to finish the rest just because of the sheer length of a single level.

Under rating threshold (show) I love that the mission coordinates have absolutely nothing to do with their location on the map :D Great fun, I really wish you could grind old levels though. A tactic that I've found to work well (and wish I'd adopted earlier on) is to mainly upgrade your first cannon, massive damage and full armor penetration make it a beast. Then weapon 6, the one that locks on, is a good one to upgrade, wipes out either the large HP enemies or the motherships that fly in with ease, and you don't really have to worry about the recharge rate with them because they take a while to kill. Then use the rest kind of wherever they fit in usefully.
